I converted my $ here yesterday. BEWARE, the exchange rate they offer hits you for about 9 % of the going rate. So, the "no commission" and "no fees" gets made up somewhere else. The hassle and cost of parking made me wish I had used my bank and paid the commission. Because of their website and claim to not have any fees or commissions I decided to brave the parking and head downtown to exchange my dollars for some Chinese currency. After getting down there, parking in the lower garage, and sprinting upstairs I felt like I was on the great race. Despite the first floor, where they're located, being quite large I managed to find their business fairly quickly. The transaction was quick and they didn't have any commission fees or transaction fees.... So, no misinformation there. Why the three stars? Their currency exchange rates are well below current actual exchange rates. This is how they are able to claim no commission and no "fees". So, after paying for parking and the difference in their exchange rate and the actual exchange rate it is my belief that it is just not worth it to go downtown and use their exchange services. There is a reason this place keeps getting 5 star reviews! I might as well add my own... Came here to exchange U.S. cash into Philippines pesos and the rate was the best anywhere in L.A. The line was short, the staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the whole process was efficient from start to finish. And of course the best part was there were no transaction fees. I work in downtown so I didn't have to get parking validation, but here's a tip for anyone working in Bunker Hill (Wells Fargo Center / California Plaza area) and need a quick and easy 5-or-so-minute walk to get there: go through the Bank of America building and take the escalator down to the Concourse level, then walk around the corner to the walkway that will lead you straight into the first floor of the World Trade Center - it's pretty simple but just ask anyone if you get lost. Yep!! The rave reviews are well deserved. Went in today to exchange foreign currency, both paper and coins, from 8 countries to USD. The service was fast, courteous, and professional. My parking ticket was validated for the full length of time I was present. The two male associates who assisted me were welcoming. I would highly recommend this location. As others have said. No hassles, cash for cash. Rate quoted over phone is rate offered at the window. Only negative for a west-sider is that it's downtown. However, parking isn't a problem. I parked on Hope Street at a meter for $4.00 (an hour). By the time I came back there was still 50 minutes remaining on the meter. read more

This is a great place to exchange currencies, the reason why I give a five star review is because despite the "off the beaten path" aspect of this place, it's worth it!!! Without going into too much detail, I did the math and found that the exchange rate was about 1% which is what it's like to use my card abroad. The lady who works there speaks perfect French and their sign indicated that they also spoke German there on top of the expected English. I asked if foreign currency needed to be ordered if desired, and the lady told me that if it's a commonplace currency it's very likely that they already have it in store, so typically there is no need to order anything. I would nonetheless call ahead of time to ensure that they do have the currency that you're looking for. Icing on the cake was that I was offered an envelope for my cash, and was on my way, with a smile. strangely enough though there was one thing that did strike me as odd, I did have to provide my Social Security number and phone number. I assume it's for custom's sake... This lack of explanation to the common place customer loses it a star. :-/ read more

They also validate your parking for $2.00 ($1.50 discount from the parking garage charges). I didn't park in valet because I didn't want to take a chance, but found a parking fairly quickly. A word of caution. Please double count your money before exiting this place. Today I exchanged $850.00 for Mexican pesos. The exchanged rate was $1.00 to 12 pesos. Guess what? I was supposed to get $10.200 pesos and instead I got $9.200! I told the receptionist that I was missing 1000 pesos. I had to count my money about 5 times. Finally the receptionist just place the missing money on the window without telling me anything. I had to ask if that was my money. Be aware always count your money! Disappointed with the way they handled my transaction. I called in around 4:00pm 5/19/10 and was told their exchange rate was 1$=44.40php. Actual Forex at that time was 45.25. Hard to find, located inside the trade centre on the first floor. I got totally scammed, handed over my money to have the cashier claim I was $40 short which I know I wasn't. Then proceeded to lose another $60 on the conversion. Not happy at all and would not recommend this place as being value for money. read more

I called this office and spoke to Jeffrey who gave me a fair and descent quote for buying a nominal sum of Euros. He said he would write it down and place the money on hold for me for the following morning. When I arrived at the office on Figueroa there was an Asian woman and no Jeffrey. She claimed there was no note left by him and there was no money set aside for me. In the end she screwed me out of 500.00€ as I had a flight to catch and not enough time to blow her off and go somewhere else. On top she charged me $4.00 for parking and gave me some stamps to show the parking attendant who wanted more from me and had to call her to verify. If you have to use this office make sure you call first and get a written commitment. Have them e-mail or fax you and stay clear of the switch and change they puled on me.
