There's a ton of bagel places on Staten Island so it was surprising to find this gem. Their breakfast sandwiches are full, and their bagels are have unique flavors including oatmeal, chocolate chip, cinnamon raisin, and other flavors that are not often found in a lot of other delis. Texture is good & not too soggy for the bagels. Call ahead and they'll have your order ready in 5-10 mins for pickup. Ingredients are abundant if ordered with eggs. What a shame for this business with no consistency anymore, you can't get a bagel and coffee before catching a bus to work cause they open later in the am, no consistency in the afternoon, sometimes they close at 3, sometimes they close before 3... sometimes u pay for a bagel with cream cheese or butter and ur lucky if u get more then a smear of it on the 2.50 bagel ... I'm a big fan of the bagels here, and after 13 years since I moved, they're still amazing, even at 3:45am before the new bagels roll out at 4:30am (if you want them hot). I moved to NJ in 2003, and while the bagels there are also good, there is something about a Staten Island bagel at 3:45 am, eaten on the trunk of your car after a long night. Because they're big @#$%ing zeros!). The bagels were so large that they were literally falling out of the trays and up against the glass. It looked like one of those coin games in the arcade where a token is dropped down a shoot and it moves other tokens off a ledge. They also had enormous muffins. The bagels were great - as bagels should be. The muffins are still sitting in the refrigerator because the bagels were so big I couldn't eat the muffins. The rolls and bagel here are huge which is always a plus! But I don't think the egg, ham, cheese proportions with how big the roll was. Recently, I experienced a Bagel place out on the South Shore (Bagel House) that was so good, that I realized I needed to get back to Yelp while I have a little extra time, & include reviews of the Staten Island Bagel places that we have frequented, and not just the regular restaurants that I normally critique. I have had bagels at Forest Avenue Bagels, long before the date of this review, & they were not bad. The place was always unclean & the service mush less than friendly. Not that long ago, due to their location near by places we needed to visit, I found myself once more purchasing bagels here, three times in two weeks. Well, all three times (and I am talking, fairly early in the day) the bagels I had were no longer even close to fresh. There are now several Bagel places on Staten Island, both in the North & South shore, that serve consistently better bagels, try those instead! While I am the first to enjoy large portions, it is truly pointless to be happy about the large size of a Bagel, if upon purchase, it is hard & flavorful. read more

These bagels are the best, I went out of my way to try every deli on the island (ONLY AT OPENING!!! so they were all fresh, no bias) and there isn't even decent competition.
