Been loving the sandwich selections and the chicken noodle soup here. I'm a sucker for a good soup and this hits the spot, especially since it comes with toasted buttered bread - started having my husband pick up quarts of it to share. I've tried the avocado, fresh lox and capers on a sesame bagel, the Egg Salad wrap and the California wrap. My husband has gotten the avocado, fresh lox, lettuce, tomato, pesto mayo. All selections were great. Ironically though, for a bagel place, I was less impressed with the bagels. They're pretty tiny. We got my mom an untoasted whole wheat bagel with butter and she thought it was skimpy. Staff is friendly but be careful with the new cashier who seems unfamiliar with the menu. Quick and efficient delivery, reasonable prices and tasty bagels and salads. Their egg salad is quite yummy, seasoned well and not too wet.

I was majorly craving a good ol' bagel with cream cheese so I found this little spot totally by surprise. It's on a decently busy strip of Coney Island Ave where it can be difficult to find parking sometimes but luckily I found one right around the corner and walked into the little storefront with a giant "BAGELS" sign waving in the air above. My sesame seeded bagel, untoasted with veggie cream cheese came out to $4.50 which was very reasonably priced. The bagel itself had a bit of a chew and fluff and the veggie cream cheese was dotted with scallions, celery, and bell pepper. They seem to be better known for their multitude of sandwich options which I may return later to try. read more

Staff was super nice and cream cheese was good, veggies were fresh, as someone who was has worked in a bagel store, the bagels are tiny, and extremely undercooked. The bagels are tall with no hole so they do not cook well in the middle, both bagels were very undercooked and wet. Lot of lox on the bagel though! So "Avenue X Bagels" is one of those locations you just drive past and the outside looks interesting enough to get your attention, well, it certainly caught mine. I was hungry, so after a quick turnaround, I was on my way to get breakfast. Again, I'd like to point out the outside is pretty interesting. There's no parking so it's curbside or side streets if you're driving. Heading inside, the place was just as interesting as the outside. There's seating in the main area, for about six. The counter is towards the back and there's a lot of people working. The girl that helped me was definitely Brooklyn strong. "What like?" "You want ketchup, salt and pepper?" She was straight to the point, but in a nice way. I asked if they took Apple Pay and she said yes. I was surprised how many people were there. The bagels looked incredible and are made on sight. However, I was there for an egg sandwich. It didn't take long and I paid (a little pricey) and left. First thing I noticed was, they didn't cut it. It might be because they put a lot of cheese in it, so I guess they didn't want it oozing everywhere, or maybe they just forgot. Either way it didn't matter much to me. I just bit into it and was surprised. It was really delicious. The lightly toasted bun, the hot thick eggs and the cheese, oh I love the cheese. It was really good. I would definitely go back. Don't sleep on this place. For $5.50, you're gonna get a bomb bagel with bacon egg and cheese. I normally don't like bagels because the dough is mad thick. However, with this everything bagel, it was perfect. Aromatic and beautifully toasted. The perfect thickness. Look at the beautiful cross section I have in my picture. They don't skimp on the ingredients either. If you order before 1100, you'll even get a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. They also do free delivery with a minimum of $10. I absolutely loved the food and service from here. I got a chorizo, egg, & cheese on an everything bagel sandwich and everything about it was delicious. The bagel was a great texture, but could be a little bit fluffier in my opinion. The chorizo was sprinkled among the scrambled eggs - almost like a chorizo omelette so it was the perfect amount and not too salty like chorizo can be. I got a sesame bagel scooped out toasted with veggie cream cheese and I got a cinnamon raisin for my dad. We both loved our bagels. They're a good size, not too small and not too big. The coffee was also good. The service was fast and the place looked very clean. They had an extensive sandwich menu and a variety of baked goods and snack items. There's a lot of young adults working in there which I loved to see. I hate going to places that look severely understaffed. This place was reasonably priced and I'm so happy I found them. Stopped by Christmas morning to grab some bagels for the family and ordered a box of Joe (did not know they sold these here) and to my surprise I came home to a bag of coffee, cups, sugar, a pint of milk, some half & half and extra things for the family to use and I didn't even ask! Not even sure if it's included in the price but the package was beyond my expectations. OK so this spot is up the block from me and for years it was a decent pizzeria. After changing hands a few times it opened as a bagel store and honestly my expectations weren't all that high. These guys are the bomb!. Their food great and always fresh and they are just awesome all the way around. While there was still school my preteen was obsessed with stopping there after school and said they always treated him kindly. At this point when I walk in there its like family. I posted a review about Avenue X Bagel 11 months ago. I want to update you all. I want rave about their catering. I had 25 friends over Monday night and the place I usually cater from was unable to accommodate me. I was stressed and didn't know where to go. As I was driving to pick up my breakfast I remembered that a few weeks ago as I was getting a bagel, the staff at Avenue X Bagel were working on catering trays to be delivered. On a whim I asked if they would be able to cater lox platters and all that goes with it. They were able to take my order, make beautiful platters, provide salads and threw in some dessert!!
