This place suffers from management and staff issues. In the two and a half seasons we have been here as annuals, each year the manager has quit early to mid-season. When they do have good rangers it recreation people the management finds a reason to fire it run them off. There is no oversight on the family pool and too much against the adult pool. A really fun place has gone downhill quickly. Last year it took the entire season to renovate the family lodge. Our first season here I gave this place 5 Stars. The Rec Director was the reason for most of that. They let her go in October and hired a lunatic the next year, and a soft-spoken introvert this year. Some improvements to the property have been made and a great grill and store contracted with. But, too little, too late. Our spot will vacate in May.

NOT A FAN. 2 campers - one site- separated by a fallen log. Not a buddy site either.

This weekend was an all women's trip for me and my friends. A disconnect and weekend away for all of us moms. My husband was so sweet to come set up the camper Friday for us, then come back and break everything down Sunday morning. It was their first time camping and I was disappointed with the whole setup. Thank goodness the winery made it worthwhile! PROS: Childress Vineyards is about 5 miles away. Super Fun day adventure. There were 2 large pools and both looked very nice, but closed due to the season. They do have a golf cart ramp which is helpful when loading/unloading. CONS: No campground store which meant no firewood or ice for sale. Wi-Fi available only by purchase The "speedbumps" around the campground were a thin piece of metal stuck out of the ground and it was very rough on tires even if you went slow. I understand they are needed, but could be improved. When we arrived there was no fire ring at our site. We saw the Ranger a few sites away and inquired about a fire ring. She told us to find one on another site and take it. Never offered to help. We shared a site with another camper. We actually were told this at check in and requested a different site because we didn't want a buddy site. However the ranger said we couldn't choose our sites and that there was plenty of room. Based on the park map, it appears to be plenty of room. We quickly found out differently. Our site was B34 and their site was B12 however it was one long site with a fallen log for separation. I could hardly walk between our two campers it was so tight. And we both were in our designated spots. Neither one could move forward or our utility hookups wouldn't have reached and/or our slides wouldn't have had room. Very frustrating because the campground was not full, there were tons of empty sites that would have fit our travel trailer. Thankfully our super close neighbor was friendly and quiet. Ultimately not a fan and will not return to this campground.

One of the nicer campgrounds I've stayed at. Could use some cleaning in laundry mat. Staff is friendly. Quiet. Beautiful lake front. Hoping to get kayaks out in the lake tomorrow. Maybe feed the ducks from my kayak. Two huge pools and a hot tub. Closed for the season. Adult lodge as well as family area to hang out. Lots of books to swap. Games n stuff for the kids in the family area. WiFi is a bit sketchy. We have a hotspot so that's helpful. Unlike a lot of thousand trails you don't get to pick your site. Already assigned upon your arrival. Pleased with our site. There is a store I haven't been inside. Restrooms I haven't been in either since I have one in my RV. There is a restaurant on the weekends. I'll update review if I stop in for lunch. There are cabins down by the lake. They look Cozy. Over all great campground. Great for families or a grown up get away. I would stay here again.

We can't say enough about Cherokee Rv Park in Blacksburg, SC…read more We had an excellent pull-through site that included a charming picnic bench and of all things a gas grill that even included propane gas too. We would have stayed longer at this campground, but they were booked up. The rates are reasonable, and it's quiet and peaceful. The owner Bill is so helpful and kind and we would definitely do a return visit. Thanks again Bill for having a great campground and helping a fellow veteran. Stan & Lana Y

The staff and owners are all kind good folks. Got the propane tanks filled while here, the maintenance guy picked them up and dropped them back to me at my site in under and hour easy, and it was very reasonable. A fairly level gravel base site, with water, power and sewer all within a few feet of each other making hook up straight forward and simple enough. Low maintenance established landscaping between the sites adds some privacy. The pull through where we stayed in the park had a picnic table, along with a gas grill and a covered pergola with a bench swing in the front. All overlooking a field with horses. This is a solid choice for a park, safe and secure. Easy in and out, and good people. 4 Stars good for an overnight or longer 01275

We stayed at Tanglewood RV CampGround in Clemmons NC, last week…read more Had vacation business in the area. We stayed in the Park for about 2 days last year just passing through. It Was Hot. Was an Understatement. Monday through Thursday was completely Miserable Heat temp related. At night sitting in the Trailer with the AC running full blast, I was Still Sweating my Ars off. Had a really Severe Storm pass through there on Friday evening. Wind, Rain, Hail etc. tree debris was falling all around. We left to take our Grandson to a church we used to go to when we lived down there around 5:30 PM. Evidently just after we left they had power Failure at the Park. We returned a little after 9:00 PM to find the Power out. So we just got ready for bed. I'm so thankful that Friday was a lot Cooler. We left the Windows open creating a cross wind. We got up in the Morning and squared everything away and hooked up. We were on the road by 8:30 & back in Virginia about 11:30. AM. (Scheduled return day). The Power still was not back on. The Host had reported it at 5:46pm. Any way. Kudos to the Park. 5 nights $190 total, $38 a night. Very Clean bath House was clean and cleaned regularly. My only Complaint was there was no AC or Dehumidifier in it. The Had Three RV Host Trailers. So very good Host Coverage. Just Thanks from Us. P. S. The power outage was only a miner set back but was okay and in no way related to the Park or it's Control.

Shady and paved, FHU with asphalt landing and gravel/grass perimeter and a picnic table at each site. Fair amount of green space around and between each row and site, quiet and peaceful. A large perimeter drive/walk around, inside the park. Sits at a deadend so no through traffic. Has private security every night patrol the park. Make reservations online only, and charges a service fee to pay for it? No veteran discounts or membership discounts, it is what it is. Just and FYI Great hosts at this facility, there are a group of long term hosts that know the park very well, will lend a hand when need be and keep the place pristine daily. Some sites are more level than others, some definitely require blocks and extra leveling skills and knowledge. If you are a large rig (over 35') and unfamiliar with the layout, I would suggest a drive through at least once to see what you are working with. Only one pull through site, all others are back ins. Bathouse, dumpsters and a dump station are provided, all sites are full hook up. 20/30/50amp pedestals with good water and sewer lines all within a few feet of each other. There are a lot of things within the Tanglewood complex, a swimming center, horse stables, a huge dog park, hike and bike trails, sports fields and the RV grounds. Lots of services within a half mile or so, fuel, supplies, groceries, and restaurants all within five minutes or so of the property. Only allowed 14 days within a 30 day time period, and can reserve spaces up to six months in advance. Only about forty or so sites. 4 Stars a solid choice for a nice overnight or longer 01264
