The services for both my parents at Forest Lawn Cathedral City were exceptional. My father passed 10 years ago and we buried my mother in a joint niche this past week. Yuri, Joseph and Elliott all provided excellent caring service. Father Robert was thoughtful and kind and we received multiple positive comments regarding his services. Went to them in April of this year to prepay for niche entombment. My partner and I filled out all the paperwork and provided all the trust paperwork that was asked for. We paid the complete balance and received in writing that everything was settled. In early Aug, my partner passed away unexpectedly. I took his remains with the appropriate permit paperwork expecting that it would take 10 or 15 minutes to have this finished. To my utter surprise and shock I waited over 45 minutes only to be told that I needed to call someone in the headquarters in Glendale, CA. After 15 minute phone call, found out that nothing was settled at all. They had the money but now in my grief, I had to get hold of 5 other living beneficiaries and have there signatures notarized that they released the niche property along with having to find a follow on deed holder. Then I would have to pay an additional $400.00 for all this transfer paperwork. Needless to say all Forest Lawn has done is to send an email saying we are sorry. No assistance, no waiving the transfer fee, no help whatsoever. I guess I don't have to tell you why I am telling Everyone to NOT to use or pay any money to this Cathedral City Forest Lawn. All you will get is lies, expensive upfront charges and last not the services you were promise at the time of your prepayment. read more

A very compassionate and caring staff Lucinda was our assigned staff member that worked preparing all the details and navigating us thru this very difficult time we used there services which were great for the needs we needed met However they are not our choice for final burial because there cemetery does not allow cremated remains of one person to be interned with another loved ones casket Where as other cemetery's will and there choices are not plentiful by any means but my rating for them is only based on the services we utilized because if it was based on everything there rating would not be five stars but I'm only basing it on what we used from them They contacted and made arrangements with the church were using and made all the beautiful flower arrangements There make up artist is wonderful and makes my loved one look twenty years younger which my mom would thank her herself Beautiful job on the lifelike foundation and lip color is stunning and eyeshadow is so pretty sept 16 was my birthday and my mom had never missed my birthday in 53 years so they accomadate my extremely very special request to see my mom this was so important to me and was made possible even after my time with her a really nice very handsome movie star looking gentlemen knocks on the door to see how I'm doing and introduce himself I don't remember his name but with his persona it's probably not hard to figure out who it was very caring and considerate and compassionate gentlemen and last but not least the lovli receptionist with her warm gentle smile and demeanor was always helpful and kind the beautiful hearse that will transport my mom is beautiful and all the details they have arranged many thanks for the respectful caring and accomadating handling of my much loved mother is appreciated although you didn't know her they treated her with love and compassion and for that I'm very greatful and there's never a long wait on the telephone you actually get to talk with a real person and not have to input all these choices of who u want to speak wit read more

This Forest Lawn location has been my family's "go to" for over 25 years. We recently lost my mother and as always, we turned to Forest Lawn for their services. If you contact Forest Lawn for any of your loved ones, it is a MUST to ask for Eli and Lucero! These two individuals made my mom's viewing service run smoothly and stress free. I knew my mom's guest list would be very large and I notified the office ahead of time. They reassured us that Lucero and Eli would take good care of us. The attendance for the viewing was so large that they had to open both side rooms and the balcony for extra seats. On top of that, we had people crowd the entrance and lobby area which is where Lucero and Eli oversee all operations. I felt terrible for those two because our friends and family were in their personal space. However, Eli and Lucero both smiled and continued on with their work. The service was very hectic as more people constantly piled in. They handled this situation as if were a walk in the park. Eli and Lucero constantly checked in with me to see we needed anything. Not once did they complain about the large crowd or countless questions I would ask them. Their service to my family was genuinely the best we've received throughout the years we've been coming to Forest Lawn. If you want staff that's friendly, genuine, and attentive.. make sure you ask for Lucero and Eli. Thank you both again, me and my family really appreciate everything you did! My Mother, Mary Aaroe, was placed in a crypt at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, At 11am November 5 th 2021. I can not imagine a business operated with lower standards of decency, respect and courtesy than Forest Lawn. My Mother deserved a professional service. Nothing more. Nothing less. What she received was an unorganized, unplanned, sloppy event that I will carry in my memory for life. As will the attendees, who are supplying notes and letters to the same effect. On Tuesday, November 2 Nd I had a meeting with a representative of Forest Lawn. The young lady enter our appointment not dressed for any business office, nor acted in a business like manner. A tight blue Jean jacket, tight pants, red high heels with finger nails sprayed gold. I suppose this represents the values of Forest Lawn. Thru a hurried, brief meeting, the employee continued to refer to my Mother as " our loved one". Not Mrs. Aaroe, or any grammatically correct label, just " our loved one". I was first told Forest Lawn was" so swamped " that nothing was open for at least a week. Unless I wanted to pay the Saturday up charge of $600. I agreed. Later, a slot opened a day earlier. My Mother had specifically asked no vocal be played, but quiet background music. I selected Time to Say Good Bye, Ave Maria and one or two others. I was assured everything was " in our library". Not a note was ever played once. Not at the viewing nor before, during or after the service. Nothing. I selected a $400 Spray of flowers for the Casket. The spray, I assume, was forgotten. It was neither at the Viewing nor the Service. As the casket was about to be lifted into the crypt, a Gardner appeared and tossed it on top. The Gardner, complete with tool belt, dirty work clothes and boots, was one of the three that moved my Mom into her Crypy. Please know I am not looking for any type of monetary reduction ( I assume this is what one gets for $12,000 ). I do, however, want Forest Lawn to understand the deceased, and their family and friends, deserve professionalism and respect. No one deserves the treatment my Mother received, nor what I am left to remember. No one. John Aaroe read more

Moved my family from Covina Hills to Cathedral City, the staff could not have been any better !!!, they provided me the inventory of getting 4-nitches together that showed me exactly what was available by text and email. The business office has someone there all the time to help show you around. Lucinda handled everything for me and quickly my family was in their new resting place. I sold the old nitch and FL again handled the transfer for me, as private party sale. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Now my family is in my city and I have my resting place in tact as well. I'm only reporting my experience as a visitor since I have no experience as a customer. I was visiting a friend. The entire facility is spotlessly neat and clean. It was quiet and reverent. The office staff was efficient and kind... gave me the niche location and a map. Finding the niche was a challenge since I didn't understand how to read the address markers on the mausoleum. There was a staff member who helped me and I really appreciate his assistance. read more

My nephew lost his child several weeks ago. This tragedy has been devastating on my family. And has unfortunately caused a lot of chaos and disruption as we made our way through the funeral services. Unfortunately, it was a very difficult process as we did not get along with my nephews ex-wife. There was a huge division in families, lots of arguing, lots of anger, And again just chaos. I am extremely impressed with the way Forest Lawn handled this situation and our dysfunctional family. Through the process of the actual service, Dolores remained calm, confident, and gave professional suggestions as how we can navigate through this difficult situation. Not at one point throughout the process, even with our families not seeing eye to eye did we feel she took sides. She truly had everyone's best interest at heart. Thank you Dolores for being strong, level headed and confident and helping us through this process. I know it was not easy. Willie and Dominic made my husbands last day on this earth beyond special. My husband passed on March 9, 2024. He had been home with me and with Hospice for 2 weeks. Hospice care with Acura was wonderful but the greatest BITTERSWEET moment was when Willie and his son Dominic came to receive my precious Earl on the day of his passing. I had to walk outside while they wrapped my babycakes body. When my precious Earl was ready to come out and I was ready to say my final goodbye my heart was touched deeply because Willie and Dominic noticed Earls VA card sitting on the table. They added an american flag over my Earls body as they rolled him out. That is a moment I took a photo of and have shared with both our families and friends all over this country. Earl passed at 102 years young. 1 month prior to his birthday and was in perfecrt health and no medications. A proud VET that Willie and Dominic HONORED. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. My mother went to this institution and was treated RUDELY by some Mexican-American lady (and my mother is Mexican). My mother got so upset by her rude treatment that she was in tears. I am deeply angered by the terrible treatment my mother received, and will never forget it. I have not yet made my final arrangements, but cannot and will not forget this abuse, and will not spend my money with Forest Lawn after my mother was treated so horribly. The way she was treated made a period of bereavement far worse than it needed to be. Shame on you, Forest Lawn Cathedral City. You need to employ compassionate people who work to assist others during their time of grief and suffering, not vulgar Chicana women who are verbally abusive and do not apologize after making an 84-year old woman cry! I am so angry that I am going to seek out the manager and file a complaint. Being overworked due to COVID-19 deaths IS NO EXCUSE FOR MAKING AN OLD WOMAN, A WIDOW, BURST INTO TEARS. No, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The treatment was unforgivably abusive. Take your business elsewhere and shun this horrible place. The woman that works there is lucky I live an hour away by car, otherwise I would be IN HER FACE voicing my displeasure to her and she would have the daughter to answer to and I WOULD SEEK AN APOLOGY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. read more

I attended a service here for a very popular local physician who died very suddenly. They were unprepared for the huge crowd--not enough parking & no one directing people where to park, no ushers to direct people where to sit, didn't have enough chairs in the space they did have, etc. The pastor (I think) they provided to lead the service was awful. Neither the deceased nor his husband were religious, yet he went on about god, rambled on about himself, mispronounced the deceased's name, and invented an entirely new name for his medical practice, etc. The entire audience was just shaking their heads in disbelief. At the end he did a commercial for Forest Lawn--thanking the family for choosing them. There was a very moving display of photos of the deceased's life, but it was interspersed with slides advertising Forest Lawn. And at the end the funeral director again thanked us for choosing Forest Lawn--with another advertisement slide in the background. Tacky beyond belief.... read more

We recently needed the facilities of Forest Lawn for our mother who passed away. Lucinda was able to meet with us 2 days after the passing on a Sunday and she spent about 3 hours unhurriedly explaining all that we needed to know. We provided initial information and were then gently guided to the showroom for our options to choose from. We mixed and matched from the various ideas and were never told 'no' we can't do that. The service was the following Saturday and it was without flaws. The staff for the audio/video, memory folders and catering direction were incredible. Every detail was handled and we were able to enjoy the service without worrying about anything. These are special people who deserve the extended kindness award! We would highly recommend Forest Lawn to anyone who needs compassion and caring attention. read more

During the difficult time of losing a Loved One, there are so many emotions, and the need to make some immediate decisions. My recent encounter with Forest Lawn was appreciated. The professionalism, the caring, the information conveyed - at every step, and with every person I spoke to over the last couple of months, it has been excellent. We happened upon this Memorial Park after visiting the Desert Memorial Park Cemetery. The surroundings are calm and quiet as one would expect. The buildings are Spanish in design. We saw no in ground burial plots, only wall vaults and very nice glass enclosures. We enjoyed the loving and creative tributes. Always sadden when seeing those markers of the very young. Actually we are thinking this may be a nice place for our marker and final place of rest. read more
