Attended a viewing here and this is my first visit. Amazing Gothic architectural design structures which housed a Flower Shop , the Mortuary and Administration. Visiting and viewing chapels are planned like multiple suites for different purpose. One room was used for visiting purpose where the deceased and mourners gather. Second room was used for viewing a slide show movie of the life of the deceased! Another room was used for a little reception area where guests can get food and drinks during their visit. Grounds are well kept. I wished I had more time to explore the Mortuary Park

I'm rating FLG as a beautiful Art museum and park! A place to be inspired by a story I did not know about where art was relocated from Europe , and churches to inspire people and allow others to experience masterpieces locally. The place is beautiful. The grand mausoleum housing the last supper in stained glass is incredible and a not to miss. For me it was better that the real last supper fresco in Milan. And if you do go, don't miss the story about how it got there and came to be. And one mor unexpected gem, I happened on one of my favorite authors grave sits, Louis L'Amour. It is in such a beautiful place. I had no idea that Liz Taylor, Michael Jackson, many others are here. Cool place. An unforgettable visit.

Old school since 1906. This is one massive cemetery and I can easily see visitors getting lost trying to find a loved one buried here. We visit a couple of times a year and actually spend some time exploring the grounds. I always wonder how many employee gardeners it must take to keep this place up to par.

Forest Lawn in Glendale is a family favorite. Although we usually gather there as a family due to unfortunate circumstances, Forest Lawn is incredible when it comes to accommodations and service. I couldn't tell you exact rates, but it's clear that Forest Lawn sets the bar for burial plots and services. You can expect five star service, and an understanding staff with full boxes of Kleenex, every time.

Forest Lawn Glendale is a lovely, huge park. It has some interesting statuary art and some notable residents - Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, L. Frank Baum. Aside from exploring and photographing the park several times, I also met with their funeral home staff at the Hollywood Hills location to discuss a pre-paid cremation package and purchasing a mausoleum niche. The gentleman I spoke with was very gentle and helpful, albeit a bit pushy - niche price was not mentioned upfront; I was asked, startlingly, to pick out my own urn right away; even though I said many times I was only interested in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, he tried to persuade me to consider the Glendale park. I ended up purchasing my end of life care and mausoleum space at Hollywood Forever, because niches at both Forest Lawn locations (Glendale and Hollywood Hills) are incredibly expensive. If all you are seeking is a cremation package, however, they are more affordable.

Best cemetery I ever visited. A beautiful and serene getaway in the city. Easy to navigate and well maintained. So many interesting and iconic people are buried here. A must see.

Forest Lawn Memorial is a massive cemetery in Glendale. It's extremely well maintained and manicured lawns I have ever seen. Furthermore, they have a mausoleum and a dedicated lawn for US servicemen. Overall, this is a great cemetery.

Chapel where Grocho Marx's funeral was held and Ronald Reagan wed

My husband and I came to visit here as part of our Walt Disney remembered tour and I was very happy to see Forest Lawn for the first time. The thing that our tour guide blew me away with was that people actually come to Forest Lawn to picnic! I must admit with the manicured and well kept grounds that it would be a great place to have a picnic but I'm sorry this is a cemetery and one needs to show respect for those who have their final resting places here and for that of their loved ones. Forest Lawn offers both above ground and below ground plots for both burials and cremations. The cemetery is very extensive and I marveled at some of the chapels we drove by. One was the sight of Groucho Marx's funeral and where Ronald Reagan got married. We were specifically going to see the Disney family garden which was near the entrance of the Freedom Mausoleum. Walt Disney was cremated and his ashes are stored with that of his wife, Robert Brown=husband of Sharon Disney and Sharon-(Ashes scattered) behind a memorial stone in the garden. The garden is very beautiful. Hard to believe this was his final resting place. Not too far away we spotted the gravestones of Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor. Their names may not sound familiar to you however in the corner of their stones you will see MM3 and MMF. These two people provided the 3rd voice of Mickey Mouse and the 4th voice of Minnie Mouse. We got to visit a little of the Freedom Mausoleum. So beautiful and such as fitting tribute to the remains of Nat King Cole and Alan Ladd. Even Clara Bow Hollywood's "it" girl has a memorial stone. Time did not permit us to visit the museum which is supposed to house a magnificient stained glass reproduction of DeVinci's Last Supper and the hall of Crucifixion but believe me I could have spent hours here. This is the final resting place of many celebrities including Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher, Clark Gable from Cadiz, Ohio where he was born, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Michael Jackson, Larry Fine of the 3 Stooges, Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, Aimee Semple McPherson, and Jimmy Stewart who has his own museum in his hometown of Indiana, PA-(reviewed separately). This is only a handful of names I could come up with. All in all it is a beautiful cemetery and one that deserves the utmost respect whether you have a loved one buried here or not. Located in Glendale, CA.

    Email about my concerns.

So Forest Lawn operates as a non-profit despite raising their service and plot prices annually. This is justified by their free public events, art gallery exhibits, and other loopholes. What brings me here is that despite paying thousands of dollars, the grounds aren't kept properly. They are quick to throw or misplace healthy flowers but I've found trash and debris and even damage to my loved ones tablet due to the carelessness during the burials. There seems to be preferential treatment based on locations in the cemetery. Like if you have paid for premium location, decoration rules and policies don't seem to apply? (just simply look to your left as you enter FL. When I wrote asking for clarification as a followup I didn't review a response. When my loved one's tablet was finally fixed, Yesenia did a fantastic job at keeping me informed of when it was ready as well as giving me an estimated timeline and keeping me updated through the process. FL's actions are not a reflection of her work ethic. Thank you Yesenia!

To see Last supper stained glass

On a hot Saturday morning in July, my sister and I went to check out the Last supper stain glass at mausoleum Terrace building. We waited at 8am and walked through the hallway to see Italian designed sculptures. It was very hot inside. I guess the dead don't need AC. Then we see the last supper stained glass. It was breathtaking looking at it. Also I got too see Elizabeth Taylor tomb which has an Angel sculpture on top. Overall, it is very hilly and the plots are well maintained and the lawn surrounding the grave plots are well maintained. Nice place to exercise too as I seen several residents getting their walks.

Our advisor (Vanessa P.) is everything that we expected and more. She took her time and provided in-depth information to facilitate us to make a decision on the spot. We had visited other memorial parks around this area before we made a decision to purchase the property. Some places may have the misconception the customer is not serious because you are not in a desperate need at the moment. A written quote with all the details and no hidden information was created during our visit. Other memorial parks do not provide nothing in writing, just talk and write numbers on a piece of paper. The locations at Forest Lawn - Glendale made a difference of what we want for our family after we are no longer here. The Garden of the Mystery of Life the niche on the wall is the optimal location it faces to the West where the Sunset goes down. Thank you Vanessa, for your professionalism, warmth and most of the follow ups days afterwards. Much appreciated!

Our assigned rep only called AFTER I switched to Anubis Cremations and had arrangements for the body to be brought to their facilities. Wesleigh was so easy to work with. She picked up my call right away and took care of everything. She communicated every step of the way. I told her that my uncle who is a priest will be arriving in 2 weeks and we would like for the cremation and memorial service to happen while he was here. She mentioned that it's a very tight schedule but she would try to make it happen. And she 100% delivered!!! Within an hour of my initial call she had my auntie's body arranged for pickup, she sent paperwork to us and the doctor so she could start the process of filing the death certificate. The church where we wanted the memorial service wouldn't let us reserve a time till they had a cremation date. We were able to get the cremation date within a few days. We opted for a private open viewing at the crematory in Van Nuys. The crematory only does night time viewing which worked well for us since our family is busy working during the day. Wesleigh's coworker Jonathan took great care of us at the viewing. The place had a room for up to 15 people where family members could sit with the casket prior to the cremation. They dressed our auntie in her formal barong and jewelry. We were allowed to provide flowers, letters, and mementoes in the cardboard casket. Jonathan gave us sharpies so we could write notes on the casket. There were aslo tissues and an easel for our use. Although the viewing was technically 15 minutes, we were not rushed and were given about 20-25 minutes to do a prayer service and say our goodbyes. And then Jonathan and another employee wheeled her into the crematory. We watched them place her casket in the "oven" and once the door closed we left. They even allowed us to live stream the entire time we were there to our auntie's relatives back in the Philippines. The following day Wesleigh delivered the ashes to the church and she provided the letters and instructions we needed to bring the ashes back to the Philippines. We were also very happy with the urn we ordered from Anubis. It was engraved and had a photo of our auntie. It was perfect. I can't thank Wesleigh and Jonathan enough for providing an outstanding service that was stress-free, efficient, compassionate, and super professional during this difficult time of grief. I whole-heartedly recommend Annubis.

In fact, they do everything in their power to make your grieving process exponentially harder. My mother died in 2023 and I, being the only local child, had to handle the arrangements. Having never done this before, my uncle prepared a list of mortuaries for me to call. Lacking the faculties to spend the time to really vet a place - as my mom had JUST DIED - I called the first one on the list - Crippen Mortuary. Worst mistake I could've made. I don't see Clare on their list of staff anymore, which is good, because she was an absolute nightmare. First, my uncle's house doesn't have the best reception, so my call wasn't coming through very well. Clare said, "I can't hear you, you'll have to call back" and hung up. Should've left it there, but I wasn't thinking clearly so I went outside and called again. This time, she was friendly enough, but it wouldn't last. The coroner decided to do an investigation, since the cause of death was unclear, and seeing as LA county only has 1 coroner, they can get kinda backed up. Long story short, we waited about a month until they could do an autopsy, and my mother's body was transported back and forth a couple of times due to miscommunications between Crippen and the coroner. Ultimately, they began to pressure us to cremate, WHILE THE INVESTIGATION WAS STILL ONGOING. Ultimately, we decided to take our mother's death care elsewhere, as they were not sympathetic to our situation in the slightest. Clare even THREATENED TO HOLD MY MOM'S BODY HOSTAGE until we paid them - which is SUPER illegal. Long story short, it seems Clare is no longer there, but honestly, I got a similar vibe from the owner Robert when we spoke with him. Because of their lack of communication I was led to believe that he would be ID'd by just the tag he had entered their facility with. After hearing horror stories of mixing of remains and what not from other facilities I panicked. They ended up causing a delay in the cremation from the originally scheduled day. They took it upon themselves to cancel the cremation and they kept insisting that I was asking to watch the cremation being performed where I would need to pay $1000 to be present. I wrote a clear email that this was not what I was asking, that I did not authorize a delay in the process and that I simply wanted to make sure that I pick my babies remains up and not some mix up. This delay was so stressful because I had already mourned the initial date of cremation and having to relive that was heartbreaking. We had family with us the whole time so that we didn't miss anything knowing that our minds were going to be all over the place, but even with having reinforcements Crippen still managed to give us a horrible experience. The cost of cancellation ended up costing $1000. It seems like they just wanted to extra $1000. Also, we had initially asked for a viewing which now I guess only covered up to 3 people, we requested that service so that someone from the family could physically confirm it was him since he had been identified by the morgue by a photo I sent of what he was wearing last. The day of the "viewing" which we hadn't intended for the entire family to show up, but there were more people than we planned. I understood that we overlooked this detail, but the rude owner decided to bring it to my sons dads attention in a very confrontational way when he could have told someone else in the family when it was clear that the family member was handling the finances since we were too distraught. They also insisted that the delay in receiving the death certificate was because a cause of death hadn't been determined when I had a physical link from the health department stating his cause of death that was easily verifiable. At some point the lady scolded my son's dad claiming he had come in the night (which was just at their closing time around 5 or 6), but my son's dad was too exhausted to argue with her. On top of this being the worse single thing that can happen to any parent, Crippen found a way to make it worse. I'm sure I'm missing some details of how awful they were, but this is the gist.
