French manicure after one day
Chelsea A.

My usual spot in Forest Hills was really packed and I needed to get my nails done for my graduation so I made a quick stop here. The service was quick. I didn't have to wait at all. I walked in asking for a French pedicure/manicure and instantly sat. The woman doing my nails was hesitant to remove my cuticles because of hurting me, and was opinionated with nail shape, and color choice. A talkative Salon for those not interested in that! I was taken off guard for sure and found myself having to remove my headphones outta respect. Regardless, I got the raw honey, brown sugar scrub Pedicure ($50 on the menu) and it was nice overall, a well done heel scrub and relaxing with the massage included. Overall, the service was friendly and good but I didn't like how after one day my nails already started chipping. Plus they wouldn't let me add a rhinestone to my nails, saying that rhinestones are only for GEL. I'm not a nail expert, but I'm not sure if that seems right? Why not just use some glue. Idk.

Stopped by for a last minute gel manicure and happy that they were able to accommodate me. However, I must say this has got to be the worst gel manicure I've gotten in my lifetime (and I've been getting my nails done for over 10+ years). The lady that did my nails kept missing the edge of my nails while applying the polish and I had her fix 3 of them and they were still mediocre. She didn't buff/file my nails once the polish was cured so my nails are now rough at the edges.

This place sucks! This is the second time my gel manicure from here has chipped in less than 24 hours. They rush so much - she barely gave me time to pick out my color and THEN cut my skin. I was dumb enough to get my chin waxed after and she ended up waxing my entire lower face - I'm prone to heavy breakouts and there's a reason I don't do everything. Really terrible service. I will NOT be going back.

If I could give it no stars I would!! This place is horrible, I went for a simple mani and pedi and was charged $40 for a shitty job, normal pedicure consist of lotion and a small massage at the end did not receive any of that, my toe nails are different sizes and they look horrible, the manicure was horrible, for both all I asked was for them to be shaped, they are all different shapes as well the cuticles were not cut, after 5 months of not having a manicure you cannot tell me that there is no cuticle for you to remove, after the 3rd attempt she removed some but still left some, stay away. They rushed the whole thing without it even being busy I was done with both in 20 mins!! Then I was bullied into giving her a tip since she saw I was paying with a CC, it's absolutely distasteful. Save ur money and go somewhere else that's worth going

Pedicure

I had a gel pedicure and a manicure done, the technician did an amazing job and listened to everything that i wanted. came out absolutely gorgeous!

Shellac color number 87- looks much more metallic than it actually is; it's more of a deep lavender.

Updating my review to 4 stars because 13 days later the polish is still on pretty well. It would have been better, but I am a nail biter and some of my nails broke (obvi my fault) also in this photo you can see what the color looks like more accurately. I have no idea why each photo looks so different !! But the second, lighter purple, is what the shellac actually looks like. Will be returning to this establishment.

I have been going here for a little over 4 months, and Vivian is amazing! She is very attentive and precise. The owner is very sweet and the atmosphere is welcoming. I always get an sns manicure and gel pedicure. They have a good selection of sns colors compared to some other salons on Austin street. Make an appointment and make sure it's with Vivian!

sns powder dip $35

I was worried at first bc they dont use any machines for filing so i didnt know if the powder would be smooth but it was extremely well done and the woman who did my nails was very sweet and funny. she did a great job and gave me a back massage while the top coat dried + massaged my hands. 100% will be going back!!

Awesome massage chairs

I love coming here. I don't think I have ever been to a CLEANER nail salon. They place a plastic bag in the pedicure tub for each customer so you aren't soaking in someone elses foot germs. The entire staff is exceptional. My personal favorites are Vivian, Olga and Dalia. Parking can be a little annoying depending on when you come but it is worth it. You can trust this place with your toes, nails and everything else.

Cindy and Ananka (?) were great. My gel powder manicure protects my thin nails and has lasted 3 weeks without a chip

This is a nice salon but their prices are ridiculous! $96 for a gel mani/pedi...not worth it!

Horrible mani/pedi by Valentin a would have tipped better if she decided to work at it. List my manicure 2 hours after! Not cool.

Clean and friendly, solid mani/pedi. My only complaint is a limited color selection.

Looking for an outstanding manicurist who can do acrylic pink and white nails?

Have you tried calling the salon to ask? I'm not sure if Forest Nails does acrylics. I like Cindy's manicures and pedicures.

Reservation strongly recommended…read more Ive been here a few times and always my first choice when it comes to good quality great service. I have never made a reservation so Ive always had to wait. This previous time I came, I kept coming back in 1 hour intervals with no availability. I decided to wait the last time I came back and was able to get my nails done. My nails last and have not chipped yet. (It has been 2 weeks!) It's very relaxing and they have stands for your phone if you decide to watch a show. Their designs are great and they gave me exactly what I asked for. Although my sister's mermaid tail design looked nothing like a mermaid tail... I strongly recommend this place if you're looking for lasting nail with great design!

Went here 2x in one week: first time for the manicure and second time for the repair…read more Will I go back? NO The picture of both hands is what we all ideally want but.... Quality of service 1/5 Some ladies translate amongst and for each other and that's okay but what is not okay for them to miscommunicate pricing to the costumer I asked the same question 3x to the person who spoke English: 1. Are those colors the same price? 2. No extra charge? 3. No more money? And the English speaking one said NO and another lady who does not speak English does my manicure and uses cat eye, which ends up being $25 extra at the end I ask them why because I clarified 3x and they gossip in Chinese not knowing I understand it that it was me not willing to pay it so they waived it forcibly and rolled their eyes at me and didn't talk to me. I still tipped 25% and leave $40 gel manicure $10 hard gel extra charge The lady that actually does your nails and not translating the first time? Friendly and that's 1 star The second one named Mia: pretend friendly BUT manipulative "There is morning wrong with our hard gel, your nail is just hard. You should have paid for the $90 UV gel instead of the $50 hard gel" and does NOT pay attention to detail NOR take feedback well Skill 2/5 You can tell they are trained in batches because they all utilize the same technique and it's only good if they are good and it's really bad if it's bad My First Lady: the 2 stars are for her My Second Lady: Paying attention to detail is SO not her skill NOR is taking feedback My Second Lady glued the end extension crooked and refused to take it out so just kept on filing until the nail was too short and not even with others. All other nails are concave. The extension is convex and titled out to an angle way too the left. The top coat from Second Lady: uneven with big dips and bumps and I will NOT wanna go back a 3x to let her fix it. With gel manicures, the top coat is everything and they ruined it I still tipped Second Lady 25% because if you speak up, they scream at you, give you attitude, and the door is locked unless they unlock it remotely Vibe 0/5 They are hot and cold re customer service wise and the second half of the store is under remodeling with some loud thumping. The first half can be more tidy albeit no remodeling. Back hand washing station is overcrowded. Walkway to the bathroom pass the hand washing station is dark Pricing 0/5 If I was paying for quality service and skill, this would have been slightly above average pricing in Flushing but because you get bad service and no attention to detail, it's a 0 Three days later after my first visit, 2 of my nails broke albeit I had hard gel. So the extra $10 for THEIR hard gel won't make a difference versus regular At first they said repair was free 2x but they were going to just paint of over the broken nails with no extension or filing meaning you were gonna have 4 long almond and 1 short square/jagged nail on each hand. And the nail tech proceeded to do that until I told her to please take the gel off my broken infield nail and put an extension on it so all nails are even length and shape and she said $10 for each, so the repair was $20 and not free. That's okay, but to think they really were gonna let you leave the studio like that SMH Also the supposed top coat they give you on all your nails after you repair 2-bumpy and uneven--huge dips and throws all the money you used previously on all other fingers out the window. Gel depends 90% on top coat This is above average pricing in flushing with really sh*tty service and below average skill. Check out Arete Beauty instead! Cheaper (cat eye is an extra $10 not $25) and better skill set and service but make an appointment

I always get Tier 3 or special nail art done and I spend around $130-$150 on my sets. It's quality and I don't mind paying for what I get. I've had almost every nail tech in the salon. But my main girl is Amaya (who is now only at the HON studio). She always takes extra care and time on my nails to ensure everything is properly placed and is built to last. She has never done me wrong!!!! When I get my pedicures at the Rego Park location, my regular polish pedicures are done so well that they will last months... my gel pedicures last for a long time too. Overall, all the nail techs know what they're doing and they do it really well. Everyone is always so kind here and the vibes are always fun. If you go in the morning, it's more calm. For mamas like me, you're going to want that extra calm atmosphere in the morning so make sure you schedule your appointments then. But if you're also like me and you end up scheduling a night time appointment, that can be peaceful too. :)
