My husband bought a new set of sport shocks from an online retailer to replace the stock shocks on his car. When the shocks arrived he took them out of the box and inspected them. He was originally going to install them himself but decided to just have a mechanic do it instead. We live near this place so he decided to take his car there for the work so that he could just walk home. He dropped his car and the shocks off this morning. This afternoon the shop called him to say that they could only replace three of the four shocks because one of the shocks was broken. When my husband arrived at the mechanic's after work they showed him the shock. Part of the top had been sheared off. They denied having broken it but told him that if he had any problems getting a free replacement from the manufacturer to let them know. They also took $50 off the install fee. My husband had planned to ask them for a letter stating that the shock was broken when it arrived so that he could show that to the manufacturer but apparently the person he was speaking to was only semi-literate so my husband decided not to press the issue. We're 99% sure that the mechanic broke the shock and refused to own up to his mistake. His boss admitted that he wasn't 100% sure the mechanic didn't break the part. Also, in the process of installing the shocks and adjusting the alignment, they messed up the previous alignment job my husband just had done at Pep Boys less than a month ago. My husband's car is definitely not in as good of shape as it was when he took it in this morning. Do not use this place if you can avoid it. read more

So many things that I want to write.#1Open and ready to work on my car on a Saturday afternoon. My trunk would not open for me and just stopped in after talking to Mike on the phone to see if they could figure out why..They were able to find the problem and charged me WAY less then I anticipated.And when talking with him, I told him I was going to need an oil change soon and would be back the following week. He explained the importance of having clean oil. And because of that, I decided not to even wait till next week. The waiting area is so calm, and clean and the nicest people to talk with. I wish there were more stars I could give him. This is my go-to place for the rest of the life of this car. I got out of there for under $70.00 for the broken latch on the truck and an oil change. Typical mechanic. We came in for an abs light. Mike let us know the sensor needed to be replaced. Sensor was replaced but light was still on. Told the car needs a master reset. Master reset is apparently unhooking the battery. Called Mike to ask whats going on. Mike says the hub needs to be replaced. I ask why we werent made aware of this prior to work being done. Mike says "because 99.9% of the time its the sensor" except it wasnt the sensor. I ask how they know its the hub. Mike says his dad has a specialty tool to check for that. I ask why they didnt check for that in the first place instead of charging us for a sensor we didnt need. Mike again says "because its like a thunderstorm in June, thats normally the issue" meaning the sensor. So basically, we know it could be this BUT were going to do something else first and if that doesnt work THEN we can check for the literal only other thing it could be. Look, I understand cars can be tricky. Its pretty quick to go down a rabbit hole. But when the guy running the shop decides its better for him to replace a part, accept payment and then, when the light is still on; goes and gets the "specialty tool" only to find that the hub needs replacement is ridiculous. Being honest is really not a difficult task. 2 stars only because Mike didnt talk to me on the phone like im a scumbag, even though he took us for a ride. The way i see it, we paid $120 to find out we should not use this shop anymore and just take the car to the dealer every time. I suggest you take my advice. read more

Mike is my local go-to for auto repair, for about 3 years now. One of the things I first noticed about their shop (at the old location) is that there are a BUNCH of cab drivers that take their cars to Mike. That should tell you something! He has fixed little things (changing my darn headlamp bulb) without ripping me off (about a third of the cost of going to Midas) and also really big things (got rear-ended and had to have some pretty big body and paint work done). I always feel like I get an honest opinion and a fair deal. What more can you ask for? The quality of work is good, and they stand behind it if something goes wrong. I've had a couple of re-dos and I appreciate that when it wasn't perfect they were accountable and made things right. read more

These guys attempted to fix my car which was revving uncontrollably. They first put in a part, and idle air control valve, then said it didn't work after 2 hours of running it, concluded the part was bad. After a couple of hours got another part delivered and after installing it said it was working ok. I got in the car and noticed an indicator light bright red that had never been on in the 2-1/2 years I owned the car. These clowns spent another couple of hours trying to see what they had done to cause the SRS light to stay on. They never figured it out and the shop was closing so I left with the car as I needed to get home and needed my car. Well guess what?? The car still revved maybe even more and worse than before they changed the part. I was going to take it back to them, but I was concerned about how much more damage and what else they might destroy on my car. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM!!! THE WORST MECHANICS IN THE AREA. NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT FIX YOUR CAR THEY WILL BREAK SOMETHING ELSE AND ARE TOO STUPID TO EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY DID WRONG!!! read more

Location is convenient for me and they work pretty fast. I've been there twice and they did a good job both times. Prices were reasonable.

Mike is an excellent mechanic and a good human being. He saves me $$$ and treats me right every time I go in there.

Bear with me, I only came here so that others can avoid my mistake (not doing research) and not waste hundreds of dollars. I came here because my subaru's check engine light was on, knowing that it was a faulty O2 sensor. Mike suggested it could be that and/or a combination of other things. So I let them look at it. They called and let me know that it was not only my O2 sensor but an intake valve solenoid and fuel tank valve solenoid. I asked for an estimate, and with labor included, it was going to be over $1200. I let them know to start working on the intake valve solenoid, and would call again if I wanted them to do everything else. I did some research on the parts and compared prices to what Mike quoted me. For the fuel tank solenoid, he quoted me $600. I found NONE over $300, and later found out the subaru dealer sells them for $160. Are you kidding me?! After I told this guy I am a STUDENT and bringing up the big price difference, he told me "well those are not good quality, made in china parts that would just break." He said his were the "best quality." I took my car to another garage who I talked to about what happened. Turns out other people had gone through similar situations with Forest Park Auto. Moreover, the part Mike wanted to charge me $600 for was a part that doesn't even need to be replaced! Turns out it was a wire that needed to be repaired-cheap fix. SO either Mike saw that and was going to charge me $600 to fix the wire, or was going to replace a part that didn't need to be replaced and waste my money. This honestly is so upsetting for as a student, and also hearing him talk about his children's car decisions and BS he was using to convince me to fix my car with him. Such a lack of integrity and/or know how. Never again. read more

Amazing service - I called Forest Park Auto Repair with a flat tire (or so I thought) and they were able to take me in just two hours later. When I got there they took my car immediately and were done in about 45 minutes - very affordable as well.
