What I like the most about Katts is the honesty of the owner and his mechanics, there were times when I wanted certain work done, (thinking I know more than the mechanics!) and the owner, Mark would tell me "You're Ok!.. the part you questioned is still good and will work for many more miles, save your money! I've been back there 3 or 4 times already over the last year or two and I have to say that this place is without a doubt the best repair place .I've never had a problem with anything these guys have fixed, and they undercut everyone else around. I always asked the owner to explain to me the problem and he seemed so happy to educate me on how the car worked. You can tell he enjoys what he does and it shows in his work. 6/13/16 This place is the worse. My husband took my vehicle here for a rattling noise. You need a muffler they said and also discovered we needed other stuff too. Okay we said. They had the vehicle for 2 1/2 days. The husband picked it up and paid for the work in full as one should. Ya know pay for services rendered. Well my husband for some reason thought to look under the truck and see whats what. Guess what, NO NEW MUFFLER. We paid for a new one. We paid for the labor to install the new one. There it was like it had always been, OUR OLD MUFFLER. Not a new one like they said we needed. But they charged us for one. We did get the charges refunded. Here's the thing. I would not have looked under the truck. The rattle was gone without a new muffler because the clamp was tightened. It was 100% Katts Muffler and Auto robbing us blind. They put their hands in our pockets and took money from us. Who does this kind of thing?? MARK THE OWNER DOES THIS KIND OF THING! My husband said he behaved as if it was no big deal. He didn't see the problem. The manager was mortified. He was not there the day the truck was released and he felt awful, he apologized profusely. Apparently MARK doesn't check the cars that go out, he just does the pick pocketing. Shame on you MARK for being so irresponsible and so dismissive with what happened. Beware if you still decide to go here ask for your parts back and have them put your vehicle on the lift rack so you can examine it yourself!!! read more

Went in on a few occasions to ask to replace bulbs that went out. Could never get a somewhat accurate ETA on when they could even get to such a simple job. The guy at the front desk was particularly condescending and disrespectful. read more

Do not be fooled by the friendly demeanor of this place...as I was. For many years I brought my car here feeling very comfortable knowing I was getting honest reliable service. Over the years, my confidence started to waver as I found that all my brake jobs done by Katts lasted no more than a year in spite of the fact my driving mileage/habits did not change. Turns out they were using the CHEAPEST pads and components, yet I was requesting the best ceramic pads. It was only when I went to another mechanic out of exasperation that I discovered this. I have had my car and friends and family cars repaired here. It has always been a less expensive experience than I anticipated. They are honest and straight forward. I have been coming to this place for about 10 years now but decided to take my business somewhere else after my last visit. One of the mechanics told me I needed a new water pump and that the part is a "dealer item only" part that would cost over 500$ and thats not including labor. The auto part store that I worked at which actually provides them their parts had the part in stock for 110$ retail cost. They will rip you off if you if you don't do your homework before hand and have some type of knowledge on what's being replaced. read more

When I showed up to get work done they made me feel like I had to beg for a favor and that they were doing some huge Grace to me for getting work done. Being a female whose knowledge of cars is slim to none, I was always fearful that I'd be taken advantage of when it came to car repair... well NOT here! They are honest and will not try to tell you you need $500 worth of work when you just wanted an oil change. My family has been coming here for years now. If at the moment you can't afford something, they'll tell you if it can wait or needs to be done urgently. Everything is very fair in pricing and labor. This place is one star based on two factors. First one is that I went in to have my fuel line redone because they had rusted out. Mark gave me a better price than another auto repair shop I checked out so I thought, "Great this place has decent reviews and good prices." Well, since my fuel lines have been redone I've had nothing but problems. The engine light stays on, and my car smells like gas. I also had to have evap canister replaced once and now it seems like I will need it replaced again 4 weeks later. Mark had no idea what he was doing when he took this big job on. If he didn't have a clue then he should have told me from the beginning. Ever since he's redone my fuel line he hasn't been as friendly, and I think it's because he knows he screwed up my car. I've had to take it back 4 times within an 8 month period. Which brings me to the second factor in giving this place one star. Marks attitude is awful. He's a real dick. The last time I took in my car I was explaining to the guy at the front desk how I had just had the evap canister replaced 4 weeks ago because I wasn't able to pump gas into my car without the handle stopping the fuel. Now the same thing was happening all over again. Well, as I'm explaining to the guy at the front desk all the problems I'm having, in walks Mr. Personality Mark. He automatically tells me there's nothing they can do for me and he doesn't want to take anymore of my money. Well, too late for that because you've already robbed me of about $1000. He could have just said, "I'm sorry I'm a wannabe mechanic and don't know what the hell is going on with you're car after screwing it up more." Well, then Mark goes on to say that Hyundai Sonatas have a lot of problems with their exhaust and some other nonsense. Hyundai sonatas are one of the best cars on the market Mark! Then he tells me I need to take my car to the dealee. I ask him if he can at least smoke it to see if they can figure it out and that I only have a quarter of a tank left. I tell him I need to make an appointment with the dealer and I can't just take it in. He says, "Um...we don't have gas here to give you." Well, no shit Sherlock. I'm hoping you can smoke it and figure out what's going on so that I'm at least able to fill my gas tank and make an appt with the dealer. What an idiot. Mark tried humiliating me in front of his coworkers and a customer. What he didn't realize was that he was showing me that he was guilty of screwing up my car and he was incompetent. If you need some simple repairs like an oil change then this is the place for you. Otherwise stay far away. I have an update to this review. After going to my 3rd mechanic my car was finally repaired and it works great. The issue was a bent hose and I purchased a new flex pipe. Sad that some call themselves mechanics then try to give attitude when they can't figure out how to fix a car. read more

I agree with Ron F. They can only change oil noting more!!! I got problem with steering wheel, they said that was problem with my suspension!!!. So they replaced good parts and don't solved the problem. After few complains they admit that they don't know what is wrong with my car. Finally I give up and took my car to the dealer and they fix quickly my car. So service it's good for nothing. read more

My brake line was broken and brake fluid leaked. I towed my car to this place. After one day checking my car, I were asked to pay at least $800 to fix the brake system. They fixed my cars in a few days, then I paid and got my car back. But when I drove 5 hours to Fairfield (Iowa), brake fluid was leaking again. An auto shop there showed me that they used compressors everywhere on the brake line which I paid to replace. That means they combined each small part of brake line by compressors, not use the whole line! I went to an auto garage that I know in Des Moines (Iowa) to check and fix it. One of the screw had been broken and it caused leaking brake fluid. They changed a broken screw of a compressor for me. I drove to Denver (Colorado), went around there a few days and found that brake fluid is leaking again because another screw of a compressor were broken. I had to tow my car to another garage to fix it. DO NOT GO TO KATT'S MUFFLER & AUTO REPAIR!!! They will charge you a lot of money but fix your car in a bad way. read more

Was not happy I had my brakes done their said I need roters but when I went to pick upy car I asked for them they were upset I asked for them they are only to years old and they could of been cut and he argued with me over that then I told them I went to school for auto mechanics and they could be cit he hurred me out I will be contacting the BBB on them they screwed me how many people have they screwed that don't no about cars read more

I have been bringing my cars to Katt's since it was called "Mickey's" back in the mid 1990s.. Everyone who works there is courteous and attentive. More important, this shop is absolutely honest.
