We called AAA and Larry showed up about 45 mins after our call, he was quick and sloppy! We watched in horror when the tow chain tore our minivan's bumper! Larry said he thought it was existing damage! I told him it wasn't and I just watched him do it! His response was Oh sorry about that and kept working. I photographed the damage and reported it to AAA. TAKE VIDEO during the hook up of any tow, lesson learned. read more

I realize that a review like this may not hold much weight since there is not a lot of freedom of choice to be had when having a vehicle towed or recovered, but here it goes. I picked up a motorcycle recovered from an accident by Foresthill Towing, the bike was recovered by them on Dec 2 and retrieved by me from their yard on Dec 4 - tow/storage $517.00 OUCH. At the scene of the accident the recovery crew removed a locked panel, with the key to get to the vehicle registration, but when I picked up the motorcycle a couple days later from their yard that panel was not returned with the rest of the property. I had taken pictures of the bike and related parts that were released before leaving their yard just to have a record. I had not realized that the panel was missing at the time, but when I called them to tell them it was not included in the returned property, they just shrugged it off, telling me that everything they had was given back.. I told them about the pictures but it made no difference. I'm not saying that they kept it on purpose, maybe they left it at the scene, but perhaps they could be less careless with peoples property. This situation has been hard enough for all parties involved without having to worry about the quality of someones work, especially when paying them so much. read more

AAA routed me to Foresthill Towing late tonight. The driver was Jason, don't know his last name but the guy was about 6'8" as a description. I have a really stupid 2008 BMW that is "quirky," to say the least. Anyhow I locked the doors and somehow my remote wouldn't work to unlock them to let me back in. Jason shows up exactly when the dispatch said he would (prompt) and he goes to work to get me into my car. He also starts gently explaining that most BMW's are like Fort Knox when you try and get inside any other way than with the remote or emergency key which I lost last month. I, in my infinite wisdom start getting all bothered by his kindly explanation and get myself in a huff convincing myself he is unsure of what he's doing.. (bad idea as he knew exactly what he was doing). Anyhow he tried everything he could and then took the time to make some calls to people in the know and they all said the same thing, it's almost impossible to get back into a BMW. Meanwhile I'm calling my "jack of all trades" girlfriend who goes onto the internet and sees something about resetting the sensor which is coincidentally what Jason had been saying as well and I blew him off. Well it worked! 3 buttons on the remote fob and if you push them in a certain sequence it will open the car! So although, technically, Jason didn't open it, I'm confident he would have. He was also very careful not to put it into some type of hyper lock mode which he explained only the dealer can get it out of. He treated me very kindly and worked through the problem methodically and carefully. Not to mention he didn't just drive off when I was more than a little short with him. Best service ever, will call this company with or without AAA every time I need help. Total pros! read more

This tow company is absolutely the worst. I have nothing bad to say about the employees but the owner is a total jerk. I had a motorcycle stolen from me and forest hill towing stored it after cops recovered it. I got the phone call about the bike and came to auburn from Santa Cruz to get it. They charged me $345 to get my stolen motorcycle back in my possession!!!! I could only come up with $340 and the owner refused and yelled and would not take a cent less than $345. He is an absolute jerk and the amount of money I was charged was just as criminal as my bike being stolen. I do not recommend this tow company to anyone! Hello so on Thursday night I had my Harley Davidson impounded by Auburn pd my bike was towed to Forrest Hill towing the driver had dropped my bike some how and subsequently damaged my bike when I went to retrieve my Harley notice the scratches and the damage to my throttle houseing and called them on their shabie way of business. Excellent Service. Several times over the years, we and our associates have relied on Foresthill Towing. They have always responded quickly in less then 30 minutes. The last time ten minutes, Jay was there before we returned to the Car on the side of Interstate 80. This time Jason in his company truck and Jay in the Tow truck both came out to professionally remove and Tow our Car with a collapsed front tire from a broken lower control arm assembly. I cannot believe that there are no negative complaints about this company! The way they handled my towing call was unforgivable! Today I was broke down on the side of Interstate 80 with my young daughter-I called AAA that contracted Forest Hill to come out in less than 30 minutes because we were in a highly dangerous situation....as I stood there on the side of the freeway, I saw 2 Foresthill tow trucks drive by, neither were towing anything at the time! An hour and 20 minutes later I received a call by Foresthill that they would be there in 15-20 minutes! By that time Placer County's own roadside service spotted us and towed us off the freeway FREE! They could not believe that we had been waiting OVER AN HOUR in the area we were in! They advised that I complain because of how the service call was handled and I also contacted AAA that had no idea what was going on with their contracted tow service! Experience w/ exceptional tow truck driver of Foresthill Towing that we had the good fortune to meet on Jan. 4 2017. There was a huge storm that day, & we had gone up to Auburn, CA to pick up a dog from the vet after surgery. Just as we were coming into town, the alternator in our car went out, stranding us in pouring rain, on the edge of an intersection in rush hour, a mile from the vet's office. The driver who came for us was Dave Landry & what a blessing he was! He got the car loaded, & because they had just closed I-80 at Auburn due to the storm, Dave ended up driving us & the car to THREE different hotels until we found one that had vacancy! Most in town were full from everyone heading east getting stuck in Auburn. He also gave us the best recommendations for hotels, restaurants AND where to take the car. In all this, he was endlessly patient & wonderful. Service like that deserves recognition! read more

Towed a Customers Car Through AAA From Auburn to Sacramento. AAA Contracted Forest Hill Towing. My Customers Acura Was Stuck In Gear and Would Not Roll. We Notified The Driver of Needing The Skid Pads or Rollers to Pull The Vehicle up onto the Bed. The Driver Proceeded to Pull the Vehicle With Out the Pads or Rollers and Broke My Customers Transmission. Which I heard the Pop Noise as His outer transmission case was cracked. Now sense we used AAA I Figured I would get great service. When I Called I spoke with Jason who in short told me to pound Salt. Now I Own an auto repair shop in sacramento and i know that is not how you handle a situation like this. my customers transmission was destroyed by Foothill towing and Cost almost $5000 Dollars to Replace. I would never recommend this tow company to anyone. We all make mistakes, but it is how you deal with them. Thankfully AAA had my back and will be fighting the battle for me. I Hope they lose their AAA Accreditation Because no one who treats Customers or Their Vehicle That Way Deserves to Fly a AAA Banner.
