I stopped by this shop randomly since I've been feeling like I've been long overdue for more long lasting quality pieces and this place far exceed my expectations. The store has a lot of great reasonably priced options but the best part about the store is Simon who is patient, honest and receptive. Simon was never pushy even and even gave me honest feedback when I was in between three choices (I think one was a pricier option but he still encouraged me to select the more middle priced option). He also saw me try on these same earrings at least 5x right before closing but never rushed me and was extremely transparent about pricing even down to the credit card fee (and allowed me to run out to get cash to avoid paying $50 more). He also polished and buffed some of the scratches out of my other rings for free on top of the repair! The original jeweler I asked for a repair quoted me 3-4 weeks wait. One repair was a tightening of a clip and the other resetting a stone that had fallen out of an earring setting. Both ,the the jeweler and the young associate, possibly his daughter, were welcoming, very friendly and very accommodating. Within 15 minutes, while they offered a complimentary cleaning of the rings I was wearing, my earrings were perfectly repaired. The cost was VERY reasonable. Minus fixing my chain beautifully, I would like to mention what wonderful service I was given. The owner is very kind and quite knowledgable about jewelry. I went in to have my grandfather's necklace fixed up, mainly in the clamp. The owner fixed it in under 30 minutes, and polished everything making it look brand new. He charged me $25, which seemed like a fair price for the work and time that was put into it. I hope to come back soon as they have a gorgeous assortment of jewelry. I 100% recommend Simon for any of your jewelry needs. I needed to add a link to my watch bracelet, and mistakingly took it to another jeweler in the Yorkville neighborhood. That jeweler charged me money, and put the pins in the incorrect way, despite me telling him that the pins had to be inserted a specific way. Disheartened, I looked for other jewelers in the Yorkville area, and came across Simon. By far the best jeweler in Manhattan. I needed my engagement ring resized and looked all over the upper east side for a trusted jeweler. I've never had a really expensive ring like this before so I was very concerned about finding the most trustworthy. On Yelp, Simon already had great reviews, but my first phone call with him and first encounters solidified that he was talented but also a very nice man. I went to his shop the next morning, he advised me it would be better because he wouldn't be as busy. He does most of his clients work while they wait, which is incredible! He did a great job on my ring and I had no problem waiting, chatting with him while he worked. He gave me great advice about how to buy in the future, and we had great conversation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND When I accidentally broke the necklace that my Dad had given me on his deathbed, I was wrecked. I thought it was game-over. Simon was able to fix it in 15 minutes, all while making me laugh & holding a really kind conversation with me. Fair prices on watch and jewelry repair. Quickly done and honest work. I had been holding onto a men's bracelet my gal gave me as a gift months ago but it needed to have a link taken out to be resized. After getting yelled at again to go get it done I finally walked up the block to Simon's. They sell some great jewelry here along with watches too, and they do all kinds of repairs on both. He looked over the bracelet and we decided to take out a few links. He took care of this quickly and for only $10. Was so worth it rather than schlepping down to Macy's where it was purchased. (Macy's also wanted to send it out for two weeks to get resized! Screw that!) A week went by and the crazy weather we have been getting it hit about 60 degrees and I noticed my bracelet got so tight it was cutting off the blood supply to my hand! I went back to Simon's and he added a link back within minutes for me, and also did not charge me anything for this service. That's good biz! Perfect fit now and I'm stylin' and profilin'! I needed an antique watch repaired and based upon these reviews, this is where I went. It was a 1940s vintage French watch and it was a little difficult for them to locate replacement parts, but they called every week or two just to let me know they were working on getting it done. After about four weeks it was ready, good as new, running perfectly and accurately and the gentlemen couldn't have been nicer. Subsequently I took in a ring to be sized and within a few hours they called to let me know it was ready. Now it fits perfectly, they returned the gold link that was removed and the price was very reasonable. Definitely will go here for any jewelry repairs or purchases from now on.
