Walking in, I loved the vibes! It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Vegan review: Things are clearly labeled, there are a few options, environment is lovely. I had maybe the most bibimbap of my life here, and that includes contenders from a number of restaurants in the Atlanta area. It was truly perfect. $8 for adding tofu (maybe 1/4 block lmao) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen financially, but hey it's a tourist area and it was absolutely made with skill & care, so I wasn't even mad. I wanted to love Forgotten Tonic because the menu looked unique, but unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in St. Augustine. First, the seating. The tables are unusually tall, making us feel like little kids trying to sit at the adults' table. It wasn't comfortable for anyone in our group. Then there were the lights. They continuously blinked above our table, and it was so distracting that we asked to move. Unfortunately, the second table had the same issue. I know St. Augustine is famous for its ghosts, but I wasn't expecting them to be playing with the lights at 7:00 p.m. while the sun was still shining! The biggest frustration was ordering. We were told menu items could be modified, but after placing our order the server kept returning one item at a time to tell us they actually couldn't make the requested changes. It would have been much better to know that before ordering. The pickle appetizer was another disappointment. Based on the description, I expected a pickle-forward appetizer. Instead, it was mostly kimchi, pickled onions, and other pickled vegetables with only five slices of actual pickles. I honestly don't have the words to describe how disappointing that dish was. I was also excited to try the tzatziki green beans, but the crisp pickled green beans tasted more like fermented green sticks than an enjoyable side dish. The baked Brie arrived with what I initially thought was melted cheese inside the croissant, but it turned out to be undercooked raw dough. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had just taken a bite of raw dough. I actually started feeling sick before we even left the restaurant. My younger son ordered the house root beer, which tasted extremely watered down. He also had the pasta with added grilled chicken, but the chicken was dark meat, overly shiny, and completely unappetizing to him. I ordered the non-alcoholic Velvet Slippers mocktail. One sip was enough--I honestly can't find the words to describe how unpleasant it tasted. My friend ordered the steak sandwich and requested the peppers be left off. After ordering, she was told they couldn't accommodate that request, so she had to pick the peppers off herself and still didn't enjoy the sandwich. My older son ordered the lamb sirloin. Even though lamb is often served medium-rare, this was so rare it looked like it was still bleating. We paid our bill before dessert because my stomach was already upset. I ended up making one last stop in the restroom before catching up with my family, who were already halfway down the street, ready to forget Forgotten Tonic. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. Love the dimly lit vibe in here! Great crowd of people on a Saturday night. The vodka pasta (with the added chicken thigh) was 12/10 delicious, we cleaned the plate. The chicken thigh skin was perfectly crispy and the flavors were on point. The tuna tartare was just okay, definitely not something I would order again. It was a bit bland and the tuna chunks were too large. Thankfully the pineapple gave it some much needed flavor, along with the crispy wontons to scoop. Wine bottle prices are fantastic here. Yet all of these elements were present at Forgotten Tonic on July 17, 2026! You must try the dill cocktail, it is surprisingly sassy and refreshing. My dining partner and I enjoyed a few appetizers with our drinks at the bar. Try the arancini, it was by far our favorite. The thoughtful design and layout of this cozy space is much appreciated, as well as the nod the the rich historical and artistic past of St. Augustine. Getting a reservation was very difficult and we ended up with a 9:15 pm time but it was absolutely worth it. I found this spot on TikTok while searching for good food with a great vibe and it did not disappoint. We visited during the holiday season and the Christmas decorations were so fun. They even gave us cute Christmas beanies at the table. They make their sodas from scratch which made my daughter very happy. The alligator chili was amazing and a must order. I had the fresh catch which was red snapper in curry sauce with jasmine rice and it was delicious. My husband had the Caesar salad and meatloaf and both were steal a bite good. My daughter enjoyed the pasta and truffle fries. Drinks were great with lemon drops rosé and an Old Fashioned. Tatum our waitress was wonderful and very personable. This bar & restaurant completely flips their indoor setting to be a winter wonderland with a limited edition menu for the holiday season only. My husband and I came for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. For dinner we had the shrimp & grits etoufee and the mussels with chorizo. Both dishes were amazing and left us wanting more. Our server surprised us with a sweet treat to celebrate our anniversary - a chocolate cheesecake that was also very yummy. All of the tables had festive light up hats for customers to take and my koala lala beverage came with a souvenir koala. This place is a gem tucked away on a side street away from busy streets. Many of the staff seemed cheerful and social for our mid-day appetizer. The decor is Christmas to go along with "Nights of Lights", and the food and drink are custom for the occasion as well. The charcuterie could have been on a board rather than a plate but the options were quite good. The meats and cheeses were good choices but missing olives, pickles or something sweet like a jam for the bread, though the pimento was a good spread for the bread. This remains a must-do for anyone in Saint Augustine and it's consistently the first restaurant I mention when asked where to dine in Saint Augustine. The food is always spectacular, the service excellent, and it's a classy but casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating throughout most of the year. At Halloween and Christmas, they go all out with decor and specialty drinks. This time we had the crispy artichoke appetizer and shared the Burrata and Chicken sandwiches. We chose to upgrade to the truffle fries. Everything was on point and excellent. Elite appetizer: Fried Artichokes are an absolute must and not something you see on menu ever. My server recommended the fresh catch of the day and she as on point! First, I was not feeling well (exhaustion, not illness) and needed something light (and onionless) for dinner. I found it in a lovely dinner salad of spinach, creamy feta cheese, and scoops of cantaloupe melon. I took some home, too. Mussels, meatloaf, a chicken hero were greatly enjoyed. The ingredients were fresh and nicely plated. The decor is a bit rustic, I think, with mounted animal heads over the bar area. We stopped in for a quick drink at Forgotten Tonic on Friday night. It's a beautiful spot with a great atmosphere. One side is the bar area and the other side is the restaurant. Both are equally beautiful, i'm interested to check out their food menu. At the bar I got one of their N/A sodas, blackberry lemongrass if I remember correctly. It was fresh and sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. My SO got a cocktail that came in a fun mug shaped like a dudes head. It was a quick stop for us but we enjoyed it! I've been wanting to come here for a while but last year during night of lights they didn't have any open tables. This year, we got lucky and got out on the waitlist and ended up getting an indoor table after about an hour but we didn't mind because we walked around. It was decorated so nicely for Christmas. My friend and I shared the Caesar salad and some meatballs, which were both so delicious and my other friend got truffle fries which were great. I really wanted to try the ube tiramisu because ube and tiramisu are two of my favorite desserts so having them combined was so cool to me. It was probably one of the most authentic Ube desserts I've tried not at a Filipino restaurant, but it was a little different than I expected since the ladyfingers were still hole and it wasn't like actual tiramisu where they're soaked and more like a cake.
