We made a reservation for a Thursday evening and had a wonderful time. Our mixologist was named Talon; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He started by asking us what we usually like to drink (spirits and flavor profiles). Once we gave him the information he needed, Talon proceeded to make us some amazing cocktails. I absolutely loved mine and could have drank them all night. I tried some of my friends' drinks and they were all excellent as well. We ordered several appetizers to share (guacamole, wings, empanadas, and mojo chicharrones), everything was very tasty. Talon came back over to ask us what options we'd like for our second round or drinks, so we all went with something different than the first order. Every cocktail he served us was really good and based on our individual tastes and preferences. I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Odd Birds regularly. The night we were there, they had a secret disco going on in the main dining area which sounded like a fun idea. I loved everything from the drinks, food, and interior decor. The Charlotte 33 Speakeasy area has a very pretty atmosphere as well. read more

We had a reservation for Friday night and had dinner inside the speakeasy. The ambiance was perfect. It was quiet with only a few other tables occupied, so it felt intimate and relaxed. Even getting inside was part of the fun since you enter through a hidden bookcase. One of my favorite parts was the drinks. There isn't a cocktail menu in the speakeasy. Instead, the mixologist comes over, asks you a few questions about what you like and don't like, and then makes something specifically for you. We had four drinks between us and every one was completely different. It actually became a little game trying to guess what was in each drink before they told us. The food was great too. They brought out pork rinds to start and those were AMAZING. For tapas we ordered the tequeños, tuna tostada, wings, and Media Noches Bites. Calling the Media Noches "bites" is almost funny because they were HUGE! We definitely ordered more food than we needed and couldn't even finish everything, but we enjoyed all of it. Between the hidden entrance, quiet atmosphere, food, and having drinks made specifically around our tastes, this ended up being one of our favorite experiences in St. Augustine. Absolutely loved the decor and the vibe. This place maybe great for cocktails, but we came here for a late lunch and we found our food to be quite odd. I had the pork tacos. I liked them, but I did not love them. There was just something missing. My side dish was the sweet plantains, and they were so very odd...black, hard, a little crunchy on some edges which I liked, topped with balsamic glaze and crumbly white (cotija?) cheese...a very odd combination. My friends had the shrimp tacos (they were okay), and the Arepa. The Arepa chicken was dry and lacked flavor and the cheese was hard. Nothing was terrible, but also nothing was anything we'd try again. The entrees were just too m "crafty." The service was great, and again, the decor and vibe were super fun. The food, a pork arepa(ok), my husband's order, and a tuna tostada I liked it much better than I thought i would and the prior pics did not do justice of the size. Service is just ok. Hard to connect with the server. They have their own parking lot here which is convenient since it's in St Augustine and we came right when they opened for dinner so it was not packed at all. I was excited about this restaurant but I went in circles on the menu & couldn't decide. I'm glad I did order what I did. I was ready to leave for whatever reason, but my husband had ordered before me. I think it was due to waiting for the server a while to get back so I can order. read more

We dined in on a reservation. The restaurant was not very busy. We started with the cachapa and guacamole as they were out of tequenos. The cachapa was underwhelming in that it wasn't very crisp though the cheese was melty and delicious. The guacamole was chunky with lots of onion and tomato. Two party members split the parilla grill which was generously sized and all the meat was cooked beautifully. The arepa (with pork) was large and the meat was tender as well as well seasoned. The brussel sprouts were spicy and saucier than they appear on the website. One party member got a tweeting which she said was ginger forward but tasted good. read more

It happened to be a slow night which was a bit of a bummer since we were on a girl's beach weekend and were hoping for more of a lively vibe. Still, I'm so glad we finally got to check this gem out! Oddbirds hosted an Edgar Allan Poe event that was so much fun! Traveling actors did a wonderful job of performing 4 different pieces of his works as well as bus and serve 4 different craft cocktails! Each cocktail was a representation of the prose recited and all were wonderful! I did not take pictures of the drinks as the lighting was dark but each was a unique experience! We loved this place! We booked a 4 p.m. reservation on a Saturday for lunch, but the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived, so reservations may not be necessary for lunchtime. The service was incredibly quick. We were seated immediately, and our server came by right away to take our order. Our drinks arrived in under five minutes, and our food followed about 15 minutes later. The staff was fast, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience even better. The ambiance was another highlight. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with charming Christmas accents sprinkled throughout. There was so much to look at that our eyes kept wandering around the room. The only downside was that it felt a bit warm and humid inside. We had walked about half a mile to get there in the middle of the day, so it took a while to cool off, and the fans didn't seem to help much. The drinks were fantastic! The drinks we ordered had unique flavors that really captured the essence of Florida. They were tropical, bright, and had a delicious coconut-forward profile. For our meal, we ordered the Parilla for Two for $55, and everything on the platter was so good. We loved every component, with the only minor complaint being that the chorizo was a bit too greasy. Other than that, the portion was generous, flavorful, and definitely enough to satisfy two people. We wanted to try more items from the menu, but the platter filled us up completely. This was such a cool and vibey speakeasy! After dinner we went here and I loved it, such chill vibes and great way to relax after dinner. Not many people in the speakeasy because I think everyone was outside of it at the bar and dancing but that's okay! The vibes were great and our server-Bob was awesome! He was familiar with Gainesville and said he knows the owners of blue Highway pizza in tioga so that was cool to hear. Bob did his thing with the mixing and curating of my drinks. I ordered the beef empanadas and Yuka frittas, and they filled me up. I will say the empanadas were pretty juicy/oily, but still delicious. The good: The check books were old books that people were writing messages in which was adorable and the food was pretty good! The bad: I would not recommend coming here if you're NOT planning on drinking. The restaurant was quirky inside and half empty, yet it still took us 50 minutes to get our meals and our server forgot our appetizer(?). She claimed another server grabbed it from the window thinking it was for her table (yes i know this happens sometimes), but our server said the kitchen didn't tell her until our food was ready 50 minutes later? I don't know what kind of server just doesn't check on food for their table, especially when the restaurant is not busy and their food is taking a while. She also forgot to bring out drink refills after she noticed and offered to bring out another coke. The water pitcher also sat empty for a while as she was no where to be seen for periods of time. Very disappointing as some people at the table were only drinking water and one bottle was only enough to fill all of our TINY glasses once. And that's not even the best part!!! (sarcasm) The ceiling fan BROKE during our time there! Yes, you read that right. An arm of the ceiling fan broke off and smacked into the table it was above. Thankfully, the guests who were sitting there had left minutes before and no one was hurt but I feel like that could've seriously injured someone and not really sure how that even happened? Probably not the restaurants fault (maybe bad construction or cutting corners or just a complete defect), but that was definitely the cherry on top of the experience here. read more

Love the location on Anastasia. The food is always top notch. They staff is always super nice and helpful, we had reservations one time and we running late and they were kind enough to hold them for us. They are also pet friendly and have a nice covered patio if you are dinning with your dog, which we have also done. The birria quesadilla and tequenos are my favorite dishes. The speakeasy in the back also has a very cool vibe and the bartenders will surprise you with drinks based on your alcohol preferences. We recently visited and did the valentines cocktail class. The only negative about this experience was that our class was delayed by 30 minutes because the prior class ran over. We also didn't realize we wouldn't get a choice on the food and that it was a prearranged 5 course meal, but the food was still amazing and we enjoyed it.
