I *LOVE* the product they put out above any of the several other KFC places that have recently opened. The pricing is moderate here. On my way back home, I passed through Lowell and decided to stop in at Koto for takeout, later in the evening before closing time. The place wasn't too busy on a hot weeknight. I decided on the Shrimp & Veggie Yaki Udon Noodles ($16 plus tax), which was hot, ready and bagged in a nice looking sealed Koto reusable bag. The food was still hot when I arrived home about 30 minutes later. The portion seemed modest, but expected since I ordered the thick round udon noodles. This dish had a mix of soft udon noodles, carrots, broccoli, onions, red peppers, cabbage, zucchini, and tender shrimp (cleaned). This was our first taste of Cambodian food and we are here for it. I have tried numerous dishes at this place. The rural sour soup with catfish is my favorite there. The broth is so vibrant. The kefir lime leaves give it a beautiful aroma and flavor. The sourness of the broth and the umami (probably from the fish/shrimp paste) is a gift that just won't stop giving. The chunks of catfish take this dish up several notches. The greens are also a great addition and they aren't your typical greens you will find in an American supermarket. These are Cambodian greens. I also liked their pickled mustard green soup with pork ribs and chicken lort noodle. The lort noodles had a great snap to them. Quite unique! Cambodian cuisine is a hidden gem and this place is a great place to try this beautiful cuisine. I recommend giving this place a visit.
