First we walked into this bright happy chill vibe brewery with a large selection of all different varieties on tap. We were immediately greeted by Valerie who explained what they have on tap, that we ordered through the bar, and what their specials were. I ended up having a peach ring drink, he ended up having 2 or 3 beers, and I bought a growler of their spiced imperial to go. We were on a mission to try chili all over Ohio so Valerie recommended the chili beer cheese fries and Cincinnati chili double cheese burger which were out of those world good! It was their own cool twist on Cincinnati's unique version of chili that we loved. I would have bought a growler of that beer cheese if I could haha. I had a fun jalapeño popper fried chicken sandwich special they were offering and it phenomenal, I could have eaten 2. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful with a nice big flavorful crunchy batter. We ate every bit of everything. We can't wait to go back! Amazing everything.

Plus there's an elevator, and they do use the upper level for seating and the restrooms. And of course there's the vault downstairs, for merch. And a drive-through. Friendly service. Basic menu but interesting variations, mainly burgers. However, I heard they had a corndog special, and just couldn't resist. Two corndogs, big meaty dogs covered in corn batter and deep fried. Served with mustard and what seems like fry sauce. Pretty good. Also beer, which I didn't try but the variety of types was tempting. Decent prices. Street parking. Now I'll have to go back for a burger.

I accidentally ordered the wrong sandwich and it came out and obviously I was confused cause I didn't realize I hit the wrong button. She looked at the sandwich and my receipt and helped me figure out my mistake. She went and talked to her manager and gave me the correct sandwich I meant to order. She is absolutely sweet and amazing and is one of the best workers I've ever seen there. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite match the charm. We came in during a rush, but there were several open tables and all were dirty. One even had cleaning supplies left on it. After a few minutes, a table was cleared for our family of five. Service started off fine. Drinks came quickly and the kids loved their milkshakes. Food was a bit mixed. My cheeseburger basket was confusing. Apparently they are slider-sized unless you specify, and mine came out very plain with just bun, burger, and cheese even though I ordered toppings. Other items like the Reuben, bacon burger, and pancake with egg were good. One of my kids could not eat the grilled chicken sandwich because of a strange texture, and her fries were forgotten. There were a lot of little misses. No napkins at first, then only three for five people. Forgotten butter. We had to get up more than once to ask for things. The environment didn't help. It was freezing inside to the point I ended up sitting outside. The bathroom was clean but cluttered with cleaning supplies and equipment, which felt a little odd. There was also a loud speakerphone call happening nearby, and the adjacent table had such a strong cigarette smell that one of my kids went out to the car. Decent food, but the service and environment need some attention.

She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later. Tell Debbie Brian and Candi said hello!!

The table service was excellent; our server was a young lady who was incredibly helpful, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We both agreed that the next time we're anywhere near the Chillicothe area, this place is a must-stop. The smoked brisket was amazing, and the cornbread completely surprised me--I usually don't even like cornbread, but this was absolutely delicious. The pulled pork and potato studs were equally delicious, and the portions were generous, which made the meal even more satisfying. It was a great meal, and we're very happy we decided to come. If you're in or passing through the Chillicothe area, I highly recommend stopping by Old Canal Smokehouse. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for an excellent meal!
