This is definitely the party district of San Diego!!…read more Day or night, this area is rather lively. Lots of different shops, bars, clubs, and restaurants here. I was here during Halloween and it was packed with people that night. The best place to park here, to me, is in the large parking garage next to Petco Park. The whole area is best seen on foot anyhow. There are also some nice hotels here to choose from. The Convention Center and the Trolley are also here, and the Embarcadero is just a short walk away!! Had a very good time here!!

It's also a short walk to the water. This historic neighborhood has a vibrant nightlife. We saw these cool bicycles that you can pay to ride on. They will take you anywhere you want in the area. It's like an Uber, but on a bike! They have it lit up at night. There's new to historic buildings all around. There's rooftop bars and live music. There's plenty of shopping! Big names to boutiques. All different restaurants. High end sit downs, cafes, takeout places, bakeries, ice cream, to coffee shops. I'm probably not giving all the information about this area. There's parking garages. Off street parking is metered. That's hard to find. We parked in Seaport Village. It's a hefty walk, but we just walked and stopped to rest and take pictures!! Other times we just got dropped off!! Overall all, we enjoyed this area for meeting friends and dining. Of course, we loved the older historic buildings.

There were so many people visiting Seaport Village today. We approached from the Embarcadero walkway from the north. As we walked up, there is a sign that welcomes you to Seaport Village overhead. It's always very nice to see that. There are new shops and restaurants that are available. I was amazed at how many restaurants Seaport Village Now has. The Mike Hess Brewing is still there. The fish shop is still there and Mr. Moto's pizza is also still there. However, it was great to see that the shorebird had been remodeled and now is open for business over the water on the right hand side of the walkway. The highlight of our visit was walking by and seeing the Zeta restaurant now open on the walkway with views of the waterfront. Please see my review for the Zytoun restaurant. Please keep in mind that right now. Seaport Village is very, very busy with construction. Most of the businesses are still open however, several of them are in a construction area. The businesses over on the east side of Seaport Village before you get to the Sally's restaurant, are affected by the renovations. Spilled the beans coffee and Mike has tasting room are not affected, but foot traffic is affected. The town Square where they normally have music and entertainment is not affected now they have games somewhat like lawn games available in that square area, but the foot traffic is affected by the construction of the Outer building facing the marina. Ther are so many vendors here now. We actually were able to visit an art gallery, walk over the pond bridge, with ducks and pigeons, peruse through so many cute shops, check out all of the food offerings, and just enjoy the beautiful views of the water at the Embarcadero Marina Park while here. This is a wonderful walk, and with the vendors, and other sites, it ends up being an adventure.

Today, thanks to preservation and a significant renovation completed in 2013, The Headquarters is an open-air shopping center with restaurant and retail spaces surrounding an interior courtyard. We have dined here at three of the restaurants over the last decade and enjoyed some quiet time in the courtyard. It's one of our favorite places to meet friends and bring visitors. The Headquarters is an easy walk from the hotels in the waterfront area. Convention Center and Petco Park are also walkable. The Metro Green Line Seaport Village stop is also a short walk away -- BTW the Trolley is our favorite way to get here. Oh, before I forget. There's a hidden gem here: a free, mini-museum with artifacts from the old police station, including eight original jail cells, and a wall of mug shots. The Piazza is centrally located in Little Italy from the front of India St and the backside of Columbia. There are many chairs and tables to sit at enjoy people watching or one of the many restaurants from the food hall. Alcohol beverages are allowed but not from any outside sources than the food hall. The value for the food and drink prices are a little steep but I must say you are paying for the experiences like no other. There is a beautiful water fountain on the backside of Columbia, and the Piazza is decorated throughout the year based on seasons. From the left facing India, you have the beautiful Vici apartments, and to the right, you have Amici apartments. There are many events here held daily, such as on Thursday nights, they have salsa nights, and they also do trivia nights as well and wine and paint. The best thing to do for events is go to the little Italy page to keep up with the latest events. They even once had a boxing match that was really cool to watch. On Wednesday and Saturdays, they have the little Italy Mercarto market that stretches through the Piazza. The Piazza is also home to Taste of Little Italy, where they hold annual events for the spectacular tasting event. The best time to go is basically anytime you're in the area since you will get different experiences each visit since there is always something going on. If you go early in the morning, you might pass up the little italy crew deep cleaning the Piazza with high-pressure washers and a group of gentlemen playing cards drinking coffee. If you go in the afternoon, you might experience people having lunch outside and school age children passing through while getting out of school. At night time is when the magic happens and everyone comes out. You will see magicians, live music, jazz players, dancers, and a whole lot of pedicabs waiting to offer a ride. The nighttime is beautiful with lights and the glowing fountain. Overall, I can go on and on about the Piazza, but you will just have to see for yourselves since it's so worth checking out. This place is perfect for meetups with friends or having coffee or a nice alcoholic beverage with friends or family. The Piazza will always have a deep place in my heart since I have so many good memories from this ionic place.

You're better off grabbing a Lyft/uber or taking the trolley and then walking the difference. This store has some good stuff but not worth me going out of my way to go to downtown. The staff is okay. As always, every Ross only cares about getting you in and out. Not manners or how to be polite. Pay and leave. God forbid their timer is over how quickly they need to get you in and out that the person at the counter doesn't even have time to grab their stuff and leave before you call the next person in the line. I just always think that's rood and pushy behavior. But I've learned that's how Every Ross operates.

It was bothering me so much that I decided to go downtown to get some new pants. The walk from Gaslamp to this location was not too bad. Some parts felt a little sus but it was broad daylight so it wasn't too bad. I found some longer gym shorts and it was only $8. The attendant was kind enough to let me come back to the dressing room to immediately change into the new pants I got! Security seems tight in the front. It seems like you must get eyeballed by security and you need to show your receipt on the way out. I told them that I'm wearing the pants I just bought and they were totally fine. This Ross was not the best in terms of shopping experience because I felt the store was a bit claustrophobic, but due to my unique experience of needing new pants immediately the staff was very nice about the whole thing!
