    Chicken Marsala
    Scott H.

It was my first time to Columbus, so I asked the gentleman working at the hotel what restaurants he would recommend and Forno was top on his list. Our server was very personable and we asked him his recommendations. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks to start and I ordered the Chicken Marsala for my main. Both dishes were good. The mozz sticks were served with a great pesto sauce and marinara, though some of the sticks lacked cheesiness. The Chicken Marsala was fantastic! The skin was crispy and the meat succulent and juicy. It was served on a bed of mushroom risotto, which was adequate, but not up to par with the chicken and sauce. The restaurant itself is fairly noisy, so carrying a conversation was tough.

We walked into Forno without a reservation and they seated us immediately. Our waitress Angie was so sweet and charming. It's a pizza and pasta place. My daughter and I can't eat that much so we asked to share some of the dishes which they graciously split for us (wouldn't happen in most places in Chicago let me tell you!) Anyway, the pasta was outstanding Al dente without being so creamy it made you full too quickly and the pizza we had had the most delectable crust. The pièce de résistance was actually dessert. Spiked strawberries. DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THIS!. Outstanding and the strawberries made you feel slightly less of a glutton since it's fruit right? If you are in Columbus Ohio, definitely give this place a try

Forno Happy Hour is unmatched. I am always so pleased when I go. The vibe is wonderful, the service is amazing and the food is good! We sat at the bar, windows were open and the breeze was so nice. I am so impressed that I have so many options as a gluten free pescetarian, too! My friend and I almost always get the mussels, I get the pesto pizza and she loves the tuna tacos. Can't wait to return!

If you're in the Short North & craving Italian, Forno should be on your list of go-to's! They have a ton of great pizza options, delicious appetizers and amazing Italian dishes! The atmosphere here is very inviting and lively making this the perfect place for a girls night or casual date night. The service here is spot on and they have a really yummy brunch as well! You can't go wrong with any pizza, dish or cocktail when you come here; you've got to give them a try if you haven't already!

Shoutout to the bartender! My friend and I stopped by on St. Patty's day to grab a green beer and chill after the parade. Another fun time at the Forno bar.

Went on a Friday evening for happy hour. Definitely call before hand or have a reservation wait was about 45mins and that was outside. Food was fantastic wine and mocktails were 10/10 try the kiwi mocktail. Staff were nice. Wouldn't recommend outside seating due to flies becoming bother some but ambiance outdoors was worth it.

Christina was amazing. Always love Forno but this experience with her was next level!!! She was so sweet and had amazing recommendations. My poor friend had a sore throat & was losing her voice and Christina just came with a hot tea, amazing. She had a bunch of recommendations for someone who was dairy free. She honestly made our experience! The was tasty as ever. We tried the special of Chicken alla vodka and let me tell you... that needs to be on the menu full time because it was AMAZING. I recommend this place to everyone and I always enjoy myself!

Love coming here, for sure a Columbus favorite. Great place to come whether you've been here a while or are just visiting. You need to book a reservation about 2 weeks out if you want to come on the weekends between 5:30-9pm for dinner. Our serve Hailey was very attentive and took good care of us. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Had the bursts and the lobster rotini which was enough food to split between 2. Always great vibes here as it's always popping on a weekend night. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped in for a few drinks while visiting Columbus. Has a quintessential pizza/tequila bar vibe, if that makes any sense. Spicy margarita - refreshing and delicious. What really threw me was the extreme amount of ice my bartender, Ian, added to my drinks. Sir, I know they're only $13 but wowser, it doesn't hurt to actually demonstrate your appreciation for your customers. Take out the ice, and I was probably served about 4 good sips. This trend was upheld with my next cocktail, a Strawberry Basil Collins. It was very wine-forward with the taste - so much so, that it overshadowed any strawberry or basil that, allegedly, were included in the drink. The flavor discrepancy wad eclipsed by, again, the extreme amount of ice. Did I hurt you in a previous life, Ian? Did I pillage your village? Kidnap your first-born? Deny you a loan? I thought we it off nicely :-/ Music was on-point, good energy in the establishment, lovely bar but my apparent past-life transgressions toward my bartender compel me to deduct stars...even though He was the victim of my historical brutality.

I had no idea if they had a kids menu so, you're welcome

I was in town on a 3 PM game day but got a day before Saturday resy for 5:30. I'm an Aggie so, sure, whatever, no harm in Ohio State cheers. Free fries for kids, a kids menu with an $8 cheese pizza and a cool plastic kids cup with cars on it. There's a frozen cocktail on the menu (spin on aviation) and some other delicious cocktails. But they don't offer them to go. The scallops were delicious and the kids pizza was thin crust and also super good. It's a win all around with kids.

Maybe the BEST pizza we've had. And we're from St Louis, where there's good pizza to be found (not Imos). We were looking for pizza after my last event in the CrossFit Games as a way to celebrate the end of the competition and give our son a reward for sticking with us all weekend. After passing by several places with "Pizza" signs, I chose Forno because of the Yelp reviews. As usual, Yelp has never guided me wrong!! There was a bit of a wait, but it was very short, I think we got lucky. We were seated at a patio table with plenty of space in the front corner of the small patio area. Our server was immediately taking drink orders and chatting with us, she remained very attentive all night. We quickly ordered our pizzas and a roasted beet salad. The salad was great, perfectly roasted beets with arugula and goat cheese (of course!) Then the pizza arrived. It was amazing. Very bright flavors and more seasoning than most pizzas. The meats ( sausage, pepperoni, and prosciutto) were perfectly crispy and delicious. There were several cheeses on the pizza(as it should be!), and it tasted like a perfect blend. Highly recommend this for the pizza, the service and the overall menu that looks fantastic.

If a reservation is at 5 during happy hour does that mean i get happy hour prices or do i need to sit at the bar area?

    Yer good! Enjoy!

Do I have to make a reservation for a party of 10-12 people?

I think regardless of location, reservation for 10-12 people should always be made.

Can you use carry out and still take part of the happy hour specials?

Unfortunately our happy hour specials are dine in only.

Is there a private room for parties?

Hi Summa! We do have a private room that can hold up to 15 people, or a larger room that can hold up to 30 people. We also rent out the blue side of our restaurant for parties up to 65 people as well. Our rates for these rooms vary based on the day…

Does Forno partner with a delivery service?

We do not. We serve food to-go if you call or stop by the restaurant though!

    Can I make reservations?

Yes, you can make reservations through Open Table on their website!

It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Each to-go bottle was equivalent to 2 drinks and came with a bag of chips. Now that's both cute and awesome. Yesterday we came in after moving into the neighborhood and enjoyed the back patio. What a nice place to spend an evening. Spacious yard with plenty of tables and seating. There was a tarot reader last night too so you could sign up to have a reading. We sat with our pup and enjoyed a couple drinks each while decompressing from a busy weekend of unpacking and settling in. Ordered the goodnight sweet prince which was mezcal with chartreuse, lime, Prosecco, pea flower (which I learned is purple ha). I wanted the drink not sweet and the bar must have run out of syrup for me lol. It was perfect without it. More on tart side but that's how I like it. Second drink was a negroni with dry vermouth. Predictable and always a fave for me. I also tasted a barrel aged whiskey just for fun and it's saying a a lot that I could sip it. I normally cannot drink whiskey but this tasted amazing and too easy to drink. Creative and interesting drinks for a good price. They have beer and wine too if you're not into cocktail. And cbd drinks too! They really have it all. I had to ask the bartender if the wine prices were glass or bottle (we are used to $17-$20 glasses in Seattle) and to my very pleasant surprise learned they are bottle prices. I also saw they had $5 negronis during happy hour and that really spoke to me. We will return often.
