Fort Shafter Bowling Hours as of March 21 2024.

Highly recommend! Staff is super nice, helpful, and friendly!!!! From the check-in to the counter to the food concession. We ordered the cheeseburger with bacon - super falvorful and juicy, fries-super flavorful and crispy and chili hot dog. Mind you, all the food is so cheap compared to all other bowling alleys. Just to give a heads up, before going to Fort Shafter -you need to get a pass from Tripler Hospital (yes, you need to drive to tripler hospital (the big pink hospital 2 miles away from Fort Shafter) . Make sure you have all updated documents (picture ID, registration, safety check, and insurance card) for each person over 18 years old. It is a first come, first serve basis. We went on a Thursday, and there were a lot of leagues. We waited about 1 hour for a lane, but we still got to play 2 games without being on a time limit or rushed. So that is a plus. Friendly staff, reasonable pricing, good food, a clean environment, and a good time!

    Here are their updated hours.

Yes, you do have to go through a security check-point to get on base for the bowling alley if you are non-military/civilian, but it is a pretty quick process as long as you have all the required docs. The staff at the bowling alley are very pleasant. The lanes are clean and the food is YUM. The chicken wings are kind of pricey, but my very picky 8 year old niece loves them and will eat all of them by herself--which is super crazy since she normally eats like a bird. The Philly cheese steak sandwich is delicious. My kids actually really like the chocolate cake. The newly renovated bathrooms are bright and modern. Roy at the bowling shop is very knowledgeable and helpful. The bowling alley and pro shop have updated hours since COVID.

This bowling alley is located on a military base, but it's open to the public. When you drive up to Fort Shafter, there will be a guard at the gate. Show him your ID. He will direct you down the hill to get a pass. Once you reach the building, they will ask to see the papers for the car (registration, safety check, insurance). IF YOUR PAPERS ARE NOT CURRENT, DO NOT COME HERE! If everything is legit, they'll give you a pass to put on your dashboard. The bowling alley is a minute drive from the building that issues the passes. Once you get there, you'll see a sign that says Strike Zone. That's the name of the place. Once inside, it looks like any other bowling alley. It was cosmic bowling today, but the black lights weren't strong enough. I was wearing white but I wasn't glowing. The bowling rates are cheap. It was around $3 a game or $18 per hour per lane. It's $2 to rent shoes. They have 22 lanes. The snack bar prices are reasonable, except for the pizza. I can get cheaper prices at Pizza Hut or Dominos. I wanted to get two slushes. I saw a green one and a pinky one. My husband comes here a lot and said he wanted the Pog one. I assumed the green one was green river. When I ordered, I told the cashier I wanted the Pog and green river slushy. She said ok. When I tasted it, it was Melona. It wasn't bad. I just wanted to let you know that it's not green river. The food aiso wasn't the best. The pizza was mediocre. The garlic fries were soggy and drenched with oil. I had to get napkins to soak up the oil. There wasn't any garlic taste to the fries. You can get full breakfast plates (2 eggs, choice of starch or pancakes, choice of meat) for $5.50. Loco moco is also $5.50. Next time I come here, I'm going to try the breakfast menu.

One of the last bowling alleys left in Honolulu, this place deserves 5 stars for being able to stay open while all the others have shut down. 1. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 2. It's cheap! $2.50/game (regular)or $3/game (cosmic). 3. Metal ramps available for the kids (or adults) who can't carry heavy balls. 4. Gutter bumpers lift up on each side of the lane to make sure the kids always hit at least one pin down each frame. 5. Strike Zone snack bar serves typical bowling food (burgers, fries, pizza, nachos, fried rice, bacon&eggs, etc.) 6. $2 shoe rental. The kids shoes were really cute! Birthday parties: $15/hour per lane To find this place, stay on the main road until you go down the hill and come back up. The bowling alley is located just past Richardson theater, on the left hand side once you get to the top of the hill, in a non-descript one story building next to the fitness center before the Nagorski golf course. Make sure you have a current driver's license (required) but be prepared to show registration/insurance at the check point into Fort Shafter or even have your car frisked. Go to their website for more details and their HOURS for regular/cosmic bowling etc: http://www.mwrarmyhawaii.com/fort-shafter-bowling2 I smell a bowling challenge coming up soon...

Bowling for a cheap price, at $3 a regular game, $3.75 a cosmic game or $18 an hour for cosmic bowling. I would like to bowl here more often. However, if you want to reserve lanes, you must be a military member, and they also have cheaper rates. If you're a civilian like me, you can go, first come first serve, but military members have priority over civilians, so depending on the night, you may have to wait a while before getting a lane, and you need to get a pass by providing your up to date driver's license, insurance, safety check and registration before you enter further into Fort Shafter. The bathrooms only have one stall, so there may be a wait if there's someone taking long before you. Overall, lots of parking and a nice bowling alley with decent food to order while waiting for your turn to bowl.

A lot of games and lights, it's like an upscale fun factory. A different vibe from D&B more of an arcade. They do have a pretty cool sports bar section in the back or in the front, depending in which way you entered. This review is not for the games it is specifically for the bar side. The bar is pretty cool. It has a lot of monitors that are playing sports or other programs. The sitting area aint too big (pic) but I imagine very crowded on the weekends. They even have inhouse bathrooms that wasnt too clean but not nasty either. The food is all bar food such as burgers fries tacos fish and chips etc. I'm not commenting on the drinks because I dont drink. The service was kind of slow, but then again we went on a tuesday just before 5 pm. They had three staff that we could see. A bartender, a waiter, and I guess a host. The staff wasn't overly friendly but pleasant. The food was ok not good or bad just average. The prices was manageable specially it being in the mall and the portions was pretty good. I can see how this would be a cool destination to watch sports or a cool option for a weekend cruise spot.

Lucky Strike is located on the second floor of Ala Moana near Macy's. There are dozens of games to choose from and great for children ages 3 and up mostly. My boyfriend and I visited here with his daughter and she had a blast. After almost an hour of games, we got a bite to eat in the dining area. The dining area has several televisions and bar seating for those who would like to catch nfl, mlb games or even UFC fights. I ordered a Caesar's salad and water. We couldn't catch the happy hour specials but I wasn't upset about it because I knew I needed to eat some veggies lol. The one thing that was disappointing was that they did not have any high chairs or booster seats available for children which is ironic because this place is supposed to be child friendly.

I went with combo that came with their fried chicken and loco moco. While the burger patty could've used more seasoning, the portion size was massive and the gravy was hella good. The fried chicken though, easily the star of the show. So damn good. My partner got the oxtail soup, which was alright. To end the meal we got one of their crunch cake, and I wasn't even hungry but we crushed this. Safe to say we enjoyed it. The service here was great. I think the prices match the portions here. The only thing is they have a lot of leagues. We got there 8:45 am and their lanes were already full. We signed up on the wait list with only one party ahead of us. We ended up waiting an hour half before getting a lane. The lady working the desk was super nice and when asked how many games, suggested two. The kids only wanted to bowl one game so I paid for that plus $5 shoe rentals. They have a 3% convenience fee for using credit cards. Once we started the game, the kids were going through frames quick since they were guttering a bit. They decided they did want to play another game and the lady accommodated the last minute change and added the extra game. The cost did go up to the junior rate of $4.50. They announce that all games must be completed by 11:15 for the early bowl. I enjoyed the old school feel to the bowling alley and it seemed like everyone knew one another there. I ordered 3 bao buns with crispy pork for $15 and a spam and egg sandwich. They were both tasty and the kids loved it! The only downside was it took the entire game before the food was ready as we were leaving.
