Ok so it's a Dave and Buster's style place inside the Ala Moana Mall. That said it's exactly what you might expect. Loud with flashing lights and standard pub food. What you might not realize that some of the pricing for a mall on Oahu it's surprisingly reasonable. This is not gourmet food but standard pub fare which is great for a quick stop when you are hungry. Don't expect much dinner conversation as it is quite loud. I saw comments about service but my experience was fine. We were seated quickly and it did take about 10 minutes to be acknowledged but once we were "noticed" they apologized and the rest of the service was great. read more

Came here on a Wednesday and their games were half off. Had a total of ~$40 and we were able to play a decent amount of games. Before we played though, we grabbed a quick bite. We got a steak to share (you could add rice and/or fries for a charge). The steak was pretty good, we got it medium rare, it was flavorful and so were the mushrooms. The sizzling plate also added onto it. It did take a while for it to come out and since they were super slow the wait felt extra long. We also got the cookie skillet to share and that was pretty good too. I would say this was my first time ever having a skillet cookie so I am unsure how it usually is. I just felt that it would've been better if the cookie was a bit more cooked as it all turned into super sweet mush halfway (with the whipped cream and ice cream) in. read more

Lucky Strike has been a part of Ala Moana for at least 5 years now, offering bowling, arcade games, bar, and American dining similar to a Dave & Busters. We went to originally do bowling to catch up with classmates but on a Sunday, they were booked from 11:00a-4:30p due to prior reservations. Instead, we took advantage of the arcades downstairs and had a lot of fun. It isn't unique as an arcade/bar/dining option, but conveniently located in Ala Moana. I had seen pictures on Yelp and thought they'd be a good add to our menu, NOT so much. Burger sliders were really overcooked and dried out. I feel like the good isn't as good as before. Either new chef or new recipes. Ordered the garlic parm fries and it tasted like regular fries until we got to the end. When you can finally taste the garlic it's covered in a lot of oil. The ribeye steak was okay. I like that it comes on a bed of mushrooms and onions. The steak was medium rare when ordered rare but no issue sine it came on the hot plate. Spread them out and let them sit for a bit it cooked out, they also cut the steak very thin. It was smoking and sizzling but the steak was room temp. Kiki pizza was hot and steamy had to let it cool down before baby could eat it. Loco Coco was good. Took my fiance to lucky strike for dinner and we loved it! The food was really good and the service was awesome, not to mention the great music they were playing last night. I ordered the lemon pepper hot wings and my fiance ordered the bistro bacon burger, and we both shared the mozzarella sticks. The wings were pretty good but I feel like they were pretty small and could have used a little bit more seasoning. But the burger was amazing! It was super juicy and the bistro bacon that was added into it gave it an even more deep flavor, it's juicy and savory and worth the price. I should have definitely ordered that instead haha. The mozzarella sticks were good too and gave a really good cheese pull when we ate it! Our server Chauncey was really nice as well and took really good care of us last night. The vibe in lucky strike is always nice too, they have giant tvs playing which ever game might be on at the time and they have great music playing through out the entire establishment. It was also pretty empty for a Friday night, might be because of the new Dave n busters, so even more of a reason to come here instead! We will for sure be coming back to eat dinner and play some games in the future, especially if we need to plan an event with some friends. Had some time to kill today and what can I say, I'm a glutton for pizza, beer and loud arcade games. We were helped by braddah Quan and as always he does an amazing job assisting other customers, tending bar and running his own food. Service here is kind, personable and always willing to fulfill any requests that you might have. Buffalo chicken pizza which was on the older menu, was doable today by kitchen staff and came out great. Crispy won ton with the poke nachos were delicious, as well as the Caesar salad! Perfect spot to lounge for the game, grab some food or let your keiki run around and spend your hard earned cash on games. Make sure you do the survey and write more reviews for the staff here. I'm happy to update my previous review because our most recent visit was a completely different -- and wonderful -- experience! The service this time was excellent. There were no confusing QR codes or ordering issues, and we had a server who was attentive and accommodating. As someone with a shrimp allergy, I was able to confirm that the oil used for my meal was safe, which gave me peace of mind. Our server even had the kitchen make an off-menu item for our son (buttered noodles, which used to be on the menu), and he was thrilled. The food was delicious -- I enjoyed every bite of my chicken katsu, and my husband loved his platter of mixed appetizers. After dinner, we spent some time enjoying the arcade games, which was a fun treat. The space has a lot of game options for its size, which makes it a perfect after-dinner stop. Even when our server accidentally charged us for something we didn't order, he promptly corrected the mistake and even offered to return his tip. This place has it all. 20+ tv screens one that's as big as my living room. Kids have probably 50-60 different games to play while parents enjoy craft cocktails and high end bar foods at an extremely reasonable price. I recommend any of the burgers, (if you ask they'll make any style you want). My wife goes loco moco but it's large enough to share as are all the entree's. The sushi is surprisingly excellent as well. Be patient as they seem a little short staffed but all in all it's a great experience. read more

We have been frequent visitors to the arcade side of Lucky Strike, but had never tried the food/restaurant side until recently when we were hungry but also wanted to play games without going too far away. Service: greeted immediately by the FOH staff and then was seated. It was a random weekday and so there weren't many patrons but there were some folks dining in and watching some sports channels on the TVs. Inside: There are quite a few tables and chairs along with booth seating and bar seating as well. There are many TVs behind the bar for patron enjoyment. I am so uncomfortable to be writing this. I genuinely have never wrote a bad review for a restaurant in my life. But my friends and I got to lucky strike around 8:30-9pm. (9 of us). We left at 10:40. Mind you this is a Monday night, there weren't many groups, maybe 3-4 at the most including my own. We were sat quickly, our order was taken quickly. But... our food arrived in 3 different intervals, which is normally fine! But it's not okay when the last plate comes nearly an hour later, after everyone else is about finished eating. You might be thinking, why didn't you say anything? The server didn't come back to our table till nearly an hour later, one of our people ordered a drink, he canceled it. My partner had to remind them he didn't get his food yet. No it wasn't anything special, it was bbq wings. A small bowl of just wings, that's all he ordered, and it didn't come for so long. That's not the end of it. It was around 10, 10:20 maybe, when we asked for the check. Yes we split it, so maybe that's where the problem happened?? But it took an additional 15-25 minutes to get to us. I'm all for the benefit of the doubt, this could be a one time thing, they didn't have lots of staff. And we all have those days, right? Seated at 2100, our beverages were ordered with Abby tonight. Following that, we had our apps taken. We sat and waited as the service is usually quick but with tonight, especially getting seated with low capacity our table sat for 40 mins with 2 beverages. Came here recently and I am really surprised at how busy this place still is with DnB on t he opposite end of the mall. Upon entering and surveying the game floor, you realize how small the gaming area is. Maybe it just appears that way because lucky strike is 2 levels verses dnb single level. Overall though, my family still had fun. We got to est and drink and the kids got their okay time in. I would still recommend this place. The service is still great, the food isn't that bad, and the prices are about the same as dnb... we'll maybe a wee bit cheaper because they are older. Although it was a Saturday night, we did wait a bit for a table to eat, but that is expected. I think this is a great place to relax because it won't be as packed as dnb. read more

We recently had our daughter's birthday party there and I'm so glad we did! From start to finish, everything was painless and went super well. The planning process was exceptional, Melody was awesome to communicate with and she made sure everything was set for the party. If you're a serious bowler, Lucky Strike may not be for you. However, if you're into playing arcade games, do a little leisurely bowling, and enjoying drinks, bar food, and talking over the loud arcade atmosphere, Lucky Strike might be for you. We ended up here twice in the past two months because we frequent Ala Moana Center. The first time, we went close to closing time and enjoyed playing games. Like many arcades nowadays, games are played with a reloadable card that you swipe at each machine. The games were dirt cheap and only realized that games were half off because it was a Wednesday. Sound familiar? Yes, one of their major competitors in the area also has Wednesday specials. Our second visit started with a meal. Chauncey was our server and provided us with excellent customer service. He was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. He made sure to check on us frequently, but not hover. The food? Meh. Typical bar food. I had a spicy ahi bowl. It was spicier compared to most other spicy ahi bowls I've had. The kiddos had pizza and sliders. My son devoured his sliders, but the kid's pizza looked and tasted mediocre. The regular-sized pizza was ok. The burgers looked good, and from what I was told, were decent tasting, but not the best. Will I return? Sure. Most likely. Wasn't quite ready to end my day of drinking so our night continued here at Lucky Strike. They are conveniently located at Ala Moana which was a quick uber ride from our hotel. I didn't check out the bowling area since we had just bowled earlier that day, but it was a great spot as the kids had free reign on all the arcade games while the adults could continue to drink. Win win situation if you ask me, haha! I mostly sat at the bar the whole night. It was relatively empty for a holiday weekend evening which was nice. They had a lot of fun drink names and the bartender was friendly. She whipped up our drinks quickly and checked on our needs regularly. The drinks were on the pricier side though, but tasted good! I got a couple of Moscow Mules and a blue drink (can't remember the name). I, of course, tried my hand at the claw machines, but no luck and it wasn't as fun as other arcades I've been to. They're very short and use pins on strings so if you're expecting a real bowling game with true scores, think again. The food was good but expensive and small plates. Terrible service!!! Only 5 tables in the restaurant and 8 seats at the bar seated. Service was slow. We were getting up to get our own drinks from the well. The server was overwhelmed because the manager had them doing side-work because it was slow. Every table suffered. The servers don't work together and don't run each others drinks. The bartenders don't help run drinks. The manager was no where to be found. Then when she came on the floor to meet with a client, she couldn't be bothered. We got our food with no utensils. The manager was there but was too busy to acknowledge me when I was waiving at her. All she had to do was waive and say I'll be there, but she ignored us. Then when she came over, she gave nothing but excuses. She went out of her way to get our server, instead of just grabbing us rollups. It really would've been faster if she just got out roll up's. Just have to say, this manager should be fired. She has no concept of customer service and it will be the downfall of of this establishment. Get rid of her or lose all you customers. read more

Visited the mall while on a week long vacation and stumbled across lucky strike. As an arcade connoisseur I just had to check it out. The games were on the pricer side but I did notice that you could actually win from the claw machines which made it worth it. The staff really nice and was willing to help out with any of the games. Shout to the manager and the arcade technicians. We had such a blast and decided to come back on our last day when we saw a Groupon ($25 for 100 credits). This little joint reminds me of Dave and Busters in California. It's essentially a video and gaming arcade with a large sports bar that holds about 12 fifty inch TVs and a huge screen TV -- all of which show the different sports that are being televised. What's awesome is you let your kids play while you sit, relax, enjoy some eats/drinks and watch your favorite sport. They are on a card-based system of credits, so you pre-pay for a gaming card and it loads it up on points. Each game varies in how many points it costs to play. I spent $100 on two gaming cards and it lasted my 9 and 11 year-olds about an hour and a half. Meanwhile, I enjoyed their juicy chicken tenders and a cocktail. The Caesar salad I opted to barely touch as it was drenched in sauce and I could barely eat it. Came here on a Wednesday evening with a reservation in the bar dining area. We were seated right away. It wasn't too busy when we got there. Tables are spacious with lots of room. We had a party of about 10 people. Once our whole party arrived, we were able to order our food and drinks. The food came out within 15-20mins, so it gave the kids enough time to play a bit. The kids really enjoyed the arcade games. The kid's order of tenders and pizza was a good size for them, they said it was pretty good. The steak my husband liked, and he especially liked that he was able to request to have it without the butter. The Kalua nacho were alright. We said extra sour cream, but it wasn't a lot still. It was also very scarce the Kalua pork so we didn't have pork in every bite. But I mean it was fine. The service, our waiter was good. It appeared that there were only like 2 waiters at the time, plus a hostess, & then like 2 bartenders. So the service was a bit slow. He didn't even check up on us to see if we needed water or anything. Then when we requested our check, it took like 10-15 mins wait just to get it, then like another 10 mins to get it back to sign. The area and games are clean and there's more games that I enjoy and worth the money you're spending. It's also games that you can play for more than a couple minutes. The price of their prizes seem reasonable compared to other prize redeemed places. Although the arcade is great - I feel like the bar is mid. Their menu selection for the BAR food menu isn't as big and the quality is average (I'm looking at other reviews and I see they have a full menu with a larger selection? I've never received a bigger menu in all my visits). I've come here couple times to eat at the bar and it always tastes previously frozen and stuff that they just warm up. We got poke nachos this time so obviously it wouldn't have been hot but overall on the past times, it was room temp food. Idk, my expectations are just high for a place as nice as this. This past visit, the glasses we were drinking out of tasted like straight sanitizer - like they either put too much where it doesn't wash off well, or they just didn't wash it after sanitizing. It's been a couple days and I still feel like I still have that taste lingering in my mouth. My boyfriend got another clean glass and it was the same. Lucky Strike was the perfect place for a good time! After a full day of shopping at the mall we came to grab a bite and play some arcade games with the family. We ordered the loco moco, sliders and a boozy blue island iced tea. The food was delicious and the portions were fantastic! Our server was very nice and brought us extra ranch and buffalo sauce to try with the fries. The little ones missed having more selections on the kid's meal but they were happy to see sliders on the regular menu. The fully loaded arcade never disappoints!
