    Tasty chicken appetizer

I come here every time we vacation in Oahu. It's the true local Hawaiian food experience. The tasty chicken, kalbi and oxtail soup is a must order. No exceptions. The lemon crunch cake if you have room. Unfortunately, the oxtail was very fatty this time.

Braised pork was tender with lots of gravy along with brown rice and macaroni salad in a separate container. The loco moco had an excellent char on the burger and nice rice and gravy mix with the egg. Food is solid and service is good. Suggestion that the take out section (left side) be clearly marked as it may seem like you can just order, pay and sit down wherever you want. Only the tables near the bowling area have signs that say reserved for sit down guests. The sit down side could have a host at the front rather than depending on whichever server is available. If all servers are busy, it makes it appear that no one is there to seat you at all.

I am reviewing based on their food ordered to-go. I was so pleasantly surprised by the tasty chicken. I love sweet & savory sauces for fried chicken, so the tasty chicken was right up my alley (no pun intended). The cakes were also delicious. The lemon crunch cake was certainly a treat.

I always love aiea bowl the bowling, the food, and the deserts I always get the pumpkin crunch before I leave it's so good, the Oxtail soup so Ono And I also like the shoyu porkit's a great place to take the family to eat the staff is awesome sometimes it's busy but it's worth it I used to buy takeout from there before I go home after work at the prison cause it's right down the road

OXTAIL SOUP! Located in the bowling alley, so it will be noisy. But it's great for large groups since they have the space but it is busy. To be forewarned! You obviously know what I order when I come here. But it's not the only thing that's good here. Their chicken and mix plates are good too. But oxtail soup is my choice, it's a good portion and comforting! They also serve it with a sweet savory sesame sauce. So you can dip your oxtail into it for some added flavor. I also like their lemon crunch cake. The cake is light and fluffy and the toffee pieces give it a good crunch.

    Strawberry Crunch Cake...oh so ono!

The Alley Restaurant is always our go-to when we find ourselves on Oahu. Everything we have ever had has been wonderful! So much flavor and tastiness inside this hidden gem. If you find yourself hungry while bowling, or if you just want some serious ono grindz, The Alley has got you covered!

Service: Took a while for us to get served, but they seemed busy. Ambiance: Located inside of a bowling alley, it's noisy but a cool and casual vibe Food: We came here, solely for the oxtail soup. It offered a distinct and rich flavoring. We got it with Saimin (noodles) for an additional $4.

    Strawberry and lemon crunch cakes

Only reviewing this based on dessert although I have had their tasty chicken which I would give a 4 star. Back to the crunch cake...the lemon has been their staple and I always come here just to get it. This is the first time I noticed the strawberry one and the lemon one is still better to me. If you want to eat at the restaurant, it is small and the wait is usually long because it's a popular local spot.

After our flight from LAX to HNL, This was our first stop. It's my first time here and it's been hyped up pretty good by everyone in my party. Kinda reminds me of Gardena Bowl (IYKYK). Got there middle of the day and the staff set up a table for our large party pretty quick. After the long flight, all I wanted was comfort food, so I knew what I was getting, the Loco Moco. The waiter was great and was able to answer our questions and make some good recommendations. The food came out pretty quick and everything was spot on. My Loco Moco - was perfect. The patty was nice and juicy. The eggs were nice and runny. The gravy was perfectly seasoned. Our waiter came back often to check up on us and made sure we were still good. It's located in a stip mall - I can see parking can become an issue depending on the time of day. The food was really good, the service was great. Definitely coming back and trying some of the other items.

Chicken Bowl - sub fried noodles (little extra) worth it!!

Located at the Aiea shopping center- they are level. There's parking on each of the levels.... It's busy. The restaurant has a check-in on the left. Bowling is straight ahead to check in. Usually at least a half an hour wait for seating. Haven't tried anything here that we haven't liked. Tasty Chicken is really good- fried noodles- calamari- waffle fries with gravy- homemade burger- everything is pretty good I really miss the Mama Mia dessert that they had. Stopped after Covid. I wish somebody knew how to make it here.

Hard to believe but one of the best meals we had in this bowling alley. The food was really good with huge portions. The oxtail soup and tasty chicken were delicious! HAPPY OXTAILING!!

Mixed plate with tasty chicken and boneless kalbi
    Hailley O.

We came here on a weeknight for dinner and it hit the spot! I like how they offer a variety of items-from pizza, sandwiches, plate lunches and soups. I ordered the mixed plate with the tasty chicken and boneless kalbi, and it was delicious! Both the chicken and kalbi were flavorful and moist. I also tried the fried calamari and garlic fries appetizers, and those were pretty good as well. They have yummy desserts too! We shared the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and enjoyed it. The service was decent, but overall it's a great casual spot for local food. There's something for everyone!

For a recent life milestone, friends wanted to celebrate at a place that was casual and fun so Aiea Bowl fit the bill. We had such a fun time and I'm amazed in all the years living here I never made it in. It's located right in Aiea, in the highest level of the shopping center. It's easy to park here with plenty of stalls and other little restaurants nearby. It's a super traditional bowling alley, and kept clean and bright. They have lots of lanes, quick and cheap shoe rental ($6), plus the restaurant and bar inside. The food line and alcohol line are separate, but both seemed to move pretty quickly. Prices are reasonable, lots of local food choices like fried chicken and noodles, plus salads and other pupu for sharing. They have lots of shared balls in different weights. They offer bumpers and ramps for the keiki. We all had such a fun time with two hours of rental. I'll definitely be back next time I want to bowl. (First review for 2026)

Saturday hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm then close down and reopen at 5:00ish for the evening customers. Ticket prices are reasonable at $18 for all ages and include the skates. Must bring own socks. If you are not skating and merely a chaperone for young keiki, I didn't get charged. No outside food or flasks allowed. We were there Saturday morning and staff handing out the skates were quick and efficient so it went fast. You just tell them your size shoe and they're back in a flash with the skates. Enough tables and stools to sit down to put on skates. There's also aluminum bleachers on one side for onlookers. But bleachers are cold on your okole so maybe sit on your sweater? A fun live deejay keeps the music going entire time with jokes and other information. Kids and adults enjoy a cordoned off area with "walkers" to hold onto and push yourself around a small area to get the hang of it. Venturing out to the open larger part of rink you can clutch onto rails as you walk around or practice your spins in the middle of rink. There are two staff skate patrollers to enforce rules for the safety of others and they are very good about it and kind. Things like not holding hands in large groups - only a couple are allowed - no holding phones in hands to take pictures while on ice, no carrying of children on the ice, no jumping or racing allowed. Toward end of morning session the deejay turned off majority of lights and disco ball lit up to make it fun! How the kids screamed with glee when this happened. Then they do a limbo contest and the kids line up trying their best to skate under a stick as it gets lower and lower. No prizes given just the fun of participating! Onto the concession. Very nice staff working this area. Standard food like nachos, saimin, pizza and bottled water, hot chocolate available. Not real pricey and it's good to take a break then back to the ice. I noticed many kids not wearing warm items- shorts and tshirts - but evidently all the skating around gets them hot so they don't feel the cold at all. Onlookers beware it's like 40 degrees inside so I dressed warmly. A Pro Shop is available for gloves, hats, skates and other paraphernalia. Lose one star due to employee who wasn't very nice when I bought gloves for granddaughter but didn't fit her so went back right away to exchange and she wouldn't let me. Tersely said "no returns!" It's not like we wore them all day then tried to return. Just wanted to exchange within a couple of minutes of buying for larger pair. That being said I didn't argue, just paid the $6 for another pair. Bathrooms were roomy and clean with padded floors so you could walk in with skates on. Oh and one last thing, if you leave the rink they won't let you come back in without paying. You'll have to buy another ticket. This is to prevent people from buying cheaper or other food outside then returning. They want to keep their concession open so it makes total business sense. Grandparents enjoy babysitting because kids are on ice entire time and you can just watch them with a nice cup of hot chocolate! When the deejay announces they are closing up, there's a mad dash to return skates but all you have to do is plop them down on the counter- no need sign anything or check out with staff. Easy peasy!

We also had pizza and cotton candy to bring home . I guess due to Covid19 it's hard to maintain workers so EK Fernandez have to go on a smaller scale carnival. It was smaller than I could remember way back when . Support local so they can still be in business

This was the third time we tried to visit, and every single time there has been an excuse why my kids couldn't play. We've been told it's full, that there aren't enough kids, or that they could only play for 30 minutes. This time, I called ahead to make sure there was space before driving over. The person I spoke with told me they were open and had plenty of room. I explained that we would arrive in about 30 minutes. He said there was a birthday party starting at 4:00 PM, so my three boys would have 30 minutes to play freely before it got busy, and that they would be fine. When we arrived, we were immediately told they were closed for a party. I explained that I had just called and been told otherwise. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the staff became hostile and accused me of lying, saying, "We don't even have a phone. We haven't had one for months." That's impossible because I called the phone number listed on their Google Business page. Rather than apologizing or trying to figure out what happened, they told us to leave and refused to let my kids play. The customer service was completely unacceptable. Lucas, Jason, and the manager (who refused to give me their name) handled the situation very poorly. Even if there had been a misunderstanding, there was no reason to treat a customer that way. We left and went to Space Room instead, and it turned out to be the best decision. The staff there were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our kids had an amazing time, and the experience was everything we had hoped for. I will never return to Pups of War, and I cannot recommend it based on how we were treated. Save yourself the wasted trip and go somewhere that values its customers.

Check out his stall at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet from 8am-3pm (13C02 Saturdays, 13C28 Sundays,…read more12D20 Wednesdays)! He'll even participate and set up a booth at the conventions or expos if he can, like Kawaii Kon, Comic Con, Hawaii's Collector's Expo, and Collector Megalopolis (hosted in the Pearlridge Malls)! Talk about nostalgic! He has pretty much anything and everything you could think of if you're looking for old retro games and consoles! You name it, he's probably got it! We went there looking for a bunch of PS2 games last Saturday around lunchtime. I think we spent almost a whole hour at his tent just finding a whole bunch of games! He's kind and thorough to check to make sure the games are in good playable condition and makes sure the controllers and consoles work too! He even gets Japanese games in every now and then (he sometimes has the consoles too like the Nintendo DSi)! I found me a nice rare Japanese game that I never thought I would get here in Hawaii (since not too many people know of it)! I thought I would have to get it in Japan again. It really depends on what he gets. He'll post on his Instagram whenever he gets new stuff in and they go quickly so follow him @retromax_hawaii to get the latest updates! He's really great at responding to messages too! Super nice guy! He just got a whole container of stuff while we were shopping at his tent at the swap meet and he was kind enough to let us look through them when they just got there! Go check him out! If you can't find what you're looking for at BOOKOFF, ECOTOWN, IDEAS, BOOKS & MUSIC, or even GAMESTOP, you'll probably find what you're looking for here! It's totally worth the visit!
