Nice people. Limited selection of products. Do not deal Panasonics (couldn't look at GH5), and have tried three times to go in and look at a Sony A6500 but they're always out of stock. Today they only had the A6000, which is four years old now. Maybe it's a Canon store, I don't know. I saw a lot of Canon lenses. Anyway, they are very nice and do try to be helpful, but I am surprised at their limited selection given both Sony and Panasonic cameras are very popular. read more

I'm always impressed with the customer service. I have newborn twins so I print a lot of pictures and obviously the quality is great, but the service is even better. One time I brought both babies in to pick up pictures and the gentleman helping me offered to carry them out to the car for me (I ordered large prints). Today, the babies were sleeping in the car, I called the store and the sweet girl who answered the phone was so gracious and brought the pictures out for me. read more

I really want to help out small local businesses but I find that Fort Worth Camera makes it hard. The employee who sold me insurance on my DSLR couldn't tell me what it was he was selling me. He gave me all sorts of misinformation. I've also had very negative experiences when calling in with questions. As a customer, I don't like feeling like legitimate questions make me a nuisance. Always super helpful. Can sometimes be snooty, but if you're clear you're a beginner they will take time to help you. They're not the cheapest out there, but they do a great job at what they do, so it's understood that the expertise costs a little. They have camera rentals that got me out of a jam a few times too. I came here completely new to buying cameras and no idea what I wanted. After talking with one of the employees (all of whom are friendly), she put in my hands a used camera that was, to my knowledge, exactly what I wanted at just the right price. But to be sure, I called my professional photographer friend (who worked for Star Telegram no less!) to double check. I needed a new lens for my D300 and instead of ordering from B&H or driving over to Arlington camera where I originally bought my camera, I decided to give Fort Worth camera a try. I went in the store around 11:00 am on a weekday and browsed around a while until a woman asked me if I needed help with anything. I showed her the lens that I wanted to buy and she asked one of the other sales associates if they had it in stock. Unfortunately they didn't. The sales associate gave me some other options that I needed to think about. I came back 3 hours later and brought camera in to be serviced since I was having some trouble with spots on the images. Two new sales associate helped me and they both were sweet and helpful. I asked them if they had refurbished Nikkor lenses instock since I was on a budget and they were so gracious to show me the ones that were available. I ended up buying one of the options and I AM SO HAPPY! I got the lens that I wanted and didn't go over my budget. They also serviced my camera and I sure they will do a good job with that as well. I've visited twice and both times they either had all I wanted or at least some, can't say that for some other dfw stores. The store is quite the looker and well placed near the arts district. Above all else I really appreciate the place not looking like a huge pile of stuff, nearly every other camera store I've been in is cramped with just huge stacks of stuff everywhere with little organization. read more

I'm a local professional photographer in DFW and I only shop here. The staff, inventory and facilities at Fort Worth Camera are second to none. Their new building is just plain cool. I know it seems easier to just buy camera equipment online at Amazon, B&H or even Bestbuy, but Fort Worth Camera has always been cheaper and when they weren't they have matched the price. In addition, when you choose those options you miss out on connecting with the photography community and supporting a great local Fort Worth company. But what I really love about Fort Worth Camera is the staff. Every time I go in the staff greets me and is standing by for questions. They are knowledgeable about the products and our craft and have always been able to answer my questions and give suggestions on equipment. They always suggest the products that will work the best for my needs and never try to push the most expensive equipment; they have even talked me off the ledge of buying more expensive equipment when a good cheaper option is available. A great place when you want to pick up some photography gear quickly. I've used their lens rental service several times, and have been quite happy with the lenses they have there. They have a very knowledge and friendly staff, who love discussing photography. The gear is priced higher then what you'd find online, but if you need if for this weekend, or you're not sure what to choose they can definitely help. As other reviewers have stated they have a lousy return policy that they don't bother telling you about until its too late and you come back and try to return something. They told me its on the receipt after I purchased it. Hey guys. Do yourself a favor and come clean by displaying your policy of no returns where it can be seen before the customer makes a purchase. Better yet, train your employees in the Grapevine Store to actually help your customers by being friendly and communicative. I really want to like this place but everytime I go there I feel like I'm being "tolerated" by those who work there. I really just want what I came in for and I want to go, nothing too difficult to supply. I reserved a lens for a shoot one time and then the day of they had given it to someone else. Pretty frustrating. On both occasions I called management in Ft Worth and both times they pretty much could care less. OK. From now on all my photog and video friends will know from me to keep away. I let Ft Worth Camera send my camera and lens to the Canon repair center instead of sending it myself (which Canon would have paid for shipping since it was the 4th time in 2 months sending the camera back for the same problem). The store's General Manager promised me he would stay in touch with Canon's techs and make sure the problem gets solved this time, or he would go to someone higher up in Canon and get it taken care of. He charged me almost $50 in shipping charges for this "help", which is outrageous in itself since I purchased the equipment from Fort Worth Camera. After 3 weeks and no word from Canon or Ft Worth Camera I called The general manager and asked him to check on the camera and see why it is taking so long (Canon promises to have your gear back in most cases within 7 days - and they always have done that in the past with my camera). He basically told me I was too impatient, to not rush Canon so they will do the job right. He said he will call me when the camera comes back. I called again at a later date and talked to another employee who simply told me the camera had not arrived. He did not check, he just told me it had not arrived without even putting me on hold to confirm it. So after 5 weeks I could wait no longer. Something had to be wrong. I called Again to the general manager and told him I need to know what is going on, to call Canon and find out why it is taking so long. He called me back with the news that Fort Worth Camera had received my camera WEEKS earlier, but that "there are a lot of boxes back there so we didn't know it had arrived"! No apology, no explanation as to why someone didn't contact me, just that there were a lot of boxes to go through. Seriously, that was the only explanation I got. Yet, when i was there picking up the camera there were no fewer than five employees standing at the counter laughing a talking, instead of sorting "all those boxes". The worst part is, as I pointed out to him, that when I called him two weeks prior he could have done the simplest check on the camera and found out that Canon had shipped it back. Instead, he chastised me and told me to wait until he called me back. I wonder how long I would have had to wait until he finally decided to check on it on his own?? Finally, when I picked up the camera I gave The general manager the opportunity to explain the poor service, and/or apologize at the very least, but I got neither. What I got was the most arrogant lack of customer service or concern that I have ever gotten from any business. I asked him if he could at least refund my shipping charges to try to show some customer loyalty, but he refused. It's amazing how some "managers" are willing to lose many thousands of dollars in future business just to avoid admitting when they made a mistake. Beware anyone who looks to Fort Worth Camera for help when something you purchase from them needs repairs. You might get a lot more than you bargained for, unfortunately. read more

Before making your purchase consider the fact that they have a "Benefit the store" return policy. If for some reason you aren't 100% happy with the purchase, find it on sale elsewhere or any number of valid reasons for return, too bad. No refunds! Now if you can make it back in 14 days, they will give a you a store gift card. Don't lose it or have your wallet or purse stolen with it in it or you just gave them your money with nothing in return. Returns/refunds are part of owning a business. A no refund policy in a world driven by customer service is a poor policy, and a reason I will never do business with Fort Worth Camera again read more

No Return Policy!!! Check their website. I bought a $400 camera on Friday and was not allowed to return it today (Monday) except for store credit. The salesperson didn't know anything about the camera, told us we had 30 days to return it, and struggled to even ring up the sale. The receipt said we had 14 days for returns. Then today, they refused to do a return even though my husband clearly pointed out the problems we had with it. Now we're stuck with store credit at a store I neither trust nor want to deal with again ever. EXTREMELY IRRITATED!!! read more

We went here basically looking for advice on a new lens for our Canon Cameras. We had every intention to buy online, but wanted to speak with someone knowledgeable about the options before sealing the deal. We pulled up to the store, and expected that it would be a little run down with little stock, but were pleasantly surprised! The place was buzzing with customers when we got there (glad to see a local business getting support). They also had a Canon representative on site, which was very fortunate for us. We had to wait a little while to talk to someone due to the amount of customers in the store, but we made use of the time by shopping for accessories. When we did speak to the Canon rep, as well as an employee of the store, we were treated like a customer should be treated. They didn't hesitate to answer our questions, even letting us get our hands on different camera bodies and different lenses so that we could actually get a feel for what they were talking about. We eventually decided to buy our new camera, lens, two camera bags, etc. that day in store due to the positive experience. While checking out, the manager came up and introduced himself, and was very friendly to both of us. i would say DEFINITELY GO TO THIS STORE FOR ALL YOUR CAMERA NEEDS! read more

This place was a life saver. We had been screwed over by Staples, Office Depot, and a few other Camera shops were not able to print our Wedding photo's. They either had a machine down or had issues with not receiving out photos. We are in a panic with our wedding being The next day and not a successful place to print. We sent the order over at midnight on the 30th of October and called the following morning to be told the would absolutely be able to have out prints done on the 31st even though their normal person who did the enlarges prints was not in. We received all our prints at Noon giving us perfect amount of time to get them to the venues needed. They were very pleasant to work with and the photo quality was excellent especially the 8X10 portrait we were worried the most about. Couldn't have been happier with our prints. read more

I remember I entered to the shop and said "Hi" to the first workers I saw in the right side behind the counters, they were all men. They were speaking between them and all what they did was move their heads (meanwhile they were non stop speaking), look at me from down to up, move their heads back and keep on talking with their co-worker friends and started to laugh. I may say I felt like they were laughing at me, which I found out to be way too gross and it left me a despised feeling from the first moment. Then I walked by the corridor, saw some other older worker man who was speaking with another worker (a girl) and they said nothing at all either, not even "how can I help you?". Nothing. So, I ended up in final crossed countertop where a big tall african-american man attended me for a moment, until some other not happy customer came complaining about some problem with his purchase; So, he left me and went to attend him. I had to wait until he was done with that customer before he came back to attend me again... Meanwhile, he pass by behind the counter and looked at me with a non friendly face, like saying "Oh, you are still there". Bad bad customers service. I surely will never recommend this place to nobody. read more

I went in for a camera cleaning and walked out with a new camera. Sadly I trusted the sales guy instead of doing extensive online research. The camera he praised the world about was reviewed as being the worst on the market. It was "on sale" and I should have realized something was up when another coworker high-fives the guy for selling one. I was taken. I buy 99% of my equipment online from Amazon, B&H or Adorama. Why? Attitudes of local merchants like Fort Worth Camera Supply. The "salespersons" aren't outright rude but they don't engage either especially after they find out you know a little something about photography and own a couple of nice pieces. I've stopped by several times over the years and the 'tude is always the same. Even the owner is stand-offish as if I need them more than they need me. The last time I was in, I mentioned a desire for a new release, "hard to come by" Nikon lens to the salesmen. He checked his computer nd found the company had nothing in stock. Instead of asking for my contact information so that they could call when new stock arrived, he broke away and went over to where the other salespersons were congregated and jawing. read more

I went to the Grapevine store a couple of weeks ago, and dropped ~$1,200 on a new lens. I needed another SD memory card so I also picked up on one from them. What I didn't know is that my wife was picking one up as well, so we decided to use the one she bought and return the one I bought. But when I tried to return the card today, I was told that they only offered "store credit" for returns, period. When I explained to Mark the situation and I had spent a bunch of $ with them, he couldn't have cared less. I thought I was doing the right thing by buying locally and supporting the home team. Not in FW Camera's case. I would have been better off shopping on-line. My mistake. Don't make the same one. read more

I am not as knowledgable as I wish to be with every single camera or lens, but I know enough to communicate with the staff & ask reasonable questions to BECOME more knowledgable. anyway, I LOVE the store. I am very passionate about cameras, old & new... and just photography in general. However, the staff all 3 times I've been in have been extremely rude. I don't understand what it is. I've thought, maybe it's me? lol. But that wouldn't make sense considering I was only asking simple questions about lens recommendations and pricing in comparison on new & used body. Out of all the camera stores I've been to in the metroplex, Denton Camera Exchange is my favorite, as well as Arlington Camera & this is sadly my least. It's so close to my house and I want to love it. Great equipment, locations, etc... Staff should work on being a little more friendly, that's all :) read more
