For 4 adults the price was around $60 so it was reasonably priced. The entranceway also has a cool koi pond. However, the food is terrible. A lot of the foods sitting out were cold, very questionable looking, and sitting in grease. In the back is a "hibachi" area with cold foods such as chicken, eggs, shrimp, and noodles. None of it was sitting on ice so it was most likely all spoiled. We all left with stomach aches. Please don't go here. read more

My husband and I went to the Fortune Buffet today after not being able to go during the Covid 19 shutdowns. We had always enjoyed their food and service in the past; however, today was a disappointment. I went to the buffet and fixed my plate with lo mein noodles, pork fried rice, coated chicken and a pork eggroll. When I got back to the table everything was cold. It was like it was just put out and never heated. I was extremely disappointed. My husband had always enjoyed the crab legs and frog legs, in the past. They were not on the buffet today. He had a lobster roll (but no lobster in it) and imitation seafood (which was not labeled that way). His rice was also cold, the chicken wings were fine. The ice cream needs to be scooped out with a serving spoon which is laying in a tub of water. They had an ice cream machine in the past which was much more sanitary. We will not be returning to the restaurant any time soon. read more

While in the area for business, I struck out to look for something to eat as there was nothing around my hotel. Using my Yelp app, I found this venue and seeing as it was a buffet I gave it a try. Lots of lights on the outside so it's hard to miss. I went in and there is a spacious entry with a fountain/statue area and the counter/register. I was promptly shown to a seat as there were not many people in there at this time (it was going on 9pm I'd say). I made my drink selection and off to the buffet I went. The buffet itself does not stick to a Chinese only type of selection, but it is a very wide variety of selection to choose from...no small buffet but quite a few stations to visit. I noticed such items as pizza, fried chicken, mac n' cheese, soft serve ice cream, etc. as well as the normal Americanized Chinese standbys. Most of the selections were ok, no big standouts to report except I did groove on some chicken with broccoli here. It was pretty tasty. Service was adequate, nothing out of the ordinary to report. Bottom line: OK buffet type selections, more than just Americanized Chinese to choose from as outlined above. If you are hungry, you can find plenty to choose from to try to get your fill. read more

This is the "ok" buffet in town. The hibachi isn't bad but the buffet food sucks compared to new kam Bo downtown. They overcharge for dinner and advertise crab and steamed clams. This is a rip off. Who the hell steams crab and clams and then serves them on ice??? Someone that really doesn't want to sell crab and clams.....that's who. I don't know what upsets me more. Lunch buffet is only $5.99! Where else will I find this deal? Found this gem on our cross country try road trip. Why go to Chinese take out for lunch special when you can eat all you want for this price. 6 -7 buffet areas (American, Chinese, salad and cold dishes, appetizers, fruits, dessert). They also have some sushi rolls. Hibachi station in the back. Ice cream soft serve machine and regular ice cream (6 flavors). No waiting in line, lots of seating. This is an okay Chinese buffet that makes a rule and makes it own. The rule it breaks is not having any tofu. There are even very few just vegetables items on this buffet. And this is why I was kinda surprised it wasn't that great for vegetarians. They also make their own rule by Americanize the buffet, which makes sense for Bradford county. There is pizza, mac and cheese, ice cream and incase you didn't like any of the Chinese chicken options (and there are many,) they also have standard fried chicken too. My favorite part of this buffet was the hibachi grill. And the supporting servers were also helpful. But overall, it was just okay for this vegetarian. read more

Best Chinese buffet in a 40mile radius. So, Binghamton, Ithaca, and Elmira/Corning have nothing on Fortune Buffet. HOWEVER, keep in mind we are talking buffets and the bar is overall set pretty low. I have gone to much better Chinese buffets elsewhere and normal sit down/delivery restaurants will usually beat a buffet. Locally, Ulike in Athens is by far the best. Anyone who says otherwise needs to live outside The Valley for a while. To temper that fervor, I will add that Ulike's Thai options could be better, but no one else offers the Thai basics. Back to Fortune, they are friendly wait staff with a dismissive or downright creepy sushi/habachi guy depending on the shift. You shouldn't have high expectations anyway, it's a buffet, but Fortune is pretty darn good! I hope "Tom" never stops rocking the Santa hat. read more

The staff is great , friendly and accommodating (we were a large group of 20+). They are quick to check on customers , whether is to take your order, to clean up dirty dishes or refill your drinks. You are encountered with a water fountain filled with beautiful koi fish. Once you are in the main dinning area you will notice that its large and we were able to sit in different groups. The buffet is large with plenty of choices. They also have a dessert area where the kids had fun in choosing their ice creams. They also have a hibachi in the rear of the restaurant. They will prepare any concoction with the choices of vegetables and proteins per your request. For example someone on our group is on a strict diet where he couldn't anything cooked in grease. He was able to eat all the vegetables and seafood prepared just for him the way it needed to be cooked. The hibachi was my favorite part of the restaurant. The food is tasty and the restaurant is clean. The price was perfect as well. read more

This place recently opened and we had to try it out. The place is brand new so it is spotlessly clean and fresh. The buffet selection is quite impressive with a great selection of Chinese, Japanese and American food.. They even have fried frogs legs if that's your thing. We went at dinner time and there was a good selection of fresh seafood. Food was very tasty and buffet was kept full as it was rather crowded on a Saturday evening. For Sayre, PA, there are 2 Chinese buffets: Fortune and Grace Chinese buffet. I had gone to Grace Chinese Buffet because the buffet looked larger outwardly. However, Fortune Buffet is MUCH better than Grace Chinese Buffet due to the following reasons: Taste & Quality, Cleanliness, and Price. Go to Fortune Buffet ok the weekends (fresher food and other popular food items are available only on the weekend such as coconut shrimp and BBQ ribs). Go to Grace Chinese Buffet during the weekdays because it is better on the weekdays taste wise. Taste & Quality: Every item that I tried at Fortune Buffet tasted above average and good, in comparison to Grace Chinese. At Grace Chinese, I would limit myself to certain foods because the rest of the food was subpar. Eating food is ALL about taste. The food here tastes superior. Cleanliness/Appearance: Outwardly, Fortune Buffet looks like it is smaller because it is in a plaza while Grace Chinese is it's own building. However, upon entering Fortune Buffet, you will find yourself in another world. It is large inside. It is also CLEAN. I LOVE clean. They have a pond at the entrance with fish in it as well. With any restaurant, you're going to have your off days where the food just isn't the best it has been. More often than not, Fortune Buffet has great food. It has diversity (pizza, for example), which is great for my younger kids that tend to be a little picky when it comes to what they eat. The waitresses are amazing. They are always friendly, especially with children. Just today I saw a waitress give an elderly woman a hug as she left, referred to her by name, and told her she'd see her Monday. That shows they get to know their regular customers. They are quick to check on customers, whether it's for refills or to clear dirty plates away. I've never had a time that they didn't greet me as I came in, or say goodbye as I left. A great group of people! read more

Good Chinese - Not Fortune buffet has ok sushi and they have the hibachi but their food lacks flavor General Tso's chicken was not spicy at all their food is bland. Their wait staff is not personable at all sometimes rude you need to make sure you get the right drink back because I got one with a chewed straw in it and I don't chew my straw. I love eating here. Every time my family and I go, the staff is always quick, and friendly. The place was really nice a few years ago when it first opened but now the seating is starting to show lots of wear. The seats are ripped on mostly all chairs. Some holes are not covered, others have some tape over them. But the food is good. I wish they would change them menu on occasion. I love pepper steak and they have never offered it for as far back as I can remember. They also have Hibachi grill and some sushi. Also some American foods but again I wish they would switch them up and not much for dessert in my book. But all in all, I'd eat here over Grace's any day! read more

We went there tonight. The food in the buffet was so-so. They used to have a soft serve ice cream machine but now it is gone. The owners say they are not going to replace it but now instead they have the open tubs of ice cream with the scoops soaking in that disgusting water to soak that gets cloudier and cloudier. I refuse to eat the ice cream from those open tubs when you see men with big hairy arms reaching deep in there to scoop out ice cream or kids who wipe their noses right before they drop the scoop down into the tub and fish it out with their bare hands. Wise up and understand that as a restaurant it's worth it to not lose customers over the price of an ice cream machine. read more

Inside this place appears pretty nice. When you walk in a nice large coy pond greets you. As you are seated you see just how large this buffet is. There really is a lot to pick from. This might be the largest buffet I've been to in terms of the amount of different food items. There is a meat station, salad bar, Chinese, seafood, and American food. There's also a sushi bar and stir fry station. Don't forget the desert, there was an area with cakes, an area with fruits, and of course ice cream. With so much to pick from this must be the best most amazing place ever right? Wrong. I sampled three plates of food, small portions of lots of items. I doubt I actually ate half a plates worth. One bite of most things was enough to let me know I didn't like it. The one thing I really enjoy is stir fry and even that was bad here. Flavorless frozen meat is cooked too hot too fast to become tough and chewy. Not sure if the chef didn't use enough sauce or the sauce is bad but the teriyaki was flavorless. We have been to the Fortune Buffet several times for lunch and dinner, and generally speaking were happy with the service and selection they offered...until our last visit today. When they bring you the check, in the past you had the opportunity of paying up at the counter when you were leaving. They now bring you the check and then come back to the table expecting you to pay; this normally would not be a big deal and is the norm at other restaurants. After giving the girl our credit card to process, she returned with the card and receipt and hovers right over you at the table to see if / how much of a tip you give (this is the 2nd consecutive visit where this occurred). This makes it very awkward and uncomfortable for the customer when they are right next to you watching how much of a tip you allocate on the receipt for them. After figuring out the tip and signing the receipt, the girl made a smirk and walked away shaking her head in disappointment, completely unprofessional. You feel pressured into leaving a tip (when all they do is take away your plates and bring you your drink) or leaving a tip that is higher than you might have otherwise without feeling pressured. Literally the most disgusting restaurant I have ever seen. How has this place not been shut down? I've never been a fan of the place, but it's my daughter's favorite (because of the filthy fish pond). We decided to go there for dinner. Food had been sitting there for hours, did not even look edible. There is a sign over one station saying "lunch customers: do not eat this food after 3:30" it's the customer's responsibility to not eat this food, rather than have wait staff remove it? Really? I've eaten here many times and for the most part left quite satisfied. However, I seldom eat any seafood that I would normally dip in melted butter because, THEY USE BUTTER-FLAVORED COOKING OIL, NOT BUTTER OR MARGARINE; it tastes horrible!!! So, I go weeknights and at lunchtime when it's cheaper because the seafood is not on the line. And the Mongolian BBQ (some call it a hitachi or hibachi) line is a positive. Wish Grace Buffet across the street served more seafood and had a Mongolian BBQ line.
