I just had my son's 5th birthday today so I'm still on a high from how much fun the party was and it was in huge part to Korene and Fortune Kookie Fun! Korene joined us for 2 hours and performed face painting and balloon twisting. She is a PRO with these kids' birthday parties. She is SO organized! Amongst the chaos, she never once lost her cool. She has her system DOWN! We had 26 three to five year olds running around with 5 - 10 of them hovering around the balloon/face painting station at any given time perusing the awesome menu of popular face painting styles and balloon characters which made it easy for the kids to choose exactly what they wanted and to move through the waitlist quickly! Most of the kids opted to do the face painting so I didn't get to see all the epic balloon characters that others have written about, however Korene made an INSANE Thomas the train balloon for my son before the party and presented it to him when she arrived. It was truly a piece of art! We were so impressed by Korene at a different birthday party we attended that we booked her for our birthday. My daughter took one of her business cards from that party and used clear packing tape to tape it to her shirt after the event, and wouldn't let us take it off. I hired Korene last October, 2020, to entertain at my five year old granddaughter's birthday party. I paid Korene her $100 deposit. Because of Covid, we needed to cancel. Korene told me I had 6 months to rebook. In October of 2020, I attempted to book Korene for my grandson's third birthday. He lives in Santa Rosa and Korene doesn't travel that far. Also, Korene told me six months had passed and after October, my $100 deposit would no longer be valid. I was disappointed because Covid interfered with my original birthday plans for my granddaughter and now I would lose my deposit. So now we are a year later and I wanted to hire Korene to entertain at my granddaughter's sixth birthday party. I was hoping she would honor the $100 she's held onto for one year and I would happily pay her whatever additional fee she charges. I would also have written Korene a wonderful review and referred her to many friends who have grandchildren: I reached out to Korene twice via email and she hasn't even responded with a yes or a no. We have all been affected by Covid and this has been a challenging year. I am disheartened by Korene's failure to get back to me, I'm disheartened that she wouldn't want to work with me and make good on the deposit I gave her in good faith. We first saw Korene as Mrs. Claus at the Embarcadero Building Lighting in November. It was POURING rain, a lot of the festivities were cancelled, and Korene was right near the skating rink and was beseiged by kids and parents who were determined to save something from the evening, which meant she was inundated with requests for balloon animals.
