I've been going to Forum Bowling Lanes - FBL - for 3- months. Fantastic "bowling alley" menu. The atmosphere is inviting. Nice and clean well- maintained lanes, which do present some challenges. Not sure if bowling was a "thing" for me, on my first visit I used a house ball and rented shoes. Due to my experiences at FBL, I've developed a deep passion for the sport of bowling. I now own two custom-made bowling balls and two pairs of bowling shoes. I've learned I have a lot to learn. My intentions are to develop my game at FBL. There is a great pro-shop on the premises. My friends in Arlington took me here on a Saturday afternoon. A tournament had been underway at the time but half of the lanes (about 45 total) were still vacant at the time. They looked spotless and the seating area felt acceptably clean. I didn't use the provided balls, but they looked like the standard casual-player ones that don't spin easily. Their usual prices are also okay for a Saturday before 6pm -- $20 per lane per hour and $5 for shoe rentals. Check their Facebook for occasional deals. I recommend grabbing 3 of your buddies to split the cost. All in all, a solid bowling alley. It gets the job done for a fun night out. read more

I came by today with my family and service is not good. There is no clear sign of prices. Only the lady at the services desk verbally telling us and with attitude when we asked for the prices again. After we gotten the lanes they failed to listen to my aunts request to put bumpers on the lane her kids are bowling on. On top of that a few of us were hungry so we went to cafe and the lady there was rude as well. I don't know what it is with the employees here, but they seem miserable and are not welcoming. To add to the lanes are very outdated, there is no music and the shoes have rips and holes. read more

I just started bowling recently and out of all the places in the area Forum is already my favorite place. It's a no nonsense bowling lane that doesn't need big screens, annoying lights, and gimmicks to keep peoples attention. I'm not skilled enough to comment on the lane conditions but I've had fun every time I've gone. I was thinking about leaving a two star review just based on the staff but that's probably an unfair score considering most of the time the staff was friendly enough. Today the woman working the counter this morning was incredibly rude because I didn't realize she was talking to me when she told me to leave my card in the machine. I was distracted because the machine told me my card was expired. It was the very beginning of the day. I think I was the second or third customer and there's no way she was having a long day already but that's how she was acting. I do not expect anyone to go above and beyond for me, but she didn't even try to exert a bare minimum effort to be nice. I'm going to be back. I really like this bowling alley. First time back since bowling in the Quaker State Open in1988. Asked the Lady at the front desk if I could bowl on the championship pair 39-40. So I got to bowl on lane 40. The first thing I noticed right away is the strange pin action if you hit light on the pocket. Expecting to rip the rack and twice I left the 4-8-10 and once left the 4-10 on a light pocket hit. The pins acted like they were plastic like the twisters. The other drawback was the backends didn't react like I expected with fresh lane conditions. Before I left I asked the Lady at the desk if there were any pictures from the 1988 Quaker State Open hanging on a wall? She looked at me like I was bothering her. She replied "no" in a way that It's like the PBA history and memories were completely forgotten. read more

We tried going to Forum Bowl at 2:00 on Sunday and were told we'd have to wait til 3:30 or 4:00 because of a tournament. There were a lot of empty lanes. Not sure why we couldn't use one, but my main complaint was the attitude of the lady at the counter. When I said we checked the web site and there was no mention of a tournament and no way to make a reservation she just said it's like this every weekend and we should have called ahead. She wasn't friendly or sympathetic about our frustration. She really just doesn't care. She didn't use the words "This is your own fault" but that is absolutely what her attitude told us. read more

One thing to take into consideration when you come here is location and the age of the place. So it's in Grand Prairie and the city doesn't regulate smokers so yes they smoke in there. I didn't see anyone smoking but the smell is in the air and it's upsetting because this is a family place and children are present and they don't need to be inhaling someone else's poison. I like that this is a bowling alley and just that with a small arcade and concessions. Went here on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded there was no wait. The only downside is the balls need maintenance,they are old so most are unmarked, and it's dark so its hard to know what weight they are. Staff was nice and I liked that when our ball didn't make it all the way (baby ball) someone showed up immediately and took care of it. read more

Visited Forum to volunteer at a fundraising event. This place is outdated and old and could use a completely new look, but the bowlers who came for the event had a great time. There are 60 lanes and a small arcade. In the arcade you'll find an air hockey table, motorcycle racing games, a boxing game, and a few shooting games. The air does slightly reek of smoke, but it wasn't as bad as other places I've been; I still felt like I could breathe! I noticed that Roller World is across the street, so if you're feeling adventurous, you could hit both! We'll be back for the $1.50 Monday/Thursday game nights (from 9p-close), can't beat that! read more

This place used to impress me. Today I was appalled at the fact the lady at the counter would not allow me to bring in my children's water cups. She said the recently changed policy, stated no outside drinks. I've been bringing my kids here for over three years. I would highly recommend management to review this policy. I only come here on Monday's, however, this is my favorite bowling alley! The smell inside is all too familiar, fried food and cigarettes. The arcade, the restrooms, the balls, everything here is the same as it had been for years. They have daily deals and my favorite one has to be on Monday's ($1.50/game + $3.50/shoes after 9pm) which is what I basically did every week all four years of high school during summer break. Remember to call early to reserve lanes because the list can get loooooooong. They start taking calls at 5pm I believe. They do have concessions and over the years they have up'ed their prices a bit, but you're getting what you pay for. Nothing too crazy expensive. I recommend the funnel cakes! Super good. All in all, if you want to go to a real, authentic, bowling alley, this one is for you! Expect value, not luxury! read more

This place is the epitome of an old school bowling alley. If you are looking for a bougie, pristine and shiny new facility with your own personal waitstaff then look elsewhere, but if you long for a good Ol' vintage and nostalgic bowling alley that has been around since the 70's then this your place. Some of the previous reviews state that this place is ran down and reeks of cigarette smoke- while it is an older establishment- it is not ran down- and it does not reek of cigarette smoke- there is a separate bar that is closed off from the bowling alley where I believe you can smoke, but there is no smoking in the bowling alley itself. The bar offers drink specials daily that change every week and then there is a separate cafe that provides tasty concession type delicacies - such as nachos, cheeseburgers, tater tots, fries, chicken strip basket, etc. We ordered nachos, a chicken strip basket with tater tots and a double cheeseburger with chili cheese tots- it was delicious! Everything cooked to perfection and the staff behind the counter are great! We really enjoyed our visit and will be back- as a bonus we learned that there is also an indoor roller skating rink across the street....so go bowl and then head across the street for adult night at the roller skating rink. read more

First time here and it was so much fun. I brought my fiancé and two year old daughter and we had a BLAST! The nachos and tea were a great snack! The gentleman watching the lanes was very helpful when my daughter made a mistake or got the ball stuck. He even provided us with a ramp she could roll her ball down. The prices are perfect for this vintage bowling alley. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because of the lady behind the counter when we first walked in. Hubby and I went bowling last night. This place has reasonable prices. We paid $17 TOTAL for an hour on the bowling lane, two shoe rentals, and a pair of socks for me. The place is definitely an older bowling alley, but it is clean. There were lots of people there and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The only downfall I experienced was the smoke. This is not a smoke free establishment, so if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this place could cause a problem. read more

Went with two girlfriends on a Monday night at around 10:30ish. The special was $1.50/per game per person. Cheap! Shoes were $3.50. Overall we had a good time! The alley is very out-dated and old. And oddly they allow smoking on the inside (new to me). We were swamped with creepy dudes hitting on us, lol but whatever. I would like to bowl at a nicer alley but this was cheap and gave us something to do. Pluse, you can call ahead and reserve a lane so you don't have to wait like we did, which was for only about 10mins. Bathroom was dirty btw if your a neat freak. The staff were all SUPER friendly! I stop in here and bowl maybe three or four times a month. The lady behind the desk is always very kind to me and the bowling facilities seem adequate for someone of my skill level (avg 180). However, today I have been greatly disappointed. It is 4:30 PM on Monday. The parking lot has seven cars in it. I walked in with all my gear and thought to myself, wow this place is really dead. There wasn't a single person bowling on any Lane. The lady behind the desk told me there were no lanes available because they had league today. I understand that league bowling makes a lot of money for the facility, but turning away someone who is there to spend money, when you don't have a single person Bowling in your entire facility makes absolutely no sense to me. I would rather her have given me a time limit even if it was only 20 minutes rather than just turn me away. This place just went on my shit list. read more

My wife and I have been going to Forum Bowling for years now. it is also where my father and mother used to go when I was a kid ( i'm 44 now). Yes the building is old, but has been in business for years. It is a great place to go and have a good time with the family, especially with our kids and grandkid's. The rate are inexpensive also. To the Smoking issue so many complain about. It is refreshing that the owners and the city believe in everyone's right to smoke or not smoke. They do take into consideration the kids and the Youth league's, by not allowing smoking in the bowling alley during those times. Or putting Smokers at the other end of the alley from non-smoking league's. We usually go on Sunday mornings before leagues start, and pay by the hour. $10.00 an hour for 1 to how ever many people is in your party, usually 5 of us for 2 hours. That is $20.00 total, verse's $3.50 per person per game. read more

They had a tournament going but had one open lane (I asserted myself into the employee conversation to find out ) . I get the tournament is priority but with 6 people behind the counter not one person paid any attention to us. After 5-6 minutes of standing in front of these people I realized it was a fruitless effort. If you have an open lane, rent it, if you need to close off the whole alley then do so. The facility was kept clean; they had cold beer; the food was good; overall just a great place to go and unwind after work and have a little fun. Everything was reasonably priced. Unfortunately we are not able to enjoy our hometown bowing alley due to the amount of cigarette smoke. Somehow, the smoking ban in Grand Prairie does not affect them. Forum should be considered as a Texas Landmark! The professionals bowl here nearly 40 years ago (I watched it on TV) and despite ageing and time it has not lost it's character. Yes, there are some who smoke but the filtering system is very good and you can only smell it if you are near the bar area. This beats down that imitation bowling center in Arlington! If you really want to have a lot of fun with people who really care about your experience, then this is the place to go! I don't know how this place has as many stars as it does. We got there around 615, They had the entire place for league players.. on a Saturday.?! Ok whatever they were done with the one half at 630 and said the other half couldn't be used because another tournament was about to start. But we put our name on the list when we got there at 615. After the league players finished, another bowling ball didn't hit the floor till almost 7. And then finally started calling names.. it wasn't for another hour until they called our name. And we know that all those families that got called before us were not there at 615.. THEY WERE NOT.. they called our name just as we were walking out. If we hadn't been with friends that didn't wanna drive somewhere else because we just wasted two hours of our lives I would have left. They didn't deserve a dollar. But while waiting we got food served by people not wearing gloves, watched one of them behind the counter eating food of her own with their hands.. didn't wash her hands. And there is smoking so while we watched people get called to a lane that were there after us over and over again we got to smoke a couple cigarettes unwillingly. I wasn't aware smoking indoors was a thing anymore. We will never spend another dollar here. read more
