We went up yesterday for my wife's birthday, but it was packed so we figured we weren't going to be able to bowl. But, the nice lady at the desk with the radio voice let us get on the list and we were bowling within 5 minutes. I went to grab some food for my twins at at the food station and the lady was really short with us. She really didn't seem like she enjoyed her job. I do the same job she does bright and early in the morning everyday so I know it's a tough job, being in customer service. But, she seems jaded and tired of her job. She was very upset when I wrote how horrible her attitude was on the receipt and began to tell me how she was going to cook my food horrible, mind you the food was for my children, not me. Then she proceeded to tell me I could come back there and do the job for her if I wanted to. Then she yelled at me the whole time I was walking away. But, I didn't pay her any mind. The food was actually pretty good from what the children said. I even tried it. My son did mention that the fries were over salty. Then I saw her again when I went to tell the nice lady at the desk they lane 1 and 2's ball had gotten stuck. The nice lady told me she was having it fixed. But, as I turned to walk away the kitchen lady still proceeded to try and start and argument, mentioning again how I said she was horrible. It wasn't the fact that she was short with us, it was more of her rushing me through. I mean, there was nobody behind us, no line at all, but she actually acted like she hated even being there and that she thought she could say or do anything with no consequences at all. Which is pretty funny to me considering I'm sure you have had complaints on her before with that attitude and she probably feels like because she's been there awhile that nothing is going to happen to her. But, I really think she should find a job that she enjoys because she can cook well. She can obviously multitask considering how busy it was. It was just the horrible attitude for me and the fact that she didn't even realize that she had one. She was oblivious to the fact she does have a bad one and very upset that I even mentioned it. But, I usually tell someone how I feel . I tell the truth no matter what and if you can't handle the heat,PLEASE get out of the kitchen and let someone else who will enjoy it more have a chance at that job. It's a nice job from what I can see and she was making great tips. I even sent my boy back with a tip for her because he enjoyed the food and being that I'm in the service industry, I believe in karma and I know we have our days. But, I could tell from her that her behavior is a normal thing for her. Other than that we had a great time and everything was chill and clean. The lady at the bar was super sweet too. Horrible service. We purchased a summer pass which should allow us to bowl 2 games between 12pm to 10pm daily. But every time we come they never have lanes available (even though there are clearly open lanes). Then I'm told to come back around 8:30pm or 9pm when I clearly have small children. Waste of money. This place even has an axe throwing place!!!! It The lanes are smooth, new, and are maintained nicely. I go several times a week to practice and, of course, raise my average! It's fun to see so many families together playing, laughing and having a great time. It's a no smoking building (sad for me) so it's wonderful for kids. read more

We stopped by here to enjoy a few games of bowling so I hadn't looked up any reviews or anything. The pros: price was very reasonable. It was less than $10 for shoes and the game. The staff were friendly. The con's: old, outdated, not clean facility. The chairs were awfully filthy. This place was exactly what I'm looking for. Just a pure Old School bowling spot. You go in, and the decorations are dated (its part of the ambiance). Bowling is cheap, and people are just regular folks having a good time. There was a birthday party on the lane next to us, and some lady brought cupcakes in a tupperware. Staring at those bad boys threw my game off, but I still managed to break 200 :) The front desk clerk(s) are not friendly, so that will cost a star. But the beer is real cheap, cold, and the bartender was very nice. Some folks prefer all the new renovated fancy bowling with artisan cheese trays. Most of them don't seem to look up from thier phones long enough for it to matter really. It might as well be HG Supply Co with some loud thunder in the background. This place is a little bit seedy. Sadly disappointed. We're new in town so we have given this place a few tries. The Red Bird Lanes is a charming blast from the past place with lots of vintage 70's charm. Unfortunately if you are not already a loyal customer you're treated with this rude attitude as if your totally unwanted. Southern charm and hospitality they are not. My son and I go every Saturday and have a great time . I have never had any issues with customer service whatsoever. This is not a Main Event but for people who appreciate the sport of Bowling in it's true form . I can't speak for anyone else's incidents but what I know is that I'm a Black man and I have not had any issues of someone working there being rude or racist. This place would have been outdated in 2005, that said it was 20 dollars for 4 people and shoes. The air hockey game didn't work right and the music player wasn't working. I'd go back just off the price alone but don't expect anything but a cheap bowling alley. read more

We felt like bowling and checked this place out despite the poor Yelp reviews, which contrasted to the strong Google reviews. We had a great time! It was clean, cheap and friendly. It's not a hipster bowling alley, but it might be uber-hipster if you think about it. We'll definitely go back! read more

The only reason I am giving this place one star is because you can't go any lower! Absolutely the worst bowling center in the metroplex, worse than Terrell, TX and that is difficult to accomplish. If could give less stars I would...this place is beyond unprofessional and they treat the employees wrong. I have seen first hand the young man at the counter treated as trash by the owner. The young man has always been friendly and fair and more than understanding. I see him helping his fellow employees and I overheard him getting yelled at for doing so. I went here for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and had fun because of the group I was with. However, the place was not impressive at all. They only sell cheap canned beer and since people can smoke in there it smelled like a cheap bar too. There was no music and the food selection did not appeal to us. We played 2 games and left to grab a bite and drink elsewhere. The cashier guy was friendly, so I guess that was the silver lining. Not interested in returning. read more

It's a good place to play, it's clean and all lanes work well. Kitchen opens at 4:00 pm but there is snack machines and drinks are available. The lady of staff is kind and shoes are in good condition. It's good because the place is not packed, so you can come and play without waiting. read more

Uuugh so disappointed in the little bowling alley RED BIRD BOWLING here in our up and coming small town of Duncanville. We got there ordered burgers and sat to have a glass of wine and we were carded, well i didn't bring my purse because we planned on bowling and it's somewhat shady. ..this was a conscious decision i made and having been here before and not carded I thought nothing of it...so i couldn't be served, no big deal. bartender says I'm sorry but it's the law, i must see your id ... then the guy behind me orders 7 drinks, he's going to carry them all by himself SHE DOESN'T CARD HIM. .. so i simply say why didn't you card him and all the people he's buying drinks for, you didn't see all their ids? She says well i knew him and everyone he's with, oh really?!?? So is it the law you're following or facial recognition? Im so disappointed in the way we were treated when we brought it up to the owner/manager, I'm not sure we will ever go back. Duncanville is changing, the hipsters are moving in and if you don't have consistent rules and customer service your business will go under. read more
