My family and I spent 3 nights at The Forum. We have stayed at other places in the many years that we have been going to OCNJ, but this is the first time we have stayed at The Forum. Did some research and decided to give this motel a try based on the many positive reviews. Well, The Forum did not disappoint. The room was a very nice size and had two queen size beds. The room was also exceptionally clean with a powerful shower. The Forum is located minutes from the boardwalk by foot and right near coffees shops, shopping and restaurants. The pool was also large and well maintained. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use it as the weather did not cooperate. Hopefully, next time. Kumar, who greeted us at the front desk, was warm and pleasant. In fact, he provided my wife with a complimentary beach bag and my daughters with cute stuffed animals. If you are looking for an exceptionally clean, reasonably-priced motel that is minutes away from all of the attractions, this is your place. Highly recommend and we would definitely return. read more

We have been coming to Ocean City since 1974. We have always stayed at the Forum hotel. Back in the 70s 80s 90s and early 2000s this was a family owned Jersey shore business. It has since changed hands and while doing so they have made some much needed upgrades to the property and the facilities around it parking example if it gets crowded, they may park two cars. The front desk will take care of your keys and move it accordingly. The pool is located in the center of the hotel and now it has a very nice fence around it. This hotel is the quintessential Ocean City New Jersey Pl. It has charm location, location, location. It is located about a block from the beach and the music pier as well as the boardwalk, it has a third floor mezzanine level and second floor level a dining area. There is a cute store located right on the property. The swimming pool is always a central and focal point of this hotel balcony rooms first floor rooms second and third. They also have a two floor suite on the property and apartment, the staff is friendly knowledgeable and kind. The rooms are clean. It is a wonderful place to stay clean and convenient. Feel comfortable staying here. My 89-year-old mother was able to get a first floor room next to the pool where she thoroughly enjoyed the entire vacation. read more

A last minute decision to take a quick overnight for my birthday brought us here. It was appealing, since it was only 1 block from the boardwalk and one of my favorite eateries, Manco & Manco's Pizza. Check in was smooth, front desk very friendly and accommodating. Our room, with two queen beds, was as described. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. It's not the Four Seasons but perfect for what we needed. We'll be staying again. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Upon arrival, I thought the motel was wonderful. The photos of the motel looked gorgeous when booking, but when you gave it a closer look, it was not even close to what was advertised. I'm trying to figure out where all these great reviews are coming from. Probably people that know the owners etc., because this place is FAR from clean and superb. As we walked into our room, even my husband, who is not one to notice things like this, commented on how many crumbs and hairs and bits of debris were on the floors. I thought OK may be an honest mistake and they just forgot to vacuum and wipe some things down. We gave it a further look and almost everything had hair on it from the microwave to the bed. There were was food on the mini fridge. There was vomit or what looked like vomit, on the side of the bed when we turn down the covers. (This we noticed on the last night, unfortunately.) My husband went downstairs to alert the front desk of the dirty room when we first got there, and they said with that they would send someone up to clean. No one ever came. Apparently they said they sent someone up and they heard voices in the room and knocked, but didn't come in because we didn't let them in. This made no sense because we weren't even in the room during this time. We had alerted them we would be leaving and it would be OK to go inside. When we got back from the boardwalk later that day, everything was still filthy. I went down to the front desk to alert them myself, and she said they had tried to come up but we weren't there and the maintenance man had left for the day. That he would return tomorrow. Fast forward, tomorrow came and they came to "clean" and they made the beds and literally everything else was left untouched. The one woman at the front desk even walked up with me and I showed her the toenails or fingernails, hair etc. she said it would be taken care of. Long story short, it never was. We were followed up by texts from the hotel asking how we would rate the hotel. No one ever followed up with our concerns or displeasure with our stay. We didn't make a big deal about it because we saw we were getting no where. We even overheard another couple make a comment about how it looks like nothing is ever cleaned at this hotel when we were by the pool. When talking, we found out this family felt the same way. Their room was dirty. On top of that, the pool always was dirty. We all took turns skimming so much hair and such out of the pool. Listen, for the price, the cleanliness or desire to fix the over l-site should not have been and issue. Also want to note that the "maintenance/maids" didn't even have a vacuum with them while making rounds. I would not recommend this place. Ocean city is a great place but this experience put a damper on my first time here for sure! *my kids also came down with something, which is not surprising. Who knows what kind of germ they picked up at this place. read more

All-around good accommodations. The room has been renovated in the somewhat recent past. It seemed clean, which is the most important thing. The room was ready before the standard check in, and we received a text to let us now, which was a big positive. The pool was clean, and they had live music there two days in a row. The location is ideal, close to the beach/boardwalk, several restaurants and the shopping on Asbury Street. The property is non-smoking, but I could smell smoke while in my room. I notified the front desk, and the associate went directly to the offender's room and took care of it. It did not happen again. I'm sure my family will stay there, again in the future, and I would recommend it. read more

They are not renovatED; they are renovatING. Our first room had no curtains, only sheers, and was unacceptable. Our next room had an adjoining room door that was too thin and did not suppress sound at all. We heard any whine from the child in the room next door, so it was also unacceptable. The room we finally stayed in was not ready for occupancy. Our bed table was an extra mini-fridge that was sitting there. No bureau to place our stuff, and the room chairs were the metal ones that could be used outside. No coffeemaker of any kind, and absolutely no storage in the bathroom or shower. We had to place our supplies on the low step of the shower and reach down for them. There's also no safety/grab bar in the shower or bathroom. So, if you have trouble standing or bending, good luck in the bathroom. Only saving grace is that the beds were comfortable and the shower itself was roomy and the water flow was great, even while doing Pilates while reaching and stretching for our shampoo and soap. Never found an ice machine, and wasn't too disappointed since I can't imagine it being clean and sanitary. We've been here before, but it's been a few years, and they have newer owners. They should have fully renovated each room and moved onto the next, instead of piecemealing each room and putting up apology signs. Can't recommend it and don't know if we'll return. read more

We had stayed in this hotel previously. I make our reservation directly through their website. We are a family of 5. It specifically asks for our childrens ages. 8,9, & 17. So not small children. Plus my husband and I. That is 5 large people. The only reason I have ever stayed here is because the rooms fit our family size. This past time we make the 2.5 hour drive and they jam us in a small two bed single room. Their only response was "we can give you a cot". Since I'm not in college anymore I'm pretty sure sleeping on a cot wasn't what I was thinking. The website specifically asked the age of the children. Every hotel website does, then it offers you room options that fit your family. We will never spend a penny hear again. There are 5 of us jammed in a tiny room, one bathroom, and not a single closet or dresser so ontop of everything we get to live out of our luggage. I wish I had read these reviews ahead. This hotel ok as it as close to the beach about a block or 2. There is a pool but they don't give any towels. The room was clean and housekeeping was very good on time and did a good job. A true downfall is the bathroom which is quite small. The toilet is for first and second graders and so therefore is very difficult for normal adults to use that is one of the main reasons why I would not come back to this hotel. it is quite expensive for what you get. It's probably a much better idea to look around and plan ahead than to come to the this hotel and pay the money they want per night. Parking was fine although they can get pretty busy and your car will have to be blocked by another but they'll move it if you need to get in and out. There really is very limited space aside from your room and the pool area to sit and relax there is an outside deck on the first and second floor, but the chairs are all metal and they have no umbrellas there at all, just a few umbrellas out by the pool area. So the sun can get pretty intense. I decided on this hotel sort of last minute, so I guess I paid top dollar next time. We will probably choose to go to a different beach area since Ocean City beaches are small and quite crowded. read more

Extremely disappointed. On the website for The Forum it states "Book your vacation and stay in our newly renovated rooms." Then you get to your "newly renovated room" and there are 2 beds and a tv. There is not one dresser, end table, table, or mirror. We were using a chair as an end table and living out of our suitcases ON THE FLOOR for a week. That's false advertising, and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs will be notified because the NJ Consumer Fraud Act prohibits merchants, sales people, and contractors from using deceptive practices in the sales of goods or services to consumers. Also, the beds are so hard it is like sleeping on a board. read more

This hotel doesn't even deserve a single star but I can't review it if I don't add a star! PJ is a crook! This place looks NOTHINg as advertised it's a complete and total shit box! For the amount of money we paid for 2 nights you would believe the rooms would be in much better condition than they are, and the giant broken glass door you'd think would have been fixed too. There is a pandemic going on, and the room was Filthy! Mirrors weren't clean, trash under the bed, hair in the bathroom... sand and hair in the tub! Mold around the switches in the bathroom and the outlet by the bed.... oh and the dust build up in the vent in the bathroom! It was appalling, disgusting, filthy..... do yourself a favor.... don't stay..... find a different place. You'll be so thankful you went elsewhere I promiSe you that. It pains me to write this, but I'm afraid a family tradition has come to an end. Have been coming here for most of my childrens' lives. The most recent review regarding the current state of affairs at this motel (June/July 2022) is accurate--so are the pictures with a few minor differences. When we reserved this room we were asked and we made it clear that we were a family of four for 4 nights/ 5 days. We had to live out of our suitcases for the entire stay bc there was absolutely no way we could unpack. No--and I mean NO space to put bathroom toiletries other than a small microwave area across from the bathroom. Only one lonely hook to hang all wet towels. No dresser, no chairs for the table--just one awkwardly placed and small table. One night I made the mistake of asking for two chairs (oh the audacity!) and was met with a very rude and argumentative front desk guy who hung up on me. Later another man, who was very nice, arrived with one small indoor table chair (too short for the awkwardly placed table w no chairs) and two metal outdoor chairs. The entire stay had most of our belongings on the floor (again a family of four for 4 nights and 5 days) and around and on top of a very small microwave. No place to put bottles of shampoo in the shower although there was one very sad, microscopic wooden item in the shower that was so prone to tipping over, you really couldn't even use it. Very stingy w toilet paper. Still under renovation with part of the drywall around the door missing. The work that had been done was very shoddy. Bathroom door not hung properly, electrical outlets crooked, paint was slapped on the walls in a haphazard way. It was a very uncomfortable stay to say the least. I'm angry at myself for not insisting on at least a partial refund for this very pricey unpleasant room, but I was so frustrated I just wanted to get out of there. I believe it is under new management/ownership and I'm afraid gone are the days of an always friendly welcoming feel. It gets two stars bc it is in a decent location. read more

As far as motels go, this was a winner. Only stayed one night but I found the hotel to be fantastic! The staff is very accommodating, polite and professional. The price is a little steep but when you factor in the locations, the pool, the staff and the rooms, it was well worth it! . As for the room, it was large, comfortable and clean. I have stayed at other motels in the same vicinity and did not find them to be as nice as the Forum! I will stay there again read more

I saw a few really bad reviews but decided to roll the dice anyway, b/c it was a last minute trip (July 2021) and not much else available. I am SO glad i did! SUPER clean, renovated, spacious rooms (adjoining, as i requested... room 223 & 224). From making my reservation on the phone (make it direct to get free parking & beach tags), to check in, and our stay...and check out. Very smooth and very nice, helpful staff. No problems at all! Loved these rooms! Big, very clean pool. 2 blocks from boardwalk/beach. The only reason i did not give 5 stars is that the beds were extra firm. Good for my back, however, not too comfy. Pillows were a bit too firm, too. Prefer cushy ones. If beds & pillows were plush, would have given 5 stars. But I definitely recommend and plan to go back. read more

Staff is nice and good location, but for what you're paying it is nothing great. The beds are rock hard, rooms are musty, and bathrooms are half descent. The hotel rooms are clean, however, they are very dark and out dated. The fridge is so tiny you can barely fit a 12 pack of water. The fridges are worth $20-30 and have been there for years. Don't know how they expect a family to use their fridges. The hotel could use a lot of upgrading. Also, the pool is the only area hotel pool that is not heated. read more

Avoid this place! I'd give it 0 if I could. So very said that the new owners have let the Forum fall apart. We've been going to the Forum for 18 years and the Perri family took care of the Forum amazingly. I did not know they sold it last year. It's now a complete sh**thole. Room was dirty Hair in the bathroom. Pool are dirty. I don't even think the pool has chlorine in it. Trash strewn around the common areas. The outdoor shower area had 4 room trash containers right in front of shower with trash in them and one had vomit in it! Like they are cleaning out the trash containers at the outside shower area!! Then they actually outside showers were absolutely disgusting. Not sure when they've been cleaned. Oh and we arrived at 11 am and were Told our room was ready but would need to pay an extra $25 for early check in!! That's when I asked for Mr. Perri And was Told the Perri's sold the hotel. I argued with the man at the desk that it's horrible to try to get another $25 out of me. I already was spending $317 for the night. He wouldn't Budge. I didn't pay it. I wish I would have left then and found another hotel. Do not go here! read more

However, when I was getting my room I said a minor cuss word to a friend while waiting at the counter and the man refused to rent us a room and told us to "get out." Nice clean motel. Great location on the corner of 8th Street and Atlantic Ave. A block from the boardwalk and close to the shopping and restaurants. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. The beds are firm and comfortable and the rooms are clean. I will definitely be coming back. Only warning I have is to skip the new donut shop which is part of the motel lobby. Staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Perfect spot for our three day mini-vacation. Rooms are very basic, but clean and well kept with a mini refrigerator and microwave. AC worked great. Pool was perfect- just wish it were open a little later than 6:00 PM for my little guy and a few of the other guests really wanted to swim a bit longer. Stayed here for a quick overnight trip with my family. Motel was very clean, basic room with two double beds microwave, small fridge table with two chairs- good size for family of 4. Did not feel cramped at all. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool was perfect size and had a small kiddie pool. Onsite restaurant serves food to the pool. Great location - walking distance to ice cream parlors and restaurants. Two blocks from boardwalk and then 2 more to kids amusement park. Loved this place! The owners were so nice and helpful! Angie's restaurant is connected to the hotel as well. Good food for a great price! Very clean motel and super accommodating!! Beautiful amenities, everything was sparkling clean. The management of this place, however, not so much. We had an incident where a family member needed to be let into the room while we were at the beach. The person manning the front desk handed out a new key and promptly charged us $20.00. After paying the full price of the bill (1300+) in CASH we received this additional charge to our credit card on hold. Before checking out we spoke to the woman at the front desk who offered absolutely nothing but an attitude and unprofessional, uneducated "nothing I can do about it." We asked if she could make a phone call to someone who could, and she said "nope". She also offered us the lovely sentiment of "its only twenty dollars." I'm sorry, maybe it's only twenty to you but to us who WORKER FOR IT I find that comment just deplorable. We were happy to leave after a very nice stay in a clean and well kept establishment, and now we're walking out with nothing but frustration and anger. DO NOT BOOK HERE. read more

Clean! Very friendly staff! Nice pool! Ping pong room and sun decks were a hit! A classic motel style from the 50's--?--makes you feel like you're really in another era--in a good way. We had a poolside room, it was surprisingly quiet for facing 8th Street. The bathroom was a bit small, but had the luxury of a window to keep it fresh and bright. The sink was outside the bathroom, and the mini fridge, microwave and closet area was squeezed in tight. The plus was there are folding doors separating the sink/closet area from the room, so one could change in private if the bathroom was occupied. Use of pool and changing rooms after checkout was incredible. It adds an extra day to your vacation. I wish the coffee shop on site would re-open...also, possibly coffee in lobby, or maybe Keurig in lobby for a nominal price for guests. There was some peeling back of wallpaper in the sink area, but that is the only thing that needed a bit of maintenance. We were impressed to overhear the front desk actually calling other motels to find accommodations for a guest's extended family that decided to join them last minute, because The Forum was booked up. That is what old school Ocean City was like 20-30 years back, and it was great to hear that type of hospitality is still alive today! read more

For the Jersey shore this place is a jem. It's not new nor modern, again Jersey shore people. But it's clean, not sure what the others are talking about, every day there is team of young kids cleaning the hallways and what not. The rooms are great, good size, flat screen tv, safe, fresh towels, decent bathroom. My only not really complaint but comment is this, the small pool next the awesome large pool with lots of loungers is that the small kids pool and not a hot pool, its a small kids pool, just an FYI cause the pools are cold, the first day that sucked, the 2nd day after a day at the beach it was awesome. N there is plenty of room to hang out by the pool. The restaurant next to the pool is awesome n they bring the food to the pool, this is where alcohol would have been nice. But ocean city is awesome, first trip here and highly recommend with young kids. Location can't be beat, beach right there, restaurants right there, no need to drive anywhere. Even shopping is 3 blocks away. Near by there are ice cream shops, cigar shop, all sorts of food as well. The price is right, other more modern place on the area were 350$-450, we paid $175 on Expedia mid week 3 nights last minute vaca. read more

I have been staying at this hotel for my entire life and have never had a true issue until this year. For starters, we had four people in the balcony with two doubles room and with two to a bed you were basically lying on top of each other. On top of that the mattresses were as hard as rocks. Also, the bathroom is a joke. You can barely move in there and it hasn't been renovated since the 1980s. Along with that, we stayed for two nights (Friday to Sunday) and on Saturday, the "daily maid service" that was listed in the description for the room was non-existent for our room. I passed the maid in the hallway around 12:30PM and she asked how soon we'd be out of our room. We were off to the beach by 1:00 and we later return to find that our room hasn't been serviced at all and that there was only at trash bag of new towels hanging on our door handle. Finally, don't be ready for the promised covered parking either because there is none unless you are staying in the apartments which are rented Saturday to Saturday weekly throughout the summer. The room was spacious and mostly clean and the balcony was nice however I wouldn't reccomend the two doubles room for more than two adults, which would probably be more comfortable in the two queens room, which has outdoor access and views of the pool/8th street. One other thing I was upset with was the service at checkout. We are used to them letting us keep our beach tags for the day when we check out and letting us keep our car there for the day, but that was not the case. The lady that assisted us during checkout was arguing about the new management rules and wouldn't give in due to the "new management". Luckily at long last we were able to keep our beach tags for an extra 2 hours and weren't forced to move our car despite the many open spots available but I never like to have to try to argue with stubborn hotel staff. Overall, since management was switched from the family business to the corporation, service quality has decreased significantly but The Forum is still a nice place to stay for a quick Ocean City getaway, just keep in mind neither the service nor the amenities are 5 star material. read more

We love staying at the Forum Inn. We have been doing so for a few years and love coming back to what we know is quality with affordable pricing. The staff is friendly and the accommodations are clean. They do their best to accommodate room location requests. They were a recommendation from a friend and a place we recommend to others.
