My family and I recently rented an apartment here for a week and we were very happy! The apartment was very spacious and well appointed. My only complaint is that the futon in the living room as ridiculously uncomfortable. But thankfully the beds were super comfy! The pool at the hotel is really nice and there are plenty of chairs, so you don't have to get up at dawn and throw your beach towels down! It's heated too. The beach and boardwalk are in walking distance as well so there's always something to do. My family and I have been staying here for years and will continue to do so! Highly recommended. read more

Update: it's been 4 years since the Gallelli's sold it. The rooms look amazing very nice and updated. The reason I give it two stars (I'd give 2.5) is the exterior. Considering what it used to be it looks horrendous and just terrible. It used to be a landmark and a famous hotel on OC with beautiful plants, facade, a cool waterfall and looked like a nice little tropical escape. Yeah 4 years ago were the rooms looking a little worn and needing renovation but it was still cleaner than any other hotel I was ever in and noting broken. The pool was so much fun, plenty of shade a really cool waterfall, nice tropical plants. The office was warm and welcoming. Now it's just a hunk of "modernization" if that makes sense. The office looks like a dentist office. All white, no character. The famous exterior lava rock , plants, and waterfall... gone. Plain old wood panels with the "modern" white wood tile things. All the plants are gone in the front and replaced with grass. Everything is white, gray, and blue gray. For lack of better words it looks like crap. Worst thing tho is the pool looks sad and empty, no more waterfall. ITS GONE!!! It looks like how the pool used to look in the 60's and 70's. The fun welcoming atmosphere is gone. And it's sad to see it go. Ocean city lost a gem, hopefully to be one day restored to its former glory. The new owners made a promise to continue the legacy of the hotel and keep the name. LIARS!!!! It's now named "Ocean's Edge" and are quickly killing (if they haven't already) the legacy. read more

New Ownership -Worst Stay EVER in 21 years of staying! Tahiti Inn apartments (now called Ocean's Edge Luxury Apartments) are FAR from LUXURY. Still part of the Inn, but new name and false advertising. We have been coming here for 21 years - and this year we stayed in June AND July. our stay in June was the first under new management. Our "luxury" apartment, in which we have stayed in every year for two decades... was recently remodeled. We knew there had been a remodel and new management and were willing to pay the immense price hike. We were looking forward to seeing the updates, only to find: We requested and paid for a large apartment (advertised) and received a small apartment. When questioned, we were told it is the same square footage. But Apartment #11 (for anyone checking in) has a MICRO - kitchen and it is not the same. - Our apartment was unfinished. Sheetrock dust everywhere. No furniture, other than three beds and a couch, two lamps. - The windows were not covered. Curtains laying in closest on the floor. The curtain hooks were hung with weak hardware, and were falling off the wall. (pics below.) We requested they be fixed for privacy. This was never resolved. - No dresser or stand for any suitcases. - TV's did not work, and no help came to fix this when we requested assistance. - TV internet did not work. Still no assistance. - No blow drier. - We purchased groceries for our stay, to wake up the next morning to find the refrigerator was not working. They replaced this for us. - Kitchen area had no place to plug in toaster. We had to use the bedroom floor (only outlet with remodel) to make toast. - No broom, dustpan (OCEAN=SAND) - And management is only on site periodically. Staff cannot assist unless with permission of management. - Water dripping from light in bathroom. - Hot water only in one bathroom shower at a time. - One roll toilet paper per bathroom. - Four towels between two bathrooms. - No cleaning service provided unless asked, and we had to find a random broom/dustpan, garbage bags, and never received a blow drier, even after requesting twice.(Every hotel big and small, has a blow drier.) - Mold on patio walls. - Staff sat outside apartments in chairs while our family exited and entered doors, - Ladders and hoses everywhere. Little kids trying to climb and use. - No ice machine. - No sand rinse station anymore. All sand comes back to your room with you. - Pool was closed off and on for repairs. - Occupants repeatedly smoking on our patio. Reservation clearly states NO smoking premise. - Management we dealt with was rude and impersonal. - We took a few photos to show management upon check-in, with concern of being charged for damage. - The remodel is an upgrade as far as "appearance," in the apartments, but other than that - after 21 years, we won't be returning unless there is new management, acknowledgement of the issues, and major improvements and follow up sent. This was in June/July 2025. All of the provisions listed on website were false. If you choose to book at the Tahiti Inn apartments (now Ocean's Edge Luxury Apartments,) pack everything you need from home, because you will not find it here. 3 stars for a solid location close to the boardwalk and beach, but like other reviews said the property is dated and we were given some wrong info on pricing by staff. My mom and I just needed a place to sleep and shower for a weekend trip so this was fine for us. The pool area is 1960s tiki themed which was actually pretty cool to see and if they fully embraced this theme and updated a few features (bathrooms in particular) it could be a real gem. Beds were fine and there was a working TV. Basics but that's all we needed. Location wise it was perfect for us as it was just a 10 min or less walk to the boardwalk. Parking is first come first serve for the good spots. We didn't have too bad of a time but got in late Friday night thanks to Philly traffic and had to take the last spot available, by the bike racks. We had to move a few bikes to avoid hitting them. If you park by the Jilly's Arcade make sure you park on the LEFT facing the hotel. They had parking spots marked for the arcade and will tow/charge you if you accidently park there. Staff were friendly but we called ahead of time for a late check in, were told the office was open till 10pm, but then received a call at 9pm asking when we were going to arrive. Luckily we were only 10 min away but if your hours are until 10pm and we called earlier with our ETA why did we get another call asking out arrival time? Lack of communication I think. Also watch their "Specials" on the website for pricing. It doesn't include the NJ taxes. We called for the $88 a night special and after taxes ended up being $130 a night. We asked about the increase and were just told "We don't always update the website prices..." So CALL and ask for an ENTIRE price (rate + taxes) for your stay and ask if a special is still available. I believe the hotel is for sale as we saw a manager, a relator and 2 business looking people going in and out of rooms (that were hopefully unoccupied as it was a no vacancy when we were there) taking photos. I overheard the manager explaining features and mechanical/staff rooms so it's probably going to change hands soon. Overall solid place with the essentials, close to the board walk for a nice weekend trip. Just double check your bill that your rate is correct. read more

Just paid almost $1000 for two nights there, which is ridiculous for the size of the room. We could barely squeeze by each other. Bathroom was also tiny. They claim that the pool is heated, but, it was actually pretty cold. Lounge chairs by the pool were incredibly uncomfortable. I went to get a snack from their machine and it was completely empty. Doesn't look like it's been filled for years. No courtesy coffee or continental breakfast. I certainly could have gotten much more at another location. I can assure that I won't be returning here again. read more

First time here. This is a solid motel for a great price. We booked the super deluxe motel room for a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. Was enough space, had a kitchenette and 2 full beds. The bathroom in my room was pretty large for a motel bathroom. Maybe the tiny bathrooms are in the regular motel room. I'd def come here again.. they also have apts if you need more space. I really like the vintage feel.. I kind of wish they were still decorated with the original 1960s stuff that would have been super cool lol. The pool is heated and cute. I also really like the amount of windows and that they can open.. annnd that there is one in the bathroom. Overall I'd def recommended this place especially if youre on a budget. I stayed at Tahiti inn for the memorial day weekend and I have nothing but good things to say about this establishment. This was not my first time in ocean city, however it was my first time staying overnight. Im a big YELP user so I turned to YELP to help me in my quest for nice resorts/hotels to stay at in Ocean City. Tahiti Inn was not only reasonably priced, it was in a great location. Me and my children stayed in the regular room (they have apartments with full kitchens also) which was sold out -- but this room was great and had just enough space to accommodate us for two nights. The balcony was a view of the pool area but I was okay with that because it allowed me to watch over the kids while they were in the pool. The room came with a small refrigerator big enough to keep beverages and cold food like cold cuts/cheese for sandwiches, milk for cereal etc. speaking of food there is a wawa literally 5 mins away if you don't want to spend a lot of money on food throughout your stay. The only downside is that the ice is 50 cents per bucket, and you have to go to the front desk to get an iron but I wasn't mad because everything else made up for it. In a nutshell: if your looking for somewhere clean, family friendly, great customer service and staff, and close to the boardwalk (literally steps away) then Tahiti Inn is your place to be. If you want a modern hotel look elsewhere. If you want a clean room steps from the boardwalk, beach, bike rental and arcade with parking, a heated pool and helpful staff then this is a great choice. Nothing fancy. Dated rooms and faux Tahiti decor but never mind that, you can't beat it for the important stuff. At least as far as I'm concerned. 5 star value and convenience and 2 stars for the rest, overall a solid 3. read more

Great Hotel walking distance from all boardwalk attractions. Rooms are clean and spacious. Beware though bathrooms in rooms are extremely small. Room was not dated like some of the other area hotels that I have stayed at. Service was great and the pool was also great. read more

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in in ocean City NJ now I understand why they had a room at the last minute when everyone else was booked solid I feel like I traveled back in time to 1970 omg they gave me a real metal key who does that anymore and the room looks like it hasn't been updated in twenty years the bathroom is the size of a closet and even the vending machines don't work hotel from hell if you are planning to come to ocean City NJ I recommend the beach club or the impala hotel read more

The Tahiti Inn was a great place to spend the night in Ocean City. I had my daughter and some of her friends with me. I didn't have to worry about them crossing the street to get to the boardwalk. The rooms were clean, yet dated. Who really spends time in the room, though. The beds were acceptable and the staff was very friendly. read more

The beds are very uncomfortable. The sheets feel like sandpaper and the rooms are pretty dated.

Do not expect friendly front desk staff! Hey are extremely rude and change their story whenever it meets their needs. We found them to be disgracefully rude on two separate occasions this summer and will never stay here again. This is all aside from the ants we found in our room just before checkout. The only reason they deserve a star is their close proximity to the beach which says nothing to their intimidating, cold family of "greeters" in their front office. We could go on with the laundry list of complaints, but would rather suggest you stay at any of the neighboring hotels/motels for a cleaner, more enjoyable stay. Will never get anywhere near this place again. read more

The experience in the hotel was alright. It just was close to the back and affordable but the staff gave me and my party horrible service and the cleaning service did not come for a whole day. There was no safe so all of my valuables were kept in the open and I did not like that at all. When we were checking out they made us clean up three tissues and two qtips. My husband and I have been coming down to this hotel for years, and honestly would go nowhere else. Everything is close, boardwalk, and beach right out your back door. Everything very clean and the staff very nice. We've stayed at Pavillian. No Good!!! Beach Front would not refund our money when we had to cancel due to an emergency. The staff at Tahiti Inn was very patient with my numerous requests. The rooms are fairly quiet and comfortable, but the family that owns the place really makes the Tahiti Inn a classy establishment. Perfect for families and couples, the Tahiti Inn is close to the boardwalk and the beach, reasonably-priced and encapsulates the wholesome atmosphere for which Ocean City has become known.
