Horrible customer service first thing is I got my install done was offered a bass knob for extra which I agreed to which is fine , went back the next day cause their was a crazy sound coming from my speakers when I use my auto start , they wanted more money to fix the problem which I feel that's unfair we pay for the whole install not half which I feel at that point they should fix considering I payed for my equipment to work right . Then I go there not even a month later cause my system all of a sudden stopped working and they tell me they can't get to it for almost 3 .days and I need to schedule an appointment . So I took it to another shop and low and behold it was a loose wire from their install .The taller white scruffy looking guy at the counter is a complete douche bag and not customer friendly at all . A few years ago, I purchased an alarm system from Foss Audio in Kent and had them install it in my Mazda Miata. At the time I thought the technician did a decent job, though after they hid the alarm unit behind the plastic underneath the steering wheel column, I noticed it left a bulge behind the car's plastic which he claimed he couldn't prevent. The led light was installed a bit off centered and the alarm's antenna was left dangling loosely nearby the alarm unit which I thought both were quite sloppy and lazy of the technician to do. It was a bit of an eyesore to see the the defects every time I got into my car. Fast forward 5 years later, I purchased a another Miata (same generation) because my first Miata mentioned above got totaled. I thought I would Foss another chance so I called them to get a quote for an alarm reinstall of the same alarm I had pulled from my previous Miata after the accident. They quoted me $150, so I made an appointment to have the reinstall done the following week. When I show up for my appointment, they told me they can't install a used alarm system. Then quoted me $500 for an install of a brand new identical unit if I brought one in (BATE AND SWITCH!). On top of that, after the technician/salesman disappears for about 5 minutes in the back room, he returns and tells me I will also need a $100 chip for my alarm because my 2nd miata is a slightly newer model (but same generation). I believed him. So to save a few bucks, I went online and purchased the exact same chip he said I needed for half the price. I few weeks later, now having trust issues with Foss, I decided to take my Miata to a shop in Renton (btw, a great audio shop). The owner tells me the chip isn't necessary because I don't have auto start. So it turns out I wasted $50. This new shop only charged me $150 for the total install and he did an awesome job installing the alarm's main unit under my steering wheel column without leave a budge on the plastic cover, the antenna was installed securely and cleanly in a nice location, and the LED was installed perfectly centered. I love them! I'm glad I didn't waste $500+ at Foss Audio. I only wasted $50 on the chip I didn't need, which is not a big deal. If Foss thinks they can get away with it, they will try to take advantage of you with unnecessary parts and shoddy workmanship. I will never go back there again! I DON'T trust them and I DON'T recommend them. Stay away! They have given me the worse experienced ever. read more

Came in right when they opened. Jr helped me right away saw what I needed to be done and was able to do it right there on the spot. Most places would give you a little shade for coming in with equipment already that just needs to be installed. But these guys didn't, very professional and he guided me through all the features of my new system. Didn't charge me a arm and a leg either. Fast installation and no "surprise" charges added. I spoke to JR and he sure is helpful just like previous reviews. He explained exactly what you would paid for depending on the darkness of the tint...so there's no surprise when it is time to pay. I started using Foss Auto about two years ago now. Back then they were known as Hi-Tec. From the very beginning I was greeted with warm service and I could easily recognized the knowledge that the entire staff had and the passion for what they do. They installed an alarm system on my car just shortly after I caught a few guys scoping it out in a very suspicious manner. It was my first car (still is my first car) and I bought her brand new so I am very partial to maintaining a clean, well running car. I have been a repeat customer over the last two years to the point that everyone there knows who I am. From the alarm system install I then had the remote start hooked up. After that I purchased a 12" sub and amp kit and had the installation done. They also installed some interior lighting for me. Since my relationship with them has grown at the same time as my love for modifying cars so they have recently become a supplier for me in many ways for many projects that I have completed now for friends and family. My latest job with Foss was after my factory stereo crapped out on me and I needed a new one. Joe and Jess worked with me on the pricing and helping me to decide on which stereo I wanted. I went ahead and had Foss install it and they did a fantastic job in early March 2014. I would recommend Foss to anyone and everyone who wants to customize their car to their own personality for not only parts and labor but even just for the material for DIY projects at home. i asked if i can cancel my appointment 3 days before my car tinting because i had an emergency i need to do that day and if can i refund my $50 downpayment. At first they said its non-refundable but it wasnt indicated on my receipt or the paper they gave me, i said okay and i put a one star rating here on yelp because it was so disappointed i wasted $50. They called me back and say i can refund it but I NEED TO MAKE SURE I WILL REMOVE MY ONE STAR REVIEW, and so i did! I waited weeks and weeks and weeks after for my money but UNTIL NOW THEY HAVEN'T BRING BACK MY MONEY AS THEY PROMISED. So i will just put back my one star rate to them now. Fair enough. I only put one star because this is the only way I can leave a comment on this shop!!! I walked in today trying to ask the tall guy regarding a fuse in my car....I wasn't sure if it was burnt out or not. Before I can finish asking my question he cuts me off and tells me in front of somebody else that he does not work for free and that will be $55! He pissed me off so bad I immediately turned around and walked out the shop. In the course of the last five years I've been to the shop at least four times. And every single time that I've come to the shop I've had a bad experience with rude employees that act like they don't want to help you! There was another guy there and I pulled him to the side and told him what happened and he apologized for The Other guy Behavior. I told him this was my last attempt to try to do business in my local area and this was the fourth time I've been here and it wasn't a good experience. I also was ready to buy another double DIN stereo and explain to the guy that I will no longer try to do business with this place!!! I used to sell car stereos and equipment and based on his actions he was extremely rude and unprofessional! I truly felt if I would have continued the conversation and let him charge me the $55........ he would have seriously overcharged me like I'm stupid! I would not recommend this place to anyone! I immediately went to another shop got treated with respect and concern and he didn't even charge me just to look! But because he gave me such a good experience I gave him money anyway!!!! read more

I bought the Groupon deal for the remote starter and the keyless entry. I was not sure how it was going to go but when I got there Joe and company took care of me. Dave was the installer that put in the product and he was professional the whole way! Very helpful and knowledgeable of his craft and seems to love what he does. I got a great price on my install because since my car is a stick shift they had to put in more hours of work. Regardless, if you are looking to get any stereo install done I definitely recommend this location. The staff is very knowledgeable and very kind. This shop is a true diamond in the rough. The outside of the building is a little boring but inside reveals the true quality of the shop. It's been remodeled since I started coming here and the new displays look amazing. The guys inside have been there a long time and it's nice to continue to work with the same people every time. It's obvious they love what they do because they light up when they talk about all the new technology. Joe found me a new head unit that had iPod and Bluetooth and a 3 year warranty installed for less than $250 installed and Kasey's install was fast and clean. Once again, a great experience. We are very happy with Foss Audio in Kent. We arranged to have a new media player installed in our trailer because the "almost new" player already installed wasn't working. The trailer is still under warranty, but after several trips back to the dealer, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with the stereo. We decided to try Foss and we picked out a new media player and made an appointment. These guys actually saved us money! Instead of installing the new unit, they figured out what was wrong with the unit we already had - and they fixed it! They saved us over $200. They did an excellent job fixing our media player. They were friendly and professional and they did quality work. We will definitely come back to Foss Audio again if we need this kind of work done in our vehicles or our trailer. I had a Kenwood dash cam that I wanted hard wired into my vehicle. My first thought was to do it myself since I had some experience with electronics. I first used Foss-Kent a couple years ago for a challenging touch screen install in my custom VW Beetle & they did an excellent job with no problems; so upon purchasing a brand new vehicle a few weeks ago, I went right back to Foss-Kent having had such a good experience the last time. To stay of with they act nice to you and pleasant to deal with at first. We were referred to them. So my fiancee decided what he wanted and how he wanted it done. It ended up being a little higher then expected so we had to finance. That was great to be able to do that. We went up the night before due to we had to drop off before they opened and puck up after they closed. They told us that we would be able to get the receipt after everything was completed. Picked up the truck. No receipt. Everything was installed wrong. Called them the next day and they basically put it all on me. I asked for my receipt and they dais they didn't have it. When on line to the financing agreement and they deleted the pdf file that states what was done and for how much. I am going to try to be nice and get this all corrected but if not. I will have to go find out what options I have to take this to the next level. I wish I could give them a -star. read more

They do a good job here, and beat Cartoys and Bestbuy on installation rates. I bought 4 speakers and a little Alpine amp for my new Nissan there. I wasn't happy with the speakers, so they gave me full credit for the speakers and installation, and exchanged them for better speakers only charging me the difference. After a couple visits there, I am happy that they listened to me, didn't get annoyed, and did what they had to do to make me happy. The new speakers were a better match with the amp, they tuned it just right, and now it sounds excellent for only 4 6.5" door speakers. They do stand by their installations, and I appreciate that! read more

I wanted to purchase the groupon (automatic starter) I called ahead after reading reviews saying there had been extra charges. When I spoke to an employee they stated that if I sent a picture of the keys they would be able to tell if there would be extra charges. They also told me to buy the starter from them instead of going through groupon. They finished it within the day. They did a great job! They even were good on their word when there were complications with the anti-lock system. Thank you Foss for installing the automatic starter in my boyfriend's car. read more
