Last week I came here to have my tire patched after a piece of debris became lodged in it. I brought my car in, they jacked it up, and then informed me they weren't comfortable patching my tire since all my treads were ball (How does that happen? Read my Southbay BMW review). So the worker there, Julio, told me I would need to get a new set of tires, and offered suggestions as we looked through tirerack.com. He showed me the size and speed ratings I would want, and also the run flat and regular options. He even went as far as to calculating out how much it would cost going through tire rack verses buying the tires through them. No pressure involved. That night I went back on tire rack and ordered the tires I wanted and had them shipped to Foster. Foster called me two days later to let me know my set of tires had arrived. The following day I came in. No appointment was necessary - just a call ahead to see if they were busy. I came in on my lunch, and they replaced my tires in about 40 minutes. Not bad. I tend to have bad luck with cars. I have a BMW M3, and I swear that the M stands for "money." Everything that needs fixing on the car is super expensive... especially the tires. Stupid me. I value aesthetic appeal, and when I was shopping for my car I opted for the 19 inch instead of the 18 inch wheels. I had no idea that 19 inch tires are so much more expensive to replace than the 18s :( But hey, at least they look really cool... So I had an issue last year where I was driving and a nail went up into one of my rear tires. I went over to Foster Tire Co. because it is close to my office, and because I had heard good things about them. Julio and the gang took care of me, and while I stupidly went for the (more expensive) Continental ContiSports that came stock on the M3, they managed to get me a price that was approximately $180 less than MSRP. 10 1/2 months later? I was driving to work this morning, and what happened? Well, the construction guys who are doing work on the 405 must have tossed a nail over into the traffic lanes, because once again I had a nail in one of my tires. So off to Foster I went. When they were examining the tire, they noticed that the tread was low on both of my rear tires. Time to replace them again? Jeez, this is getting REALLY expensive. We discussed, and I asked if they knew of another high performance tire that would have better longevity than the Contis. Julio called around, and found out some information about the new Hankook V12 Evo K110. We checked out some of the online reviews and blogs, and I opted to go for them. Not only is the longevity better, but the Hankook has as good ratings as the Contis, can handle speeds up to 186 miles per hour, and actually have quieter road noise ratings, better braking distance ratings, and better all-weather traction. Oh, and they're about $200 cheaper than the Contis. So 5 stars. The guys are helpful, efficient, and friendly. Their prices are good, and if they don't have the tire in question they won't try to sell you on what they DO have in stock... important when shopping for exactly the right tire. read more

I first heard of Foster Tire Co a few months ago when I bought a Groupon for a $14 oil change. They did a great job - no complaints here! During that trip, they also told me that my front passenger tire had 4 nails in it. I was having to put air in it pretty frequently, so I definitely believed them about the nails. I went back to get a tire replacement and they were great. I told Julio that I was looking for something VERY reasonably priced and he found me a used (like-new) tire that matched the other 3. He charged me $35 for the tire, and it honestly does look like it's practically new. Another positive is that they are located across the street from a strip mall. So if you need to wait around, there's plenty to occupy yourself with including a Subway and Pollo Loco. read more

This place was recommended by my father and grandpa. I went in for a quote and was quoted $471 for the total price of 4 falken tires. The price of each tire was $88 before tax on the quote. I assumed this was what I was going to be paying out the door. When they finished the job, they told me there was an extra charge for the alignment. I told them no one ever told me about this charge and I thought the price on the quote was the total price and assumed alignment is included. The manager then proceeded to tell me that his workers were supposed to ask me if I wanted alignment done before doing it. They never did. He knocked the price down to $500 because of this. He was trying to add $50 on top of the original quote. I was really disappointed by this treatment as this place was highly recommended and the staff seemed so friendly and accommodating. The manager also took the quote from me and threw it away. When they gave me the completed paperwork for the job, They listed the tire price as $92.50 each. Why are they changing prices? I don't think I'll be returning. Beware of this especially if you're a female. read more

Thank you for killing my paranoia. I came here thinking I needed an alignment, i doubted Sam's alignment down the street ( i apologize) after he test drove my car again and said there was no issues. Then I came here to Foster's asking about my paranoia. They immediately jumped into action and knew a solution (switch the front left wheel to the front right and vice versa), that fixed my paranoia. I drove back to Foster and they basically said "see, i told you so!" Thank you Foster Tire! Excellent staff, very friendly. I would come here in the future. read more

Foster's has a honest man in Julio. Came in with a nail in my tire and he told me honestly that since the nail was on the edge - it maybe difficult to repair. Since he did not have my tire in stock, he told me to go back to the dealer and even looked up the cost value of the tire. Definitely would come back. read more

I came here to get 4 tires and an alignment on my 2002 civic. I went early morning and it took about 20 minutes for them to start working on my car. Once they started, it was really fast. With the waiting, I would say it took them an hour to get it all done. Their prices are really good and the attention is excellent. I ended up getting 4 of the cheapest tires for 270 dollars (Doral, seem really good so far) and the alignment for 50 (with a coupon). Will come back soon to replace an old tire of another car. read more

The staff at the shop was really friendly. They told me I need new tires, but that purchase is going to have to wait. I needed to visit Foster's because I've been filling my tire with air more often than I should be. I called beforehand to see how much a patch/plug job is and the gentleman quoted me between $12 & $17. I thought that was fair and it was rightly the 405, so I went for it. I waited about 30 minutes from the time I first walked in. That seating area in the garage was a little cold, but they had a TV with a few channels to surf. In the end, my total was $15.50. All was well, and I was out of there to sit in wonderful LA traffic all the way home. I probably should have timed my visit better. read more

I've taken my car there for two or three oil changes over the past year and the service guys in the back are great, but my last experience with a young front desk guy made me swear off this place. At first I was going to dismiss his hostility as someone simply having a bad day and I continued to be nice, but then it became clear he wanted to argue - and all over an additional fee I asked him to explain to me so I could understand what it was for. I've read a few more reviews on here about this same kind of experience - a silly and stupid thing to lose a customer over but, there are many other options out there and I'm taking my business to one of them instead. read more

Had a screw in my tire that was just a little bit in the tread. I run all terrain tires, and the worker told me that's was able to simple remove it and no charge. Had no money to tip the guy for just checking but figure this review will suffice. I respect the integrity of this place because they could have made an easy $20. The shop it's self is fully staffed, lots of work space so you can get in and out fast. Plus it looked like they had a good selection of wheels and tires n hand. read more

I explained my situation to him and he was able to get me reasonably priced new tires and a very decent used tire for my spare. While driving on a freeway one of my tires got completely stripped and partially fell off. These guys were the closest to my location and somehow I managed to roll my vehicle to the shop.. I really couldn't hope to find a more prompt and affordable tire shop! The guy in charge gave me a quote for two new tires which was surprisingly low, considering the fact I have a heavy duty truck. If every business in America conducted themselves like the good folks at Foster than buying local would be second nature. These guys are honest, professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, and they couldn't be greedy if they tried. We had managed in quick succession to put a rather humongous nail in our rear passenger tire as well as a large chunk out of the front passenger tire. After reading the stellar reviews about Foster we limped on down and were taken care of by an amazingly friendly and assured man named Larry, who is first class all the way. Larry ordered our first tire, the one with the missing chunk, and promised to look at the second tire with the nail to see if he could patch it up, which would've cost far less than a replacement. Larry was very prompt and communicative and our first tire was installed without a hitch. Here's the kicker: After showing us that the second tire had been impaled by a miniature Space Needle and couldn't be patched, Larry let us drive off not only with the first tire but also a full sized replacement tire. Not our spare tire (which he put back underneath the car) but a new tire the exact size as the other three, and he didn't charge us for anything. Just let us drive off with two new tires while we decided what to do about a permanent replacement. Think about that: with nothing but a verbal commitment that we would check our warranty and think about replacing two tires before we got back to him, Larry let us drive off the lot with two tires without charging us. Of course being the upstanding folk we are we called Larry immediately after verifying that the warranty wouldn't cover the second tire and went ahead the second tire. We went back, got the second permanent tire and we couldn't be happier. Simply put, as long as this place is around they have our business, and Larry is a gentleman among men. read more

Beyond annoyed with my very 1st visit. I drive a 2015 Nissan Versa. I was told price for 2 tires was $129.95 total plus $50 for alignment. I agreed since it was only a $6 difference from Firestone,,and I'd have less of a wait. I come to pick up car and they put 4 tires on my car for one. Then asks me how much did they tell me for the price. "That guy told me $129.95 total for the two tires, and if I need alignment an extra $50". Reply was I'm sorry, he told you wrong, it's $129.95 per tire, let me break down printout for you( which has no wording next to it just numbers). Ok, well I'm sorry but I know for a fact I can get those exact tires elsewhere for cheaper. I NEED the tires like asap, so agreement was take off price of alignment and I'll pay the overpriced amount. I'm like so basically I'm paying for the delivery charges of the tires since they were out of stock. Enh, I won't be back, but thanks for the "discount " read more

Julio is always so helpful and not only helps with whatever is needed but gives me good advice as to what to do to prevent problems in the future. To my dismay, I found a ginormous screw in my tire, first thing in the morning. I brought my car in on a recommendation from a coworker. I was able to bring it in right after work. They started working on it right away. My tire was patched in a relatively short amount of time and it only cost me $15. read more

Came in for an oil change from a Groupon purchase last week and it was done in a 20 minutes. They also brought my attention to an oil leak from a cracked engine gasket. I scheduled an appointment and brought the car in today to have it replaced and they finished the work in the time they said and for $130, which is a great deal! I don't know if i am getting played by Foster Tire....let me explain. I was one of two people who came by to get a flat tire fixed. This other person was told exactly the same thing I was by the sales clerk (I confirmed with her while we were waiting) They offered us both "loaner" tires so we wouldn't have to wait for our tires to be patched. But since my car is an odd ball size wheel (they wouldn't likely have in stock), I was surprised they just didn't go fix the flat. After 15 minutes, the came back and said, we can't find a loaner but we can patch the tire....by the way, you need to replace your other three. Patching a tire takes 5 minutes This was said in a respectful way, no high pressure but I wonder if they keep you hanging on to get you to pull the trigger and buy more... They do offer competitive prices for tires as I price checked with my regular dealer but he then switched to a different brand. Bottom line, go in an get what you want and don't get "sold". read more

I've used Foster Tire Company several times in the past couple months. When i had a flat, and the normal place i goto was closed, I went to Foster and I'm glad I did. The technicans were super friendly and very attentive to my some-what OCD requests.. I had to repair a nail puncture on a 265/35ZR18 attached to my Volk Racing 18x9.5" forged racing wheel. The technicans were super careful not to scratch the finish (SEE EDIT BELOW), and their repair price was very reasonable. I felt sort of bad hovering over them as they did the repair, but i can now rest assured knowing that they know exactly what they're doing... So far i've gone back a again to get some tires removed off a set of 20" rims, and they were excellent in their service and taking care of the plus sized wheel. Tires came off easily and they helped me pack them into garbage bags and load them into my car. The shop itself has plenty of parking in front, and they attended to my service needs in a timely manner. This is truly one of the great tire places in the South Bay. EDIT: June 2013 I took the same Volk Racing CE28N wheels back to Foster's to have them rebalanced after noticing some highway vibration. Something must have changed with their training, or it was a new guy or something but i was very disappointed in their handling of the wheels. They removed the old wheel weights by peeling them off, but instead of using alcohol or even just washing the inside of the barrel, they ended up using an abrasive scotch-brite-like pad and REMOVED PAINT from the inside of the barrel of 3 of the 4 wheels. There was around ~5" long x 2" wide paint removed on those wheels damanged. So I have to take back at least two stars on my initial rating. Clearly this is unacceptable. Who uses a high-abrasive scratch pad on custom wheels? NO ONE. At least after I addressed the problem with their management, they gave me money to have them repaired, which is a stand up thing to do, but clearly this issue should not have happened in the first place. I think if you have OEM wheels that need tire care, Fosters is still the place to go, however for Custom wheels, i guess i will have to look else where. read more
