Very disappointing experience, especially as a local La Crescenta resident. I walked in with my kids and ordered several donuts and Thai teas. The young lady who initially helped us was very kind, and we ended up spending about $25. My kids decided they wanted to sit and eat inside, so I grabbed two small sheets of wax paper to use as makeshift plates so they wouldn't make crumbs or leave a mess on the tables. As I was taking the two sheets, an older woman working there aggressively confronted me and nearly smacked my hand away. Her reaction made it seem like I was reaching over the register and stealing money rather than taking two pieces of inexpensive wax paper for food we had just purchased. There were other customers inside, which made the whole interaction even more embarrassing and unnecessary. I had just spent $25 at the shop and was simply trying to keep the table clean while my kids ate. If taking the wax paper was an issue, she could have politely said something instead of reacting so aggressively. I'm local to La Crescenta and would have happily returned, but treating a paying customer this way over two pieces of wax paper left a terrible impression. The regular round glazed is the best by far in all surrounding areas and maybe even all of LA. It basically eats and tastes like a krispy kreme glazed but bigger with better texture, fluffier and not as overly sweet. Their apple fritter has good texture but very skimpy on apples inside the actual fritter and too dense (tried it at least a few times). Their old fashions and cakey donuts are also very very good and consistent. But I'm telling yall, THE ORIGINAL GLAZED is where it's at if you want a "one donut will tell you everything you need to know" kind of donut. read more

We stopped by Foster's Family Donut recently and picked up a small variety to try. We ordered the lemon-filled and strawberry-filled jelly donuts, along with a chocolate ice bar and a maple ice bar. Everything tasted good and the fillings were nicely portioned. The ice bars had a classic, satisfying sweetness. While nothing completely blew us away, they definitely hit the spot when you're craving a solid, traditional donut. Overall, a dependable neighborhood donut shop. The nostalgia of the 90s! Stepping into Foster's is like a blast to the past in the best possible way. I love donuts that are like a cake. The ones with the sprinkles are my favorite... simply for the nostalgia of my childhood. I've heard rave reviews about Foster's and wanted to give them a shot. The donuts were delicious and fresh. The customer service was wonderful too. All the boxes were getting checked off. Except it's mostly a cash only business. To use a card you have to spend at least ten dollars. Finally went back to Fosters a few days ago after 15 years: Been coming here since I was a little kid and coming back again for the first time in many years as now a grown adult really hits you with nostalgia. The donuts have always remained consistent in taste and so has the price. The service is always top notch, they're always kind and helpful when taking orders. It's a pretty small shop with limited seating, so when it gets busy it can get loud sometimes(depends on how many people are eating at the place, usually many people take their orders to go). This has and will always be my location to go to whenever I'm craving donuts! It's super rare to see a store remain since childhood growing up as majority of the nostalgic stores in town have closed down completely and dissapeared. Bottom line...Foster's Donuts makes the best donuts in the Santa Clarita Valley and it's not even close. Their filled donuts...jelly, Bavarian cream, etc. are works of art, so tasty. Their service is very good and unlike others, their prices are not out of line. No frills, just good, solid donuts, muffins, fritters and the like. Open 24 hours, the coffee is always fresh and they are in constant production of donuts, which explains why their display case is usually full. Happy National Donut Day to Foster's Family Donuts and all Yelpers! I stopped by to celebrate this important holiday with a gigantic raspberry jelly donut and a coffee. The donut was everything you want from a jelly donut: lots of jelly, extremely fresh, with nice chewy dough and a perfect sugar glaze. The coffee was great too, also fresh and very hot. (Only issue was the extremely thin styrofoam cup that gave way when I put the lid on it.) Foster's is the classic local donut shop you'd want to have in your neighborhood. I've been coming here since the kids were little and it's consistently provided great versions of the donut staples: jelly, sprinkles, plain, etc. I've had it with IG-friendly fake donuts; this is the real deal. Ordered 3 dozen donut holes last week the day before a party and they were still very fresh tasting the next day. The cashier suggested I come in the day of the party but I didn't have the time so I just had to try my chances picking them up a day early. A long time staple of the La Crescenta / La Canada neighborhood. It's open 24 hours, the donuts are good, and the employees are nice. Their ham and cheese croissant is my favorite, but they're usually sold out of these by the early afternoon - so go in the mornings if that's what you want. Except for being a cash only establishment, this place has been added to my list of Top Donut Shops in Los Angeles... There are plenty of items to choose from, but my favorite is the chocolate chip stuffed chocolate bar and the cream cake. Both are very sweet and delicious... You will know what I'm talking about when I say fresh... When you take your first bite to the last, there will be no after tastes when consuming l their donuts and pastries... Establishment has plenty of parking and plenty of seating for this that would like to dine in... I just went to fosters donuts. They're open 24 hours. I wanted to get a couple donuts, maybe some coffee. It was about 11:45pm, place was empty. I approached the counter. The lady I approached called to a guy in the back and said he had a customer. I said ok. I waited while the guy came forward. One minute, two minutes, three minutes. The lady said he would help me shortly. The guy looked at me, then proceeded to start placing pans in an upright food storage tower, he started taking other pans out of a donut fryer. It went on for like 5 minutes- the woman ignored me and was counting out money. I'm not normally a complainer, and I've had good donuts in the past from this place, but after like 5 to 6 minutes? I'm not a homeless person or a thug- I'm not sure what their business model is that they would treat a paying customer like this? I walked out finally. I don't get it. I like that Foster's donuts is 24hrs and sells lotto tickets. Staff is friendly. A dozen donuts will set you back close to $20. When I am in a donut mood my go to is the glazed twist. The apple fritter people in my family love their apple fritter. Usually at night the choices are slim, but at least it's fresh tasting. It is impeccably delicious. 5 star rating and needs to be interviewed by magazines, business insider and needs more promotion to get the word out about this incredible company. Great idea writing lines on the sidewalk to identify lines for long waits and directs those on where to go go. A bit shaky, but overall the greatest experience I've had. A bit pricey. Super disappointed on so many levels. The employees working this morning were all so good rude I actually can't believe my experience. The guy behind the counter was super pushy and kept pestering us to order. The woman sweeping the lobby was so oblivious. My kids and I were trying to look at the doughnuts in the case and she was just sweeping (veeeery slowly) blocking the case so we couldn't see inside. Like, really? Do you want us to buy doughnuts or....? So we finally pick our doughnuts and apparently they only take cash so we had to use their atm and pay a fee on top of buying our doughnuts. As we are paying the guy and another woman are having some discussion about cigarettes they sell (odd?). Like, we're giving you our business, can we just get through our transaction before you start chatting? Then I get home and my Parisian Creme doughnut that I ordered is not in the box AND my apple fritter is freaking burnt. I will NEVER come back. Work on your customer service. Be grateful for our business. Get out of the way when someone is trying to view your products, your sweeping can wait. Stop being so greedy that you only accept cash.
