They are AWESOME. If you haven't watched Donut King, the documentary about how Cambodians came to rule the CA donut market -- I recommend you do. Then, go to Sam's and support this Cambodian-owned family shop. They're not about the Instagram gimmicks, just deliciously spongy fresh donuts, and super service. I love their strawberry with sprinkles, and chocolate glazed. Their coffee is excellent too (not that sour hipster sh#t). Walked into Sam's after a night of libations at the nearby Blue Room bar in Burbank at the insistence of friend who raved about this place. Tried to pick up my pre-order here from the TooGoodToGo app and they told me they gave my order to someone else, didn't offer a refund and harassed the shit out of me. Then a mob of customers blocked my exit and threatened me while I was trying to film a review of the location as I rank donut shops. Basically had to fight my way out of there because the douchebags wouldn't move out of the way and we're trying to start an altercation. Worker behind the counter was completely incompetent and non-cooperative. I filmed the incident in case one of them tried to strike me which was pretty close to happening as one man actually blocked the doorway and didn't move an inch even after they told me to leave and I cooperated to get out of a wasted opportunity of a food review.
