Great place for a vanilla malt. I just want to note that hand sanitizer was available on the counter, social distancing was not observed because SOME HOW I was the only one there. If this place served a decent turkey burger... even the seasoned Butterball ones... This would be my go to burger and a malt, 1950s feel, spot. I got a chili cheese fries, plain chili burger and her the chocolate dipped ice cream. Total satisfaction. I gave five stars here because my order was . I'm sorry I can't give a name but the service was just good. They listened and had manners. Put the tip jar by the ty terminal so I can actually tip. Today, we went back cuz my girl was hungry for food. I got the chili cheese fries and she got a chili fries and plain chili burger. Again service on point and . My girl was totally satisfied with the food but we made a second walk for dessert. These big chains I'm gonna stay away from. Olive Garden, Taco Bell, In & Out. Just trash now. Support the local businesses. So now my girl and I can walk to El Patron for bomb asada tacos or Fosters Freeze for good burgers, fries and desserts. We will be dining locally from now on. Instantaneously lifts my mood and reminds me of better days. Prices still cheap as all hell. Place is in a super homie spot and I'm sad the Foster's I grew up with in Pico ain't around anymore but I'm glad this ones still kicking. Please never close. Tell your friends. Keep this place open. Fosters Freeze is old-fashioned in a good way. This location is located next to a self car wash on Eastern Ave in Bell Gardens. It's not pretty, but they sure do have some good crispy fries (small = $2.09). Then there's the ice cream! It's refreshing on a warm day. Banana splits ($5.49) come with one whopping cherry. We order extra and they charge $.10. The mocha shake (medium = $4.19) is charged as a "mud shake." It was okay. But my all-time favorite has to be "Worms & Dirt" (small = $4.69). It's their ice cream "Twister" of Oreos mixed in with gummy worms on top. Three stars because the last time we visited a female employee couldn't efficiently handle working both the walk-up window register and the customers in line inside. Recommend the spicy chicken sandwich. It comes with fries and a drink. Dessert is purchased separate. It's empty but it's a nice and warm atmosphere where you can relax and take your time to eat. Grew up going to the Carson location but I live closer to this location so I decided to give it a shot. We arrived at 8pm, the ladies working were nice, the food was cooked fresh but everything just tasted bad and it was pretty pricey. & It's with great regret to say that because I was so hype for some Foster's Freeze. It took a lot of time to get here and it was such a bad experience here in Bell Gardens. Since it was my first time at this location I decided to play it safe and order my go to- a ham grilled cheese combo with a chocolate, banana malt and the total was over $14! o_o Everything was cooked fresh right then and there so I wasn't expecting the sour taste the food and shake left in my mouth that followed. The fries tasted like old, fishy smelly oil.. the grilled cheese tasted extremely salty and the malt tasted like chemicals and dish soap. We did arrive at 8pm and I know they close at 9:30pm, so I am wondering if they used items they just washed to make my shake. Not only that but my malt was overspun, it was really watery and I hate malts that are watery. I didn't finish any of my food or the shake, I threw it out because I didn't want anyone getting sick. Besides the terrible food and shake, the inside of the location is extremely dingy and in a sketchy neighborhood..but the reviews already say that below. I didn't feel safe there at night so we just took the food to go. I know they are trying to keep Foster Freeze locations Nostalgic and classic, but there are ways to remodel & freshen up without losing that nostalgic feel. The Carson location is old but it's not as ugly as this location. Although I live 20 miles closer to this location than I do the Carson location, I will never come back. I will definitely spend more mileage traveling to the Carson location if that means great tasting food and ice cream. read more

I've had the Reese's cup twister, vanilla milkshake, various sundaes, and parfaits. I recommend the Reese's twister and the caramel sundae. The root beer floats are also good. Today I got the vanilla cone after my meal. For hot food, they have Nathan's hot dogs, and they are good. Today I got the #1 combo, The Big Boss. It's a cheeseburger with pickles, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, and house sauce. It was moist and juicy. The onion rings inside the burger provide a nice crunchy element. I like their house sauce, which I'm guessing is simply thousand island of one kind or another. All in all a decent burger. The side of onion rings was good as well. They also have grilled cheese, chili fries, pastrami, fish filet, burritos, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, corn dogs, waffle fries, and more. I will continually return because of its convenient location and friendly service. The workers are always nice to me, and the food is good.
