We stopped here on our way over to Yosemite. It had been years, like over 15 years for me that I've been to a Foster's. The place looked like it had never been updated since it was built. They have an outdoor ordering window or you can go and dine inside. We ordered the Krispy chicken sandwich and an order of curly fries and regular french fries. The chicken was triangle shaped and they put it into a regular round bun....odd. We picked off pieces that didn't have chicken and only mounds of mayonnaise. The curly fries are NOT curly, they're actually waffle fries. The food was mediocre at best but I didn't have high expectations. read more

Food taste great! The outside and inside are very clean. It's generally really busy especially during the middle of the day so the line gets pretty long. In comparison to other foster freezes you get out of there pretty quick. Just make sure you ask for extra napkins. read more

This place has been in Tracy forever. Blast from the past still looks the same. We used to cruise the drag at night and grab a burger or whatever. It was Fosters Freeze ran by The Henderson family or you could go to Walt's Drive Inn on Eleventh avenue. Best fries ever. Or if you wanna go way back Alta's on the corner by Tracy High School. Stopped here on a desperate whim after my search for Shorter's BBQ came up short. Foster's has been around almost as long as I have. I feel they are a step up from McD's. I made a great choice. Got the #1 with a hot fudge milkshake and a vanilla cone. The crinkle fries here are really thick and potatoey. The burger patty was ok. Nothing amazing but it wasnt bad. Way better than sonics. By no doubt they got the best burgers but unfortunately 20 minutes before closing they refused to pick up their phone because they did not want to make no Burger for pickup. So I had to drive there and right on the dot of closing of course they didn't want to make my burger. I would of gave 5 stars based on being the best burgers place but they get 3 based on not picking up there phone and bad customer service when I got there. Just went here and my boyfriend tried to use the bathroom and they said they don't have one. We drive away to use the restroom and come back and we see someone else in there. When we came back and ordered, they messed up our order.. when I told the cashier, Marilu, she decided to argue with me about what ordered. Then I pay for bacon and there is no bacon in any of the burgers. The worst part about it is they didn't make our burgers over, but just cooked some bacon and added it to the already cold burger that I got before even complaining about the no bacon. Eating a cold cheese burger is not cool. What a bad experience. It's not about the money we spent, but about better customer service when we do go there. Fosters Freeze has been around forever! I remember walking home from Junior High in San Jose a stopping at Fosters near Japan Town. It was a daily trip for a drink or ice cream cone. Chocolate swirl! Haven't had there burgers in years but I'm certain they are still great. Usually when I go to Fosters these days, its for dessert and I am never disappointed. I am glad they remodeled the Tracy location but they should stay open later than 8:30p or 9p but they are in a sketchy area, guess its for safety reasons?? read more

The food quality varies between rear some visits and mediocore at best other times. I oredered a combo meal and a twister, only to have the ice cream made and sitting out before the fries were dropped. By the time I was given my ice cream, after the associate had cleaned various counters and started ny burger, it was already visibly dripping on the counter. More so, the candy was not mixed and resulted in melted ice cream and large 1/4-1/2" chunks floating throughout. This will definetly deter me from vusitig again in the future. read more

A Tracy institution. It is hard to believe this place is still around considering many times I don't see a soul in there, but I guess they make due because the Greyhound bus stops there. Anyways they obviously specialize in desserts which are awesome, but they also do burgers, fries, wraps, and burritos. On my most recent visit I had a Pastrami sandwich which was a little on the grizzly side, and a Rocky Road twister, which was awesome. They guys have made a name with desserts, so if your in town and craving ice cream, check these guys out. read more

I love to get the the Reece's Twister! It's just divine! Hot fudge sundae is a close second. I know alot of people in my family love the shakes there. Peach and pineapple are favorites in our family. Best place in town for softserve cones, shakes and twisters. Their burgers and fries are always freshly cooked. Very reasonable prices and the quality is very good. Hope they got their softserve machine fixed. Its brand new and shouldn't be giving the ladies problems. read more

Overpriced by a dollar fifty, but their burgers taste better than McDonalds. They also charge for cheese, but they don't tell you that sometimes so you better ask for no cheese when ordering.
