Update - 02/12/2026 I brought my mother here for lunch on a weekday afternoon. We were immediately greeted with a smiling face and lead to our table near the window on the first level. Everything looks the same and the same friendly atmosphere resides. Service is always awesome, and so is the food. This time we both chose the fish and chips lunch which includes 3 good sized pieces of batter dipped fish, and perfectly crispy fries. It was all great. Prior visit - This is a great little place to be for a meal. Totally unassuming from the street and even when you walk up, as it is in a small strip business center off of 11th Street. When I walked in for lunch, I was immediately greeted by a guy behind the bar (which is right at the door) with a smile. I proceeded upstairs to the clean and comfortable 'loft' and grabbed a table along the window so I could see out. The interior is clean and simple, open first floor to second floor ceiling. Great music playing, and just a nice vibe all the way around. Andrea, came by with a smile and greeting, asked if I had any questions, and headed off with my order. I didn't get the bartender's name, but he was just as attentive and super nice, as he came upstairs to my table and described some of the beers he currently has available. Small batch craft beers are good. . . Food: The menu is not so 'typical' as you get to select your protein, the sauce or spice for that protein, then your carb, and your veggie (or make it a salad). Nice choices too. My chicken with Korean BBQ sauce, beer batter fries and grilled Brussels sprouts was good, especially the sprouts. My chicken was on the dry side, but I have a feeling it may have been due to the fact they were managing a party of 15 as well as all the other patrons while I was there. While out shopping, we noticed this corner spot called "The Upper Room Kitchen" and decided to check it out. We were promptly greeted and sat near a window. The restaurant was decorated in the style of a pub. Our server was very pleasant and answered our questions about the menu. We tried the chips and queso for starters. The cheese was very creamy and tasty. For our main course my wife ordered the Cajun pasta. She really liked the spices in it. I had the garlic shrimp pasta which I found creamy and flavorful. Went to have lunch around 1215 on a Tuesday. The ambience seemed a little light and slow. The service was great. We were seated right away. What spoke loudest was the food here was on point from the crispy brussels sprouts to the sweet potato waffle fries to the special mac & cheese cheeseburger and even the grilled chicken sandwich which had melted cheese and was delicious. Big rave for The Upper Room for letting us host a baby shower! Their manager Nicole was so nice and helpful when we planned our catered menu, our server Kane was the most attentive and sweet host, and our private space was the perfect size for our party of 20. The food was great (my daughter kept asking for more and more steak), condiments and side dishes were delicious, they offered a kids menu, and they let us decorate the space to make it extra special. The service was impressively fast, even with a full house, and the staff stayed friendly and attentive the entire time. We ordered delivery last night for our anniversary dinner, as this is one of our favorite Tracy restaurants. We noticed that we were unable to order sides à la carte, and called the restaurant to see if there was anything that could be done. Their customer service goes above and beyond; not only did they go out of their way to add all of their sides to their DoorDash menu immediately, but they sent us mashed potatoes on the house! They even got the food out to us 15 minutes before the food was expected to arrive! As always, everything was delicious, hot, and the texture was comparable to what we get when we eat at the restaurant as well. You can tell that the staff here cares about their to go customers just as much as those who dine in. We are so appreciative about the service and quality of food that we received last night, and cannot recommend this place enough!! I came here with my friends for the first time last Saturday. We arrived a little after opening, so the restaurant was pretty empty. A staff member greeted us and asked if we wanted to sit downstairs or upstairs. We decided on upstairs. All 3 of us ordered the Chicken Bruschetta Wrap. We had the choice of one side, and we each picked something different. I chose fries. Our food came out about 15 minutes later. The food was delicious. The wrap was cut in half and was a good size. I was very full after finishing the first half, so I took the second half home (and my friends did the same). The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - loved them. The chicken bruschetta was very yummy. Since we were there for an early lunch, the wrap was perfect - light but still filling. The balsamic glaze added a nice sweet and tangy flavor. I've dined at this restaurant several times in the past and have always enjoyed the experience, which is why I chose it for a special birthday dinner. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. The quality of the food was noticeably below the standard I've come to expect. What was meant to be a celebratory evening turned into a letdown, with dishes that lacked flavor, freshness, and attention to detail. It's disheartening to see such a decline from a place I once recommended to others. We were seated upstairs right by the windows and loved the 11th street vibes. We found out during our time there that they were under new ownership. Little did we know that one of the nice women that was serving us was the new owner. The fact that the owner was getting her hands dirty and serving tables blew my mind. Went there yesterday for the first time and weren't all that impressed. Got the fried picks and peps app. Few pieces were still frozen in the middle. Got the UR Burger, nowhere on the menu description does it say it comes with sauce.. this one did. Not even sure what the sauce was. Found that a little odd. Sat at the table for 15 minutes after our plates were cleared waiting for a check that never came. Service left something to be desired. The place wasn't busy by any means necessary. We did not notify anyone of the menu vs actual food inconsistencies. We just made it work. But having a food service background, I couldn't help but wonder about food allergies and all the bad things that could have happened. That was very alarming to me. Seeing this place on the road to a job, coming from out of town, easy - nice building. Making a reso was key, as the lunchtime crowd comes in. The server greeted us, and turns out she was also the bartender... Michelle is her name. She so easy-going, funny, relatable, friendly. We went with her menu recommendations, and the food cooked up did not disappoint. Michelle is attentive (not overly), took time to chat with us about the area, even when she was waiting on several tables, which I'm sure she gave 100% attention to as well. The appetizers were delicious, good starter to a super delicious meal for each of us. The staff here was some of the friendliest we have experienced in a long while. The chicken sandwhich and beer battered fries were so good. The star of the show was their Ranch dressing. It was some of the best I have ever had. It went so well with the chicken sandwich. I honestly didn't care for my drink it was way too sweet. Hello Nicole (owner), You are incorrect in the information you have posted about out visit. Your time frame is completely inaccurate. We waited 10 min. just to sit down. Then we waited longer and longer. We absolutely did NOT entice any one else to leave. The other couple who just walked in asked my husband how long we had been waiting. His answer was "awhile". (that's it) They got up and left at the same time we did. Your regular customer told you something that was not true. And finally, it had nothing to do with hunger. Do not come here for Sunday brunch!! Such a big disappointment. They wanted to do cool Sunday brunch to keep up with other restaurants but failed miserably. We came at 10:05am for the brunch since they supposed to open at 10am. We saw the closed sign at the door. My husband went in first to inquire and it turned out that the hostess forgot to switch the sign. The brunch menu was sad at its best. Not a lot of options and no kids menu for brunch, only for lunch. If you are going to do brunch, I expected the restaurant to do well and come up with varieties for the menu. They only have sourdough as bread options, not even wheat toast. What kind of breakfast place only have one kind of bread. We have to ordered everything a la carte since they didn't have anything like breakfast with pancakes, bacons, eggs, and potatoes options. The food took 35 minutes to arrive because the cooks were late to their shift. The excuse that we got was because of the time change, they ran late. It's 10am!! How are you going to function as a restaurant with irresponsible employees? Other breakfast places open earlier than that and they are fine. My husband got fried chicken Benedict and it was ok. I ordered 2 orders of sourdough bread toast, one side of sunny side eggs, one order of bacon and sausages. They charged 2 pieces of bacon for $5 . That's ridiculous. The server didn't come to check on us til toward the end of the meal. They forgot one order of our toast. I told her about it when we got the check to take it out but not sure if she take it out since she didn't give us the itemized receipt when we got our credit card receipt back. Shady business. The food came out 5 minutes after we got our appetizer, so we barely had time to eat it. The salmon was overcooked and the balsamic brussel sprouts were overloaded with balsamic. The fries were good, but for garlic fries it barely had garlic. Little modifications could make it all better. Worth trying them again to see if things improve. read more

I visited The Upper Room for the first time back in March and after the awesome food, and atmosphere, I looked forward to coming back on the regular. Unfortunately, Upper Room closed for renovations shortly after. After checking instagram religiously and driving by every now and then I was excited to see they reopened back in September! I went back recently and I was lucky enough to meet the new owner Nicole! She seemed very busy as would be expected running one of the biggest staples of Tracy. But I could tell she was making it a point to make me and everyone else there feel welcome and ensure we all got great service. Kind of brought a tear to my eye haha. The atmosphere felt just like remembered it if not better and the food was awesome! I looked forward to becoming a regular! Congrats Nicole! read more

First let me start by saying my family and I were excited to try this restaurant out. We went here on my Birthday 4/17/25. My daughters had made reservations so we arrived a little early. it was myself along with 3 of my children. My other two children arrived shortly after. When we walked in a heavier set waitress with brown hair observed us come in. She looked our way but did not immediately greet us. Okay, cool. You are busy. We understand. When she did finally acknowledge us, she acted as if she was annoyed and stated she would be right with us. She continued on with what she was doing. She went to the kitchen, came back out, and went to serve patrons upstairs. Now when my oldest two had arrived, I told them I'm already not feeling the vibe here. I told them what we had experienced so far. I told them how she was acting towards us before they arrived. When the waitress came back down the stairs, she went over to a counter area, then came back and went straight to another table. Still not acknowledging us. She acknowledged her pick up order though. When she finally came over to us she asked us how many we had, we were trying to let her know we had an reservation, she brushes us off and points to the table nearest the entrance and tells us we can just sit there. Now look. I'm a chill person. But what we are not going to do is act like we are peasants in your establishment, and act like we are putting you out or something. You were all smiles at the table that would've been behind us. As I walked to the table I was pissed. She didn't ask us about the reservation. Didn't even ask if this is where we wanted to sit. Just flippantly wave us towards the table. my oldest says do you even want to eat here, because we don't like her attitude, to which I agreed. Now you have me coming out of character. As we left I most certainly DID leave their establishment with some loud choice words. I wouldn't eat here if this was my last freakin supper. Food probably bland and nasty anyways! The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the staff incredibly friendly.
