Part one of a two part foundation project Recently we had…read moreour house foundation repaired by Groundworks out of Fairfield. One bedroom had sunk by almost 5 inches as that part of the house had been built on fill. In order to restore the house to it's proper level numerous foundation jacks and floor leveling screw jacks were required. In addition some landscaping bushes and pvc sprinkler pipes had to temporarily removed. Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. The house is now level, the doors no longer swing on their own and the interior cracks between the walls and ceiling joints no longer exist. Prior to the crew leaving the yard was cleaned up and the pvc pipes replaced. Best of all Groundworks will come back annually to the next 5 years and make any necessary adjustments. The Groundworks crew that made this happen was Andrew, the site supervisor, Charlie and Allen. Their performance and daily communication was superior on all levels. This is part 2. The Groundworks Poly crew of Anthony & Brian were very fast and efficient in completing their part of the foundation repair contract which was to level our family room slab floor. Fast, yes, but Anthony did take the time to not only explain what they were going to do but also walked me through the process as they were working. I have no problem in recommending them & Groundworks to other home owners who need to have their foundation repaired.

The pool was installed in 1999…read moreand is still looking good, but the concrete structure showed its years and had linear cracks in places and one place the concrete shifted about a quarter of inch. So I thought I would have it repaired for beautification purposes. Brian the representative that came out is a fast talker and didn't explain the process of what Groundworks would and could do to improve the cracking of the concrete floor! I certainly thought that after paying $4000.00+ dollars I would be able to see a difference in the concrete. I didn't see no difference other than some lifting on the crack by the steps of the pool. Another problem I have is their is overspray of the polymer on my privacy fence. I know it is from the polymer because it is where they sprayed by the steps and diving board. I'm certainly not happy with the outcome.The crew that came were here approximately 1 hour 33 minute. Brett came out to do an assessment on our entire foundation and his finding was consistent with our own inspection report. Their recommendation is also on par and we find that Brett is quite knowledgeable about the scope of work. He is also very patient, responsive and respectful throughout the estimating project while we took a long time to decide, a lot of follow ip questions and requests. Not once that I felt rushed, pushed or disrespected. The team kept me informed on the timeline of permit, project starting time, inspection and completion, everything was transparent. They passed inspection without problemsx Our foreman is Humberto who was polite, dependable and kept me well informed on the work they performed the day of, when they finished work and provided needed before and after pictures. I also find their pricing is reasonable compared to other companies that we interviewed with the experience that far exceeds their piers. Overall I had a good experience with the crew. They are polite and really didn't interfere with our life that much while they work. I would recommend them for all foundation repair needs. Be careful because lots of foundation companies will scam you, just because you will not be able to see what they did underneath your crawl space. The last foundation company came out to fix our house they made a bunch of noise for 2 weeks, said they are done and then we hired an independent inspector and confirmed they did nothing. Spend the money on a good company. This one is probably the best one ( we interviewed 6 companies)

Kyle initially came out to evaluate my project and give me a bid. His communication was clear, and he assured me there would be a direct line of communication between himself and the crew who would be doing the work, which was one of my priorities in choosing a contractor. His bid was a little less than another bid I got, but cost was not why I went with them. Jason and Ernie then came out to do the work, and Jason had been briefed by Kyle with the nuances of the project. Jason was careful to describe what he thought would work best, and he kept me in the loop along the way. The work came out great, and no sooner had Jason and Ernie left than Kyle was on the phone to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Start to finish there was clear communication, effective follow-through, and my expectations were met. What more do you want when hiring a contractor? I would definitely hire Foundation Solutions again.

NAB removed all the bad concrete and replaced it with pavers, and on the other side of the court, they added 5 feet of concrete where we had lawn, as well as adding to our existing retaining wall. After the pavers were installed, I noticed something not to my preference with the paver layout. I contacted Nick, our site manager from NAB, and he was very responsive, and arranged for Nate (the company president) to come out right away and discuss the matter, which was resolved that same day to my complete satisfaction. Nick also was happy to arrange for a few other small tasks related to bricks and concrete on our property to be taken care of, and they were - at no added cost. NAB construction was not the lowest bid we got for this work, but I have learned the hard way that going with the lowest price is not always a great idea, and I am glad I went with NAB for this project. I'm very satisfied with the results of this project, and would not hesitate to recommend NAB construction to others.

We wanted a walkway installed so we went back but this time we dealt with someone by the name of Nick Vard. He was very unprofessional and used the terms "outside the scope of work" and asked us to make a "commitment" several times. I went to Brickyard on a Saturday at 8AM per the direction of Nick but when I called him about our selection he never called me back. He blamed us and said they lost money on the job because it took longer than expected. He tried to convince me to use a brick I did not like. And the biggest disappointment was the drainage that they left unfinished. We spent almost $10k but we feel like the job is incomplete. Wish we could recommend them but if they continue working with Nick Vard you should stay away.

Although E-Mora Construction had a full schedule, they managed to squeeze me in and completed the work ahead of schedule. The workers were great, and tidied up after work finished for the day. The sump pumps and moisture barrier were installed in two days.
