I suspect the integrity and professionalism of Foundation Solutions. [Context] Before I purchased my current property, the listing agent contacted Foundation Solutions for a foundation crack issue and they provided a cheap quote, which made us think the foundation issue not serious at all, and bought the house. But after we bought the house and shopped around a few other foundation companies and structure engineers, they all advised against Foundation Solution's approach and recommended a comprehensive repair approach which costs much higher. If Foundation Solution can stand by their cheaper approach with high confidence and expertise, I would recommend 5 stars for providing a cost-effective solution for homeowners. But instead, they declined the project because they now felt uncomfortable fixing the cracks after we asked for clarifying questions; they also said now that fixing crack is not their expertise; their expertise is fixing the soil-related problem. [Reasons for not recommending] We felt extremely annoyed and upset with Foundation Solution 1. If Foundation Solution now felt uncomfortable to repair our foundation, then they provided a misleading quote during a property transaction period, which impacted our decision to purchase the house; this is at best unprofessional and at worst not honest. We are considering a lawsuit here 2. Foundation problem can be scary, especially for first-time homeowners like us. I have been sleepless the last 3 weeks since noticing hairline cracks in my post tensioned slab in the garage. The cracks were growing in length and width and new spots were forming. After searching online for solutions, I found Jordan who scheduled me about 2 weeks out. I continued to send pictures of cracks in the garage not knowing if I had an emergency situation. Jordan called me and after talking through my situation, it seemed unnecessary for him to come out so I canceled our appointment. I live near the Foothills in Blossom Valley (San Jose), and noticed some drywall cracking near my bay window and also some stucco outside. Of course, my wife and I feared the worst and figured our home was going to fall through the ground. As a Real Estate professional, I know that we live in an area with clay like soil, which makes the soil very expansive and susceptible to movement. That being said, we wanted an expert to come out and assess the issue. I called Foundation Solutions, and Jordan ended up getting me on his calendar a few days out. His colleague, Colin, came out to my house, and used a water device (hooked up to tripod) to measure the flooring levels in different parts of the house. It was determined that one corner of the home had settled about an inch, but the zero or level point was more than 25 feet away, so he didn't recommend any foundation repair at this time. He said the biggest thing to fix is the drainage in that side of the house, to prevent too much moisture from accumulating near the foundation. I was really impressed with this guy's integrity. He could have easily scared me into thinking I needed a $25,000 underpinning job, but instead, stated that for a 47 year old home to settle one inch...things could be a lot worse. These guys have 5 stars because of their honesty, integrity and work ethic, not to mention their knowledge of this business. If you ever have any concerns, give these guys a call. read more

I had Foundation Solutions for an on site assessment for a settlement issue. Jordan and Colin were transparent and patient in very in sharing their objective assessment. For example, they pointed out that because my floating garage slab had settled more than the perimeter foundation, the actual perimeter foundation settlement was actually not as severe as I had feared. By comparison, a project manager from another foundation repair firm didn't have/share the same insight during the on site assessment. Fantastic customer service! I started seeing some worrisome cracks in my stucco. So i did what anyone would do, I googled. And of course everything I read was basically telling me my house was going to fall apart. So to calm my mind I called foundation solutions. I explained we are first time home owners and were freaking out. They set me up with an appointment for a week out and I bit my nails till they arrived. Thankfully it was all good news. The house was not on the verge of collapse as google had me believing, we got some recommendations for a fix and will be working with them in the future. I had what looked like cracks in my foundation that it had me concerned. It took me 2 phone messages and 1 email message before I was called back. However, once I was called back, it was easy and pleasant to set up an appointment for someone to take a look at my foundation. Kyle came out a week later and took detailed measurements of the interior floors and as well as my exterior foundation, and then crawled under the house to inspect the interior foundation. Much to my relief, Kyle confirmed what I had been hoping/suspecting, which is that the cracks I was seeing was not in my foundation, but was cosmetic cracking in the stucco due to the house settling in one corner. He offered that the problem could be corrected with some piers, but the floor was only off about 0.8 inch over 20 feet, and he suggested that we repair the cracks and just monitor the problem. Kyle gave us specific things to watch for that would be red flags for that us that the problem was getting serious enough for us to fix. I really appreciate that Kyle did not try to do any high pressure up selling and gave us options on what we needed to do now and what could wait. This company seems to be very busy, so I was never able to speak with someone directly when I called, but I did eventually get called back. So overall, I would rate this company 5 stars. read more

We had Collin come over to assess some cracks that we had noticed around our house. Another company quoted us different solutions ranging from 13k to $65k for different levels of work and encouraged us to begin work ASAP. The 13k solution sounded like the one that we would need at most. Collin came in, and was quickly able to identify everything that was going on, and explain why what we were noticing wasn't a problem. He gave us instructions on some things to keep a measurement of and only worry if they started to change. Highly recommend! We recently purchased a new home in the Peninsula and wanted to do a foundation inspection before we move in. I reached out to a couple foundation company and scheduled a free visit with Foundation Solution one month later. Meanwhile I was afraid that a free inspection would exaggerate problems and suggest some unnecessary treatment (this is what I heard from some other people) so I scheduled an appointment with another well known company for $600+. It turned out that both company performed similar and thorough inspection procedures and have the same opinion that everything is fine although there are some minor cracks and slight elevation. ISSUE: Subsidence of the Zone 7 groundwater basin causes our Pleasanton homes to sink with the water in the ground water basin being depleted. We have to repair the damage to our home foundations, our homes sinking, and damage inside our homes out of our own pockets. SOULTION: Foundation Solutions, Jason Blasingame, has been a life saver. 9 years ago he put in 22 Ramjack piers that have stabilized our home and still stabilizing it after 9 years. The front of the home did not need piers during that time. PRESENTLY: Now it needed 2 additional piers. My home also needed the closest pier to be adjusted. Jason had his crew of Andrew and Americano perform the work. The adjustment of the previous pier was under warranty and cost nothing. The crew was hard working, professional, friendly, and when the piers started to lift my home they went slowly and watchfully to make sure everything was in adjustment and worked correctly. The Ramjack piers Foundation Solution uses piers that are about 2 times as large as some other contractors, plus the lip going under my concrete slab foundation to hold up my home is about 2 times larger (going further under the slab) than other contractors. CHOOSE WISELY: I have had neighbors using other contractors who had to return 2 or 3 times soon after installing their brand of piers and my neighbor's homes still were not stabilized. read more

Collin came to my duplex in South SJ for a foundation inspection. Although it was a free inspection, I only had to wait a few weeks for an available time slot which was really surprising. Like many other prior reviews, Collin gave very honest opinion & did not try to upsell anything. He did not observe any issue with my foundation except one front corner that may be weakening and need close observation. He didn't think I need to repair that corner right away but I do need to have proper drainage & correct finish grade % to direct water away from the house. I recently found some small cracks on the ceilings and walls of my house. I am so worried about the foundation, so I decide to find an expert to do some inspection. I searched Yelp, and found Jordan among a ton of suggestions. I am so glad that I made a right choice. Jordan called one day ahead to confirm the appointment and showed up at my house on time. He listened to my descriptions carefully, and then used a profession tool to measure the water level of my house. After all the examinations were done, he was so honest to tell me that my house is a good condition. The small cracks were due to settlement. And it is not necessary to do any fix now. It saved me a lot of money on it. He also suggested me how to monitor the cracks to see whether the settlement get worse. He even draw a picture to explain to me why the cracks happened. Earlier this year I had an engineer come out and run a report on our foundation for our home in Santa Clara. The vendor that did the report did a great job, and we started looking for contractors to perform the necessary repairs. We eventually decided to go with Foundation Solutions. Jordan came out and gave us way more information than anyone else, very professional and did it around our availability. Many other vendors kept saying once the work was done they wouldn't warranty it or the warranty was very short. Jordan's team was very respectful, told me exactly what they were doing, and didn't BS me. I owned a older house and they told me exactly what problems they were encountering and what they were doing to resolve them. Eventually we couldn't get it perfectly leveled, but it was very close and they explained it all to me, as well as showed me. Jordan even came in to confirm everything. A little over 6 months later, we've had no further issues and we're getting ready to sell our house. I made the mistake of lending the foundation paperwork to an architect I was going to hire, and they completely disappeared, so now I need that paperwork for the next owner.
