Elixir specializes in mushroom coffee and other healthy tonics. And I was able to chat with the owner for a bit about his business and passion behind it. It's clear he is very knowledgeable. He was eager to take me through the menu. And I ended up getting a caffeine-free chai latte, that was perfectly sweet and hit the spot. This spot has blends you can buy and take home. I also like how this business seeks to give people an alternative to bars, when you want to get out, sip on something, but be careful about it. This is definitely worth a visit to learn more.

I enjoyed a calming cup of tea, tempted to chill on their retro couch and pull tarot cards (they had a 'Dark Crystal' tarot deck out for guests to use!), but I sat by the window, surrounded by plants, and people-watched on and off as I worked a little. After an hour - yes - tarot time! An added perk is its attachment to Eggs Over Frankfort. The staff in the cafe, who was very sweet and helpful, let me know I can order food from them and still enjoy their cafe! I will definitely be back for a drink with Crescent Hill, then a meal from next door. I absolutely love the openness of working together, both uplifting each other, and therefore uplifting the community. This is what I love about living in Louisville.

I asked about the bon bon flavors, since they were not labeled and it seemed that most of them has the same filling even though the outside was different. Mm... excited about that. But still got a few. Also got a caramel, which was rich, delicious and a great consistency. The bon bons were fine. Nothing to write home about. I also got a swiss roll. The flavor was okay, the cream was good, but it felt a bit confused in flavor and I didn't love it. But worse yet, there was a string in it that I unfortunately did put in my mouth and chew. Lastly I tried a cinnamon lollipop. It was hard to get the wrapper off of it as it stick the the pop. The shape was odd and jagged. The flavor was a nice spicy cinnamon, but unfortunately the texture seemed off. It was hard, but also sticking to my teeth, but not in the way you expect. So I tossed it. I hate to add on to what is already a pretty critical review, but as soon as I walked it just felt a little cluttered and uninspired. There were display shelves, but they looked a little dusty and ignored. I think calling yourself a French patisserie just puts an absolutely high standard on your shoulders, and for me this was (at least this visit) a let down.

Everything is crafted with consistency and attention to detail. Even the pastries and small bites pair perfectly with the drinks. We love the cheddar chive biscuit! What really makes Sunergos stand out is the experience. It's the kind of place where you can meet a friend, get some work done, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with an incredible cup of coffee. St. Matthews is lucky to have a coffee shop this good. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-tier coffee, great people, and a relaxing atmosphere! Our experiences have always been great and have no complaints during all of our visits. It is a nice quaint little place just off Grinstead Drive. The space here is decent and seating can be limited depending how busy they are. It's like being in someone else's home while feeling at home at the same time. They have seasonal menus like most local coffee shops do. I love their winter drinks where you get a small butter cookie and you can dunk it in the drink. This coffee shop is so stinking cute. They have coffees, smoothies, scrumptious looking baked goods and so much more. The baristas were so friendly and the vibe was just spot on for me. They had the best decor. You could tell they take pride in their coffee roasting. The place smelled amazing before you even walked in the door. I did purchase some Mexican coffee beans and the barista was so sweet asking me if I needed any information about the different kinds of bean. If it hadn't been closing time, I probably would've. I hated to keep them any longer than we already had. I got a vanilla latte and my friend got a smoothie with whipped cream. My vanilla latte was amazing. And I will admit I did have to open up my bag of coffee beans and grind a cup up and it was so so delicious. So the moral of the story is people don't pass by this place stop walk and get a phenomenal coffee and whatever you want and I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Don't let this place pass you by like I did.

They have a cooler in the middle of the store for drinks. Since we were in a hurry (to get to our destination) my friend got a bottled glass coke and I got bottled glass Fanta. The employee behind the counter was quite interactive and was interested in knowing what prizes we got after getting the stamps on the passport.
