    Buffalo Chicken on Spinach Wrap
    Keri C.

The second I walked into Blak Koffee, I was greeted by the owner, the warm sounds of content chatter, and the hustle and bustle of a cozy cafe. The menu looked fantastic, and for coffee, I went with one of their signature drinks--the Black Girl Magic, a honey lavender latte. Lavender can be tricky to get right, but this was beautifully balanced and hit just right. Took my first sip and broke into a lil happy dance. For lunch, I got the buffalo chicken wrap, and my friend went with the fried bologna sandwich. Both were flavorful, and satisfying, but not so heavy that you needed a nap afterward--just perfect light lunch fare. My wrap had the right kick of spice, and I absolutely demolished it. Our barista/server had amazing energy, and the owner took a moment to chat with us about ways they're working to involve the community, which made me love the place even more. This is officially my go-to cafe for lunch meetings. What an awesome spot.

Food was amazingly good. Fresh tasting pancakes. Turkey bacon was cooked perfect. Service was also outstanding very informational about their food and place.

The coffee, the views and the food are all immaculately made by this extraordinary establishment I always order my favorite lavender vanilla latte, The croissant sandwich, pepper jack cheese, scrambled egg, and bacon My absolute favorite breakfast spot in Louisville, and the man at the counter is an absolute goat! Bet he remembers you after your 1st visit, and I'm talking about your last order how it was made and who it was made by. Excellent barista and the professionalism is beyond top-tier I will always be coming back It's a subtle Jazz symphony style music and calm environment

Blak Koffee -- my new rainy-day gem Walked in and instantly loved the crowd -- mostly Black professionals, college students, families, and entrepreneurs. The energy felt ambitious and comforting. I'm not usually a coffee person, but their Black Girl Magic drink (made with oat milk and dairy-free whip) was worth every bit of caffeine and calories. They offer plenty of real food options too, not just pastries, which makes it easy to stay awhile. The only con is the tea selection -- it's decent but nothing special. Music was at a great volume, the atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, and there were lots of easy-to-find outlets for charging devices. Parking was smooth (there's a lot in the back -- probably helped that I came early though). Overall, it's a beautiful, welcoming space -- perfect for studying, working, or just being part of the vibe on a rainy Monday.

Such a cute place and a great way to support the Russell community/ neighborhood. A coworker introduced me to this place and the food was so fresh and the smoothie was delish! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back.

Blakk Koffee offers a refreshingly high-quality experience that stands out in both taste and value. I ordered a Vanilla Cappuccino, which was rich, flavorful, and served in a generous 16-ounce portion--well worth the $6 price tag. The cappuccino was smooth and perfectly balanced, far superior to similar offerings from typical fast-food chains. I also ordered the sausage, which was priced around $4. The sausages were well-prepared, juicy, and had a homemade touch that I really appreciated. It's clear that attention to detail and care go into their food preparation. While my total came to about $11, the quality and portion sizes made it an excellent value, especially when compared to other breakfast options. Blakk Koffee's offerings far surpass the standard fare, making it a great spot for anyone looking for a more satisfying meal and drink. Overall, a highly recommended experience that delivers both taste and value. Any menu recommendations? All of them look as if they were prepared with care and meself in mind. Can I order online? Yes.

Run don't walk!!! This place is such a lovely spot with amazing coffee! I tried the fried chicken sandwich, it was delicious. The buns were toasted and it came with the lettuce, tomato and cheese. For coffee, I got the blak boy joy. I got it iced with almond milk! And wowwwww. It's reminds me a lot of the *good tastes* from a Starbucks Carmel frappe. But it's even better because it's a local spot instead! It is definitely on the sweet side but very worth it. The service was great, I am generally slow to pick out what I want but the lady at the counter was patient with me. They bring your food out when it's ready. It was a nice mix of younger college aged kids and business professionals here, I love that all ages feel comfortable gathering. Overall: amazing food, amazing vibes, and I cannot wait to come back!

Zero complaints! Lovely place. Super clean and definitely business friendly. Guests wifi and plugs available for chargers. Excellent customer service. The food is delicious! I love the menu... a variety of items to choose from. The croissant is so good and pairs perfectly for the breakfast sandwich. The chicken wings and waffle were good as well. On my next visit, I would love to try the C&W with the chicken breast and also try the chicken sandwich.

Nice location that opened in April 2023. It is a black owned business offering coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast items, smoothies, salads, soups and snacks. It is right on the corner of 12th and Jefferson. There is parking out front and in lot on the side. Food is made to order so may take a second, however it is worth the wait. Our group of 16 ordered many items and everyone enjoyed. They have a website to view hours and menu. Definit support this local business.

You order at the window, take a buzzer, get your drinks and find somewhere to sit. We (a party of 4) showed up around 11 on a Sunday morning and the line was already out the door. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything we saw coming out before us looked just as delicious as the last. After the owner greeted us and gave a run down while in line, we settled on the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, bread pudding french toast with a side of bacon, and a chicken and bacon croissant sandwich. (I wanted to order the biscuits and gravy weekend feature but they were already sold out.) The girl at the register was polite but very soft spoken so we had trouble hearing what she said. The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately without scalding yourself, and the different flavorings and types of milk/cream to choose from was a major plus! There were no complaints about any of our food except the steak was a bit under seasoned. I had the french toast, and, in my opinion, is enough for 2 people. There was a bit too much whipped buttercream for me but I was able to rake off majority, and the fruit that came on top was so fresh! The bacon was thick sliced and 3 of my 4 pieces were cooked perfectly to my liking - not too crispy, not too soft! We all were part of the clean plate club after eating because the food was that good! I wished now we would have taken pics of our food before eating! It's a shame it came up as #16 on my Yelp search because it wasn't even the least bit on my radar for our breakfast spot. The Hot Brown is an open-faced turkey sandwich. A thick slice of turkey is served over thick-sliced bread. The turkey is covered with mornay (béchamel with Gruyère cheese), topped with bacon, sprinkled with parmasean and broiled in a gratin-dish, served with a roasted tomato. I went to Foko after hearing nonstop hype about it being one of the absolute best breakfast spots…read morein Louisville. The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.
