Been coming here since buying a house on NOFO 8 years ago. We come here all year long and not just summers and the food and service is always consistently good with the loveliest servers... just went last night and had the special appetizer of Asian flavored ribs which were out of this world, soooooo good ... then had the dinner special of filet mignon w potato purée and string beans. Perfectly cooked and the Demi glaze was out standing. Not sure where these others who say some servers and owner are rude, they just can be nicer and more accommodating....best value for the money on NOFO as other restaurants are just way over priced and food is awful.... this is a go to !! read more

A great find. Open late on Fridays and Saturdays until 11pm which is very convenient if you're traveling late on from the city. Most places on the East End closes early. Open is bar next to dining area. There's a big board that lists all the dinner specials. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The food has a local home cooked feel. We ordered the Local Oysters Florentine for appetizer and skirt steak and sautéed soft shell crab for entree which were very tasty. Service is excellent and very friendly. In a neighborhood that seems to have good access to better than average meat (even at the supermarket) this is where I go for a hamburger. They know the difference between medium and medium rare. When you ask for it rare the center will be red but the outside will still have a satisfying crust. Have a draft beer with it- the wines are all too young and jolly rancher. I'm sure the rest of the menu is good too. And just right service, so tip generously. read more

What a great local pub and restaurant. When you are inside you can't help but feel that this place tries to be early American in style. Very warm colors, kept the atmosphere. Now for the food. Delicious luncheon menu. I had a chicken pesto, roasted peppers panini. My friends had the chicken BLT. Both were very satisfying. Service is ok, but not attentive. Did not get refills of water when glasses were empty. Had to request it. Otherwise an enjoyable lunch on a beautiful sunny Thursday. Will come back. read more

This place is pricey for having a pub vibe (entrees in the $10 - $20 range), but most things out on the east end are fairly pricey, and the food is good. I've been here a couple of times when visiting Southold with family, and I got the daily fish special each time. The first time, it was a cumin-crusted fish that was AMAZING; the sort of fish I dream about. The second time, it was rather bland -- so the fish specials are hit and miss. My mom tried the filet tips, which were decadent and delicious and really super. They're gluten free friendly; my sister has celiac disease and can eat here with no problem. They messed up her order the first time around, serving her a burger with a wheat bun (!). But they immediately apologized, cooked her a new one, and took the burger off the bill. The beer list is short, but interesting with good local options. It's worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Founders has always been a mainstay of cozy and ambience until now, we are local and have been customers since their inception like 16 years, but recently we have been given directives like how long we can stay ....we always left 20% plus tips to the bus boys and the runners as of late, we were not welcome, and after having made a reservation.. though we always spend a lot of money on 10 to 12 people when we arrive we are not rude we are in the dining room, but they make sure latelyto let us know we have to be out of there by a certain time. I've never been to a restaurant in my life where we were given a deadline time. Very disappointed in Founders and when I had Calamarie a week or so ago me and my daughter had food poisoning .. I always loved the ambience of founders but that ambience is know tainted forever... and I might add, the bathrooms after all these years are still quite and continue to be totally disgusting! read more

I am a fan of the "build a burger" which includes almost everything, not to mention fries. onion rings or sweet potato fries-your choice. They also care about what their custrmers think. Stopped by after an exhausting day of travel with my wife. We were immediately greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked through the door and taken to a table near the entrance of the restaurant. The atmosphere reminded me of my hometown, with a very family local type atmosphere. They have a great selection of local and New York beers on draft and bottle. The food was excellent, with the lobster and corn chowder stealing the show. Overall a great experience at an affordable price. The food was better than most restaurants I've been to on the North Fork. The fried calamari was lightly breaded and served perfectly done. I had the tuna tacos special and there was more tuna on those 3 tacos than I had on an entree from Noah's. Not only that, the tuna was seared and served perfectly rare. Great gastro pub with an eclectic menu. Nice bar area and the dining area was lively so don't feel bad about bringing the kids.

Nice selection of draft beers including a few good microbrews. I had the cod special and it was delicious....it may have used a little more flavor on the spinach but was still fresh and amazing. The service at the bar was great too! read more
