I was so excited to go to this establishment. My wife and son had been there before and were very pleased. So when we had guests visiting from England we thought this would be a fun experience for all. I went online and was informed by their website that we should book a lane ahead of time due to the COVID protocols. We booked and paid $80 online for an hour and a half of bowling for five people. When we got there all seemed to be okay. There was a sign requiring mask compliance. As we walked to our lane we saw a bunch of people not following New York State mask requirements. The spacing requirement was fine at our lane until we started to bowl. A few minutes later the empty lane sharing ours was filled with a group of people with no masks. We went to the worker to complain and were told they would move us. What we wanted to know was why they weren't following New York State law and making sure everyone was wearing a mask? They also were not follow social distancing as they had people at just about every lane. They advertise their compliance as a way to assure law-abiding citizens that they are safe, when they are clearly not enforcing the mask mandate. It seems they are trying to have things both ways (they got our money upfront with the promises of following COVID protocols then they catered to all those who refuse to comply to get their money too). In fairness they did offer us a credit to their establishment (not our money back) but I honestly would not have subjected my friends and family to the risk were it not for their assurances. The next complaint will be to the Suffolk County/New York State Departments of Health. Don't always believe what this establishment posts online, because in my opinion this was false advertising. read more

I usually don't go around leaving 1 star reviews but the service warranted it. They stole our money because they don't know how to track payments. First, our lane wasn't working and it took 20 minutes and 4 of us separately going to them to get them to acknowledge it and move us. Second, they told us to expect a waiter to come over to us. But no one came. We are definitely not against going to the bar to order but if we are told differently then of course we then expect that. Just odd to not know how to manage customer expectations by being upfront. Third and worst, we ordered food on a tab. The last dish someone ordered and paid for separately. When we settled the tab, they charged us for it again. So, we pointed out that one dish was paid for separately. They didn't seem to want to understand that and kept coming up with ridiculous reasons as to why we should pay for it again, including accusing us of ordering random dishes that we didn't order. We loved it because the staff were very attentive and friendly. 5 star service Came back a few weeks ago and the place was packed. Came here with my girlfriend on a Sunday night, it was mildly busy nothing too crazy and we didn't have a reservation. To start we waited for almost 20 minutes behind one customer because it seemed like the staff was confused on how much to charge the woman for her party. The line was piling up behind us as multiple employees did nothing while there was a second computer that nobody was using. We finally got to the cashier and I asked to rent a lane for an hour. Half the lanes must have been reserved because it was half empty and she said it would be a 2 hour wait for a lane. Unluckily for us the couple behind us got tired of waiting and and didnt want to bowl anymore so they gave us their 7pm reservation. Someone who looked like a manager informed the man that he would not get his $10 reservation fee back that he had already paid online. So they rang me up and it ended up costing $58 for the two of us to bowl for one hour and shoes. Turns out they not only didnt refund the poor guy his $10 but they also charged me the same extra $10 for the reservation that this man had already paid for. Then the manager looking guy had the nuts to tell us we were getting a STEAL for an hour of bowling. Even without the reservation cost this place is pricier to bowl at, and it's very small for a bowling alley so I can see how It would be very hard to just come in and bowl without having to pay for a reservation. There are so many places to bowl in Suffolk county and while most of them aren't as fancy or updated, they have everything you need for a fun night of bowling and at a much lower price. It was also not that roomy very limited seating at the lanes. The party I mentioned earlier was in one of the lanes next to us and we felt crowded and encroached the whole time because they had too many people for the space they were in. Definitely not coming back here to bowl, not when I can buy 3 games each and shoes at almost any alley and spend around 40$ for 2 people and I can take my time and bowl at my pace. And that's not even on a promo night which most places have several a week and there's plenty of space to bowl and no need for pricey reservation. read more

I reserved 3 VIP lanes at All-star bowling for New Year's Eve from 9:30-12:30. When I was standing in line, the Owner looked past me and tried to proceed to the next customer. Second, VIP receives a free pizza and a pitcher of soda or beer. I paid for 3 VIP lanes, so each was supposed to get a pizza and pitcher f a drink?. Because we had a big party size, we wanted to purchase food from the kitchen. After making a few complaints, we were told numerous times that the kitchen was closed, no more cooking. The party next to us was getting food brought to them; chicken wings and fries. In the non-VIP section, people were ordering and receiving food. So we made another complaint. Again was told the kitchen was closed. And yet, people are still ordering food and receiving food from the kitchen. I spoke to the Owner, and he stated that he does not have an answer for me. But here is free 2-hour bowling. My daughter's birthday is New Year. So we thought about how fun to celebrate bringing in the year. The VIP package stated free party favors. All the non-VIP lanes received party favors, but we did not get any favors to bring in the New Year. read more

Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon. Paid for two games, plus shoes, and they put as at one of the ends, in a corner booth. Ordered $150 in food and drinks and were having a good time. About halfway through the second game (so we're almost finished), guy comes over and says there's a party and we have to move to another lane. He say's he will transfer our scores etc. We're a little annoyed, because we were almost done, but said OK and gathered up all of our stuff and walked to the other lane. Well, the other lane is a shared space with a small family. There is room for 3 of us to sit (we had 8 people), no room for our drinks/food. Stood there for over 5 minutes, our score was never transferred. Finally just went over and asked for a refund. Through the whole ordeal of moving us and getting a refund, the party group still had not shown up or set up. We would have been finished and out of there if they just would have let us finish our game. What was supposed to be a fun afternoon out with friends, turned into a piss poor customer service experience for our first time and we won't be returning. Only silver lining was that our waitress was A+. We left her a huge tip and if she worked somewhere else, we'd frequent that place just to see her. read more

Stopped in here with a friend on one of the nights they do the specials (Monday and Thursday 9pm-12am all you can bowl 15 bucks). What an amazing deal. It was my first time there. I've always passed it, but heard it was expensive so never really ventured. This place is nothing like any other bowling alley I've been to. Instead of the traditional bowling alley seating by your designated lanes, there are black leather couches instead. Food and drinks are great. The only thing I would like to see fixed is the amount of staff on a rather busy specials night. There were two people working the entire bowling alley, including serving drinks and food. This is in regards to a planned fund raiser my community had at Allstar last Sunday. First I would like to mention that I am on a league at Allstar and I have never experienced anything but the best care and service by the entire staff especially Lenny. However last Sunday was a disaster. First they put 6 people on a lane when we were promised more lanes if needed, we had to ask for a/c, lights on the lanes, the floors approaching the lanes were tacky and dangerous, there was no music and to top it off the shut down the lanes in the middle of the second game. We objected because we had at least another prepaid hour for the party room. And they did let us finish the second game. I'm embarrassed because I recommended Allstar to the chairperson of the fundraiser which,by the way, was for a scholarship for s student in the Longwood School District. The confusion and unprofessionalism for this event has me reconsidering a party I was planning in September. Unfortunately Lenny is off on the weekends. Allstar needs another guy on the weekends to accommodate customers professionally. read more

I've been here twice now, and had slightly different experiences. The first time was a fairly quiet Tuesday night. We ordered beers and some apps to our lane and everything was fine. Quick service, clean, fun. My younger nephew loved that you can adjust having the bumpers up or down between players. My only gripe was having to pay by the hour instead of by the game, because our hour ran out in the second to last frame of our second game, and we were basically running and throwing the ball to try to finish the game. Came back last Sunday night and it was pretty busy. Nothing crazy, but all the lanes were full. We tried to squeeze seven people on one lane, but luckily our neighbors left and the staff set us up with the other lane so we could spread out. Our food took almost the entire pre-paid hour to get there, between having to hunt our waiter down and the food taking forever. Again, we weren't able to finish our game. I wish they could offer a small fee to just finish a game, so customers could play without feeling rushed or annoyed when their time runs out. I get that you'd rather people just paid for another hour, but I'm guessing most people just leave annoyed instead. On the whole, the All-Star is a fun place to enjoy an evening of bowling, and all the food I've had while there has been pretty good. They also have a much better beer selection than any other bowling alley I've been to. However, it's not cheap unless you go on a night where they have deals, and you might want to bowl fast! read more

I want to like this place. Stopped by with some friends for some beers and bowling. On the plus side, they really put their time and care into designing and constructing the interior of the building. Lots of interesting choices for the atmosphere. Plenty of big screens around (maybe too many) for sports, all top notch quality. They have some strict rules about dress posted on the door, aimed squarely at keeping some unsavory characters away (good thinking). A good selection of beers on tap, and the lighting for the lanes, along with the wall of projector screens above the pins, creates a fun environment. Food was passable but not very good. We ate it, but mostly because it was there and salty and we were drinking beer. Would not come here for the food. But all of the positives fell apart when our waiter brought our bill. Seriously pricey for a bowling experience. Their staff was quick to knock some items off the bill, but almost too quick - got the impression they've been getting a ton of complaints on pricing and have started to systematically, and without much pressure, give discounts so people won't cause a scene. Overall, seems to me they made a heavy investment in the space and are trying to break even too quickly by setting some extremely high prices. It was enough to leave our group in agreement - interesting space, but way too expensive for the experience. Not likely to return. read more

Last Friday 6/14/13 we gathered at The All Star Bowling Facility in Riverhead to have a Team Building Sesion. The Session was 100% organized by The All Star, we had so much FUN ... , we did not do any typical bowling. The three hours flew as we did not anticipate to be entertained to that level ... they know what they are doing in regards to planning and achieving certain team building goals. The VIP Room is fantastic for this type of events as it provides the privacy required to make everyone feel comfortable and willing to participate. The brick oven Pizzas were delicious and the decoration of all spaces make you feel that you are in NYC. We will be back for sure and we recommend it. read more

Have been to All Star several times primarily for dinner/drinks, food is solidly good, burgers, rib eye steak, duck wings all quite good, albeit pretty pricey for Riverhead when there are competitively priced options in town for the same kind of food. The entire place is really very nice, but am not sure that the decor can compensate for $6 Pabst Blue Ribbons and Budweisers. All Star lost a star with me on their rating and probably a long time customer as I went in there Halloween weekend to watch the Oklahoma/Notre Dame college football game at the bar, among the many, many TVs they had there, as their primarily billing is that is bowing alley with a great sports bar. However, as they were in a Halloween theme and had Ninja movies showing on all of the TVs in the place, when I asked to get the game on the TV behind the bar, I was told "no" when the barmaid asked the manager. I then asked if I could watch the game on one of the smaller TVs in the dining area, as they have 20 of them, and again was told "no" by the barmaid via the manager. 50 TVs in a sports bar and I can't watch the game that I went there for in the first place when I am dropping $30 on a rib eye? Kidding, right? Really? I don't care about the bowling, so I would much rather go to Outerbanks at Indian Island for dinner and to watch the game, as they are way, way more accommodating and friendly, will gladly put any game on you want, plus their food as every bit as good and definitely more reasonably priced. For them to survive, All Star really needs to understand the core Riverhead demographic - $6 Buds and $100 for a family day of bowling won't cut it. read more

Amazing (Co-Ed) Birthday Party for my 11 year-old girl ~! The Best Ever Birthday Party ~!! I had 20 children and parents in attendance. The parents and children were all very impressed with The All Star. It exceeded all of our expectations in every regard - Fun, Food, Atmosphere, Service, Management (& Value). In fact, I have three children and this was the best birthday party experience I have ever had. We did the bowling package and purchased arcade cards for the after-party. The attentive service and courtesy of the wait staff (lead by Julie, and et al-?) and management (Matt) was superb. The staff checked in with me constantly and always made sure we had anything we wanted. The facility was super clean and had a vibrant fun tempo. It was a great party that coincidentally had beautiful lanes in front of us. The food was great and even the children ate well. Those home made chips and dip are surprisingly insanely addictive and delicious. We had to take some home. Being provided with pitchers of Chocolate Milk when requested instead of Soda was a huge plus. After the cake, they had a mascot in a bowling pin costume bop around our lanes to take photos. The children loved that surprise too. Having the after party inside the arcade game-room for diversity capped off a perfect overall experience. Giving arcade cards was better than good bags and made for a nice transition to wind-down the party. Everyone noticed the posted specials and made follow-up plans. In any instance, I was so happy to pay the charges at the end of the party and couldn't have asked for more. That type of experience doesn't happen much in life. It is well worth the trip from Sag Harbor. We even bumped into a few others families from our area who were playing at The All Star. Clearly The All Star is well worth driving over an hour to each way to enjoy the experience.
