I grabbed myself some "girl dinner" while here and took advantage of the happy hour food. I was a big fan of the truffle fries and hummus plate. I also ordered a side of the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were odd. It tasted like kettle corn, but not in a good way. The waiter was kind enough to offer some aioli which helped balance out the flavors. I would not get them again and I love Brussels sprouts. Over easy with white toast and bacon. He went with the omelet. The breakfast was average. Nothing is rave about but not bad. The potatoes are wedges and didn't taste like frozen. Good selection of items and the staff are very on top of things with refills and checking in on you. Went there for dinner and I was underwhelmed. Ordered the New York steak and asked for it to be medium rare but it came out more medium to done. The creamed potatoes tasted like box potatoes, not the best version. The Brussel sprouts were not good at all. The house red wasn't terrible though. Server was very nice. Stay away from the NY steak. Putting gravy on a steak should not be encouraged but I understand the attempt at tavern food. However, flavorless and cold gravy should be criminal. The eggs your way seemed like they just grabbed the things from the buffet and then added sunny side eggs and a tomato. The avocado toast was good but the eggs are a little greasy. Flew in from Las Vegas and staying at the Westin near the airport. After I check in at the front desk and checked out my room I decided to have lunch at the Grill & Vine. This is my second time here. First time I came for breakfast a while ago. I sat at the bar and contemplated on what to get since I was going out for dinner and did not want a big meal. The Bartender was really helpful and attentive. He mentioned about their happy hour and recommend I should get the sliders since they were small since I asked him about the Grill and Vine Kobe which he mentioned it is really a big burger. So I ordered the Angus beef sliders and truffle French Fries. The Angus beef slider was perfection. The buns were toasted on the outside and soft inside. Beef patty and coleslaw synchronized very well together. My sliders were proportionally assembled and did not fall apart. The bartender gave me a cute little ketchup bottle as my dipper. Very Cute! I checked into my favorite hotel chain and requested a room upgrade. Unfortunately, the Westin hotel was at full capacity and checking in late didn't help. To show their appreciation of my loyalty, I was given a free drink, which led me to the Vibe and Grill on the premises. I was going to have a drink and wonder to a near restaurant, but decided to stay and eat. Might have been a mistake, as I ended up sitting at the bar listening to a hippie woman trying to sell me on unrealistic sustainability stupidity that would only work in a village of hippies. The place is pretty typical of a luxury hotel restaurant and bar, dark with extreme use of mahogany. The bartenders were pretty cool and attentive. I ordered the San Francisco Cioppino and it wasn't the best or worst I've had, but the bread was the weak link of this entree, very chewy as if yesterday's batch. The broth was flavorful and the seafood was fresh. It was an okay meal, but I wasn't expecting much with my experience with hotel restaurants; sure there are exceptions, but rarely proven otherwise. The following morning I had breakfast as another SPG Platinum perk and it was a nice buffet spread. The eggs were silky and not dried out, and the bacon equally delicious. They had several breakfast items to choose from, roughly 20 feet worth. In all honesty I would only eat here if staying at the hotel and as tonight, lazy to venture out. Hotel bar/restaurant so normally I would grade on a curve but this place was just not good. Sat at the bar with a client for a few drinks and a quick meal. Bartenders literally walked in front of me for ten minutes before I called out to order a drink. Place was busy but the servers literally had their heads down almost like they hoped you wouldn't ask for anything. At the end of the night when I got our check the server added the meal and drinks of a woman sitting next to me, who was there when we got there. The bar sat 10, how do you not notice we weren't together, and why wouldn't you ask??? I got the tortilla soup, completely tasteless. And the margarita flatbread was cardboard.
