This is my favorite coffee spot in Columbus. The coffee and food is delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Friendly staff, good eats and a neat ambiance. I'll be back for coffee or tea again and dine outside for great people watching.

I like the vibe here and the panini sandwich and soup is pretty good. I had the Campagnolo a chicken and red pepper panini sandwich while tasty was pretty small. I got a cup of soup instead of chips for an extra two dollars and a four berry blend smoothie that were all pretty good but the price tag came out to almost $15. A lot for cafe/coffee shop food in my opinion, it was tasty but it's hard to get over the price. The crowd seems to be the performing arts students from CSU since their dorm and center is right up the street-I thought school was out. Occasionally, a person walked in who was relatively harmless but was on the edge of being engagingly friendly and invading personal space. I think price wise it could be a little better but other than that it's not a bad place to kill a few hours. read more

The coffee is tasty, but I routinely have a hard time with interacting with the barista taking my order. I have social anxiety, and it's honestly terrifying knowing I'm going to get an eyeroll for not knowing something is out of stock (i.e. a chai latte). I love this place, I really do and I was excited to be in the store after all these months. But I was shocked by the lack of social distancing. There must have been 30 people including a family with small kids . I was one of THREE PEOPLE wearing a masks. The people there were very nice, but I asked what a good flavor coffee they had that was special to them and they gave me something called The Crack. I don't know how this passes for coffee. It has 0 coffee flavor to it, granulated sugar in a cold brew (sugar doesn't desolve in cold drinks) and just taste like terrible syrup. Not to mention it cost $7 after asking for a milk substitute. If I wanted some terrible tasting syrup for $6 before a substitute I would have went to Starbucks. read more

Not my favorite coffee place in Columbus. My boyfriend and I went around 10am and they had run out of a lot. We both wanted a breakfast sandwich but they ran out of eggs so we just ended up getting a bagel and cream cheese (which wasn't the best). Then we both ordered cold brew and they had enough for my cup but basically ran out for my boyfriends cup and filled the rest of his cup up with almondmilk (so he barely had any coffee in his cup). Then we went to sit outside and eat and we saw one of the workers leave and then 10 minutes later they come back in their car with a whole pitcher of iced coffee. In all fairness, my bias. I am a coffee connoisseur. I buy good beans and good equipment to make sure i get the best cup of coffee possible. I feel that if you state that you are a coffee shop you should also be conscience of ALL the details on getting the best cup of brew. I visit Columbus often to see my son at CSU. I made the coffee house circuit. This is not one of the better shops. At first entry you are hit with the musty odor. In dealing with that first, it made my desire to make a purchase very hard. Next, i looked at the beans in all of the hoppers....they were greasy and sticking to the sides of the bin. This is a tell tale sign of OVER ROASTED coffee. In good faith I continued my order. I had a group so we ordered a Matcha Latte, Cappuccino, House Coffee, and Latte. The Matcha was ok...not a good grade of Matcha powder used here. But none the less it was ok. The Cappuccino vexed me...as they wanted to know if i wanted a large or small? They should never be larger than 8oz. Anything larger is not a cappuccino. All the coffee drinks suffered from the bad roasting. The counter person and Barista were very friendly....but the odor overwhelmed me and i just could not enjoy the atmosphere. Now THIS is a coffee shop! I'm in Columbus on business and had a few hours to chill. I wanted to get a little work done, grab something to eat, caffeinate, and do some leisurely reading while trying to soak in some local flavor. Mission Accomplished. Great location - although parking on a Saturday was a struggle. There was a guy playing an acoustic guitar out front and that pretty much set the tone for the next few hours. Quirky art, a barista with skinny jeans and green hair, small tables with outlets near most of all them, a couple of couches and comfy over stuffed chairs...yep, definitely what a coffee shop should look like and feel like. A decent selection of paninis, soups, and sandwiches to choose from and they have almond milk. God Bless this coffee shop. You can also leave a tip on your card - might not seem like a big deal but sometimes you can't and I don't always know that in advance and it leaves me feeling like a dog because I don't have cash to tip the barista. I may or may not issues. I had a large sugar free almond milk latte and what was billed as the "Worlds Greatest Tuna" sandwich. (I actually had a better one in London in 2002 but this one was still pretty good.) It came with a bag of chips and it was around $12. Not bad for a decent lunch. The perfect mix of locals and folks like me and everyone was welcomed with plenty of good vibes and positive energy. A less-pretentious, but more hipster-y version of Iron Bank Coffee. I've been here a few times for live music shows as well. Service has been awesome every time I've come, and when I've asked for coffee bean recommendations, the staff has been very helpful! Can't speak as to the food, but the coffee I've had here has been great. They also have a selection of board games on hand to play while you're visiting. There are few options for craft beer as well if you're here later in the day. Great spot to sit and catch up with friends. read more

Uptown Columbus seems to be living in a world unto itself with respects to the rest of the city, and in this particular world, Fountain City Coffee is the place to grab some decent coffee (no drip here, just espresso based drinks), The regular food offering looked pretty good, too, but I was just looking to leech some wifi, and I had just eaten. Edit: I've been contacted and informed that I was incorrect about them serving drip coffee, so the decision to serve iced coffee with espresso was a creative decision (and probably a wise one, given iced coffee's tendency to get diluted as the ice melts). read more

Very nice coffee shop in uptown Columbus! I was actually not expecting it as I walked from a lounge down Broadway and really wanted some caffeine. I ordered a skim latte and it was made perfectly. Definitely a "hipster" ambience, but great service and I could tell that the food items were high quality as well. Fountain City Coffee is open late (2am!) and I got there around midnight and there were customers still stopping by for their fix! They offer discounts to college students and local business employees, but sadly, not to military. If I'm in the area, I'll be here again. read more
