We just celebrated our anniversary here tonight. Great experience. The food presentation is top notch. Very attentive service. This is the place you need to go for special date nights or a nice Friday night dinner.

This review is for the restaurant! The Inn has been here for a long time. The restaurant closed for a while. I remember having a filet mignon here then it was very good and melt in your mouth. There is a new owner now and new chef. The service was great, Thanks Mark and Carlos. We did not know what kind of mild red wine to order so Mark brought us 3 red wines to taste. We got served bread and 3 kinds of dippings all good also a complimentary smoke salmon taco on a fried wonton wrappers, delish. My Endive salad was delicious and my husband's steak tartar was so good. Then we got served a small sorbet to clean our palate. Our main course My filet mignon as expected melt in your mouth though the sauce has too much black pepper. Hubby's crispy duck was scrumptious. We emptied our plates. Highly recommend would definitely come back and try different dishes on the menu. They need to update menu on the website, i thought they have mussels for appetizer and seafood bouillabaisse for main course and i was looking forward to it. I kind got disappointed that it was not on the new menu.

Dinner was amazing. Well beyond our expectations and better than anything else in town. Started with a Barr Hill gin and tonic followed by a tuba amuse bouche. The mushroom fiddle head toast appetizer was gorgeous and flavors were perfectly balanced. My husband had the bacon wrapped chicken and I had the salmon for entrees. Everything looked and tasted amazing and was such a surprise. If you haven't been here, you need to go.

Very quaint, very Bed & Breakfast and very "Stars Hollow"... #iykyk Lovely B&B all around, very nice and warm staff, the grounds are beautifully maintained and delicious breakfast. The room I had was not very comfortable, the bed squeaks a lot and every sound your upstairs neighbor makes, you hear it too. I completely get the charm of B&B... but the bathroom makes me miss modern hotels. The water pressure was low, the sink was too small and I was afraid to splatter - just too much unwanted anxiety. I feel like the rooms could be updated a bit to remove years of aging. Side note: for non drivers, this will be a nightmare. It's totally remote, with nothing walkable. No food delivery except for the unhealthy stuff (Pizza Hut/KFC/McDonald). This area requires a car at all times.

Wow. The Four Chimneys Inn is absolutely STUNNING. My bf and I were here for a weekend on our first trip to Bennington. We booked the room months prior so we really had no idea what to expect. We were BLOWN AWAY with how beautiful the room was. The pictures speak for themselves. Everything was so clean and pristine, you can just tell this place is looked after lovingly by the innkeepers. We walked around the grounds and it's evident why people come to get married here, simply stunning. Our stay here was the peaceful weekend getaway we were looking for. We stayed in Room 9, which is the cottage behind the main inn, and it was very spacious and private. The included breakfast was delicious, we had the french toast and scrambled eggs. We can't wait to come back!

Delicious salmon and a Lemon Drop martini.

Enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving meal at the Chinmeys. The food was delicious and had quite an extensive and varied menu especially for a holiday dinner. The staff was friendly and our seating was by a window as requested. The lemon drop martini was spot on as was the everything else we ordered. Will be going again.

We spent a wonderful two nights at the Four Chimneys Inn. Room #2 is huge with a double shower, walk-in closet, large sofa, fireplace and king bed. Rooms are decked with bottled water, robes, plush towels and nightly chocolates. We enjoyed a nightly pre-dinner cocktail of Vermont-distilled Barr Hill Tomcast gin and a hearty country breakfast each morning. This IS the place to stay when visiting the Bennington, VT area.

Room #1 - larger than we expected :)

I came for autumn foliage in October 2015 and loved this place. There are a few groupings of rooms…read more& cottages, not too dense or too remote. They have a pretty large area for walking around with a beautiful view of the mountain and changing leaves. The picnic area and gazebo are very peaceful places to read. Harwood Hill seems to be involved with a lot of local artists, so there are neat treasures scattered across the grounds, the main office has a kiosk of local crafts and pieces of art, and they offer an arts package that gets you a discount at a lot of local attractions and stores. I plan to get this package next time I visit. The staff was very friendly and accessible. The rooms were beautifully maintained, and there was a continental breakfast on the weekends with really tasty bagels and a good range of cream cheese options. No complaints!

This was the exception! Hardwood Hills was not only spotless inside, the grounds were spotless, the people who run the place over and beyond customer service, genuinely nice. They care about how your stay is and was. Can I say it again? Spotless!!! Thanks Martha,Jason,Heath,PJ,Meghan & anyone I may have missed. Also the view exceptional!!! Vermont is so beautiful, so thankful we had the perfect place to stay!!
