We went on a Sat, weekend hours open at 12 but the owner of the brewery gave us the insider news they'll be opening earlier on Sundays for brunch! Walk down the stairs from the food vendor area outside of the general store and you'll find the brewery tucked down in its own private area. Connect4, jenga, bag toss, etc all around to occupy your time. A wine / sangria bar was set up from a local winery and the taps from SB were flowing on the other side. The area is fun and brings a beach vibe to the farm. Music wasn't too loud and there are plenty of spots to sit. Table seating is communal, each has a spot for an umbrella if you prefer shade. We had a great time & a few very good beers. We brought food down from the food vendor area and camped out for an hour or so. Even my almost 3yo was occupied with the games and another kid hanging out. Super fun. Plan to go back soon. This was such a much needed addition to Linvilla we hope they intend to stay.

There are drinking bumper stickers up all over the wall (24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?) two pool tables, a shuffle bowl game that didn't appear to be working and a juke box blasting AC/DC, Ozzy and Skynrd. We were a little turned off by the appearance and ambiance (and one of the locals who had consumed too much Canadian Windsor) but we were pleasently surprised at the beer selection: beers from Troeges, Rouge, Flying Fish, Victory, and all the regulars- Bud, etc. at just $3.50 a pint. In Philadelphia or local breweries, these same pints can go for $4-$6. The worst part about Martin's was the odor of the ladies' room- the air was just dead even though there was a working exhaust. Otherwise, the people were friendly, the selection was decent and the price was right. I'll be sure to use the bathroom at home before our next trip but we'll certainly be back!

No hint of a water bath or any of the cockamamie things some cooks can do to pork meat. Not super smokey but it doesn't need to be, and it doesn't need sauce either which means it's good meat to eat alone. Brisket had all the desired flavor but loads of fat. I don't like paying for gristle and fat when I pay by the pound. Otherwise, they are one of the few places up here who can get flavor right. Big Bad Wolf in Aston used to make great burnt ends with delicious flavor but quality waned last time I tried it. All in all Sterling Pig is pretty good and if you're not used to weeks of GA BBQ every year like we are, you're definitely in for a treat among local options.
