The most disappointing aspect that truly put a "bad" taste to the evening was the final bill - be aware ... La Cabra does tack on a credit card service charge! Didn't expect that one when the bill came - perhaps others carry around hundreds in cash, but taking advantage of customers by inserting additional fees for the use of credit cards in a credit-based society was not expected. Can they not afford to absorb that cost? I know I can dine at many other establishments without having to get "dinged" with this extra superfluous charge. Will I go back? Perhaps, but I'll probably try to tap the ATM before arriving - in other words, I would prefer to pay for the food and drinks, but not for payment process.

Nothing life-changing, but there's enough variety to keep you from complaining too much. Usually a couple decent IPAs--I've been into Coastal Quest lately, so there's that. Food? Also fine. Specials? Also... fine. But credit where credit's due: the Italian Grinder Pizza actually fantastic! RIP Happy Hour beer deals, which is a choice I will continue to side-eye. Bombers still exist, though, so I guess we take the small wins. Real talk: this should be a 3-star place. BUT--the staff absolutely carries it to a 4. They're fast, friendly, somehow remember your name and drink, and will magically find you a seat when the place looks like a human traffic jam. Also always down to chat when it's slow, which makes you feel like a regular even if you're not. So come for the convenience, stay because the staff is awesome, and just emotionally prepare yourself for the 5pm chaos.

I'm grateful that Sterling Pig has the taste and integrity to serve real potato French fries. I've stopped buying fries most places because it's all reconstituted junk anymore, but Sterling Pig's are legit. Thank you! Pulled pork is well rendered with expected flavor and is just simple and satisfying as it should be; grilled meat. No hint of a water bath or any of the cockamamie things some cooks can do to pork meat. Not super smokey but it doesn't need to be, and it doesn't need sauce either which means it's good meat to eat alone. Brisket had all the desired flavor but loads of fat. I don't like paying for gristle and fat when I pay by the pound. Otherwise, they are one of the few places up here who can get flavor right. Big Bad Wolf in Aston used to make great burnt ends with delicious flavor but quality waned last time I tried it. All in all Sterling Pig is pretty good and if you're not used to weeks of GA BBQ every year like we are, you're definitely in for a treat among local options.

But, the band they had was deafeningly loud, I said something to a bartender and they agreed as they couldn't hear people's orders. I had a Bavarian pretzel which was slightly overcooked and wings in buffalo sauce. Wings were awesome and the carrots and celery were fresh but, The blue cheese dressing was absolutely the cheapest joke, it was more like watered down ranch dressing. Guys, step it up. You can't make awesome wings and serve the cheapest joke "blue cheese dressing" along with it. Like I said the place has potential.

The pork had very good pork flavor, but I didn't get any taste of smoke. It was very tender and easy to shred. The brisket didn't have a lot of "meaty" flavor and also lacked any smokiness. In effect, the meats all lacked a lot of their own flavor (the pork was the best), but were essentially something to put their wonderful sauce(s) on, although you could do that with crackers. It also came with a very generous portion of cole slaw which was very good -- best thing on the platter.
