It's easy to keep track of the kids at this pool bc it's not too big, but there's plenty of space for people of all ages to play in the pool. The #1 great thing about Sunset Pool are the lifeguards, who take their jobs seriously and do their jobs well to keep the pool a safe & fun place to spend the summer. They are always scanning the water, practicing drills and keeping up with their CPR certs. Ask anyone who visits Sunset Pool and they'll tell you the same thing. I do think the concessions are too pricey for a small town pool, but that's why we also like to bring our own cooler of snacks and drinks to enjoy during swim breaks.

First, there is quite a bit of elevation changes across this course, which make it more fun and challenging than some of the other nearby courses. Second, the views in the park are beautiful, particularly at sunset. Third, the course takes you on a wide variety of different nature and shooting situations. Fourth, you don't really run the danger of throwing your disc into water, holes, or other unrecoverable situations. It was not too busy here when I visited and parking was plentiful. I would gladly visit this park again for some more disc golf in the future.

Phillips Park is quite a large space of green with something going on all year. Has things for both adults and children. There's a golf course and a zoo that are both popular. Big park with a lot going on and plenty of people being active or just sitting around hanging. It's for sure one of the places around here that's popular for when going outdoors. The golf course is where most of the adults go to when it gets warmer. For a public course it's pretty well maintained. This is a full 18 holes and includes a bar and grill to go to after playing. Also in summer it's fun to go to the Family Aquatic Center. This is a water park with a big pool and sprays. It's not a massive one but it's big enough. The best thing here though is the Zoo. It's free. You heard right. It's not a big one, but there's still plenty of animals. Most of these are native ones like birds, farm animals, and reptiles. Good for children. The park is also decorated with lights for holidays. Great big park with a lot to offer anyone. It's located on the south side of the city close to Montgomery. There's lots of things but the best one is the Zoo.

This is an older pool, so it's not as glitzy as some of the other pools in the area. They have 1 water slide, a diving board, a sand pit and a great toddler area. The toddler area here is fenced in and has it's own pool which is 0 dept to 2 feet or so. There are lots of chairs here for moms to sit poolside. Off of the toddler pool is the sand area. I've spent lots of time here and there are always extra chairs and some benches. There are toys available here, I wouldn't bring your own because you will get a headache trying to keep an eye on them. Pricewise, this pool has a cheaper admission rate for non residents. It's $11.75 for an adult and $7.00 for a child. Sometimes the pool closes early due to swim meets and this pool opens later that Rice Pool due to swim lessons. Another important thing to know is that the kids in the daycamps at Northside Park, swim at this pool from 1-3 or so. This summer (2010) the camps are relocated due to work at the park, but they will be back next year. This pool is a great one to hang out with your little ones. If you have older kids, the slides at Rice Pool are a better source of entertainment.

However a simple pool they have all of the pizzazz and the new pools. They have great music always, a slide AND diving board. Kiddy pool AND sand box. The sand box is the original mine craft as the kids make rivers and lakes in the sand. Get your kids out of the house and have a unforgettable time here.
