Long overdue review. Visited last year for my Bday with friends, and we all loved the food. It's rare to find an Indian Restaurants that has good reviews from Indians and non-Indians. While they did westernize some of the dishes, they still maintained the overall flavor and taste, so the food was not bland or lacked the authentic Indian taste. Quality and quantity were both good, and the decor and atmosphere were pretty good. Service was not too slow, considering they were pretty packed.

Small venue. Has a take out lunch special. Friendly staff. Small bar menu. Menu with a variety of fusion. Food is good, not your typical traditional Indian fare but good if you like to experiment with fusion!

Fantastic Indian restaurant in DT Summit! The interior is a bit dark, but once you get used to it, get ready to feast. The service was solid, the waiters came by repeatedly to check on us. The food was fantastic, we got to try multiple appetizers and curry dishes. Some highlights included: crispy okra salad (super flavorful with contrasting textures), butter chicken (classic dish, perfect with naan), and shrimp vindaloo (spice level gives an awesome kick). Overall, everything was excellent and whatever we didn't finish was perfect for takeout. Recommend!

Fantastic Indian bistro that blends creativity with traditional charm in a delicious way. The flavors are spot on, the vibe is relaxed upscale & service is pleasant. Worth trying dishes include bhoot jholakia chicken tikka, pesto chicken tikka, crispy okra salad, pili mirch paneer tikka, butter chicken, shaam savera kofta, palak paneer & butterscotch rasmalai.

A new favorite spot to grab Indian food. I'm always looking for nice Indian restaurants in NJ where you can have a sit down meal in a pleasant environment. NYC vibes in NJ and I'm here for it!!!! The food is excellent, the ambience is excellent, the service is excellent and it's byob.. what more do you want! I grabbed drinks at the summit house before heading over here if you're not into the byob mood.

I visited Four Monkeys last weekend with my family & we absolutely loved it! Dining out with multiple food allergies can be tricky, thankfully the team at Four Monkeys was very responsive and responded to my email correspondence immediately, assuring me they had options for us. They did not disappoint! My son ordered baby goat curry & enjoyed every bite! We also ordered Bandar Butter Chicken and Tandoori Pomfret. The butter chicken was better than I expected, I'm not usually a fan, but this was excellent! Flavorful and not overly creamy. My favorite dish of the night was the Tandoori Pomfret, it was divine! Cooked to perfection and a decadent curry base. The staff was incredibly helpful. We worked with the Manager, Pankaj, who went over the entire menu and helped us decide on a safe dish for my son. He then confirmed our choice with the kitchen before placing the order. Pankaj checked on us multiple times to ensure we were enjoying our dinner, the extra care was greatly appreciated. Thank you Four Monkeys for a delicious, safe dining experience! We can't wait to return & we're already planning our visit to your sister restaurant, Dhamaal, in Montclair. Thank you!

We made a reservation well before their posted closing time, and when we arrived we were told that we had 1 minute to order. Felt extremely rushed because of that. We weren't even really greeted. So they definitely need to update their closing times if that's the case. We liked the burrata, and the biriyani was very flavorful.

We had been meaning to try this wonderful restaurant in Summit. Went with friends and loved it. Very welcoming and friendly staff. BYOB which is always great. Beautiful space, albeit a bit dark in lighting. We started with trio of Samosas. Everyone liked this fish. We got the Pani Puri with a mint and spicy water. I loved this so Much! We got the crunch cauliflower which I'd order again. The shrimp Lettuce wraps are outrageous. The menu is a modern take by the chef on Indian cuisine. For main courses we got the Aloo Goni; Bhutanese chicken; chicken Chettinad, and Rarha lamb chops with bucket chilli naan and the tandoori roti. Delicious. On to dessert we got: Tiramisu in bloom; Butterscotch Rasmalai; and Cassata ice cream. Again simply delicious. I will be returning here soon. Give it a try you will love it.

It is an unique name that attracted me to come in for dinner. They are more like an Asian fusion Indian food with great interior decoration. I ordered the shrimp lettuce roll. The sauce tased like Vietnamese sweet hot sour kind. They need to be a little generous on the protein portion. The garlic naan was delicious. Great place to enjoy the Indian fusion dishes. Definitely come back to sample more. BTW, parking around the restaurant is not so easy.

Amazing! Was looking for a Resturant in the summit area to eat and four monkeys came up. I'm really picky with Indian food especially because I've had some of the best Indian food in LA, but the flavors were so rich and flavorful! I only wish there was more chicken in the butter chicken because the sauce to meat ratio was a little off but it was still so delicious nonetheless. The presentation was also gorgeous and I loved the interior! Service was great, our server checked up on us often and was super nice. I'll definitely return and recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!

Delicious food tonight. We had aloo gobi, dal, paneer tikka masala, garlic and arab naan. Everything came out hot and it was very satisfying. It was the best meal of the year according to my boy. Our waiter was excellent. Well versed on the menu and friendly 5 star for that guy

I'm so full & satisfied!! The decoration is very pretty, the lights are dim and the music is soft and low. The bathrooms smell really good and were clean. Even though we came in near closing time they still served us without rushing and with care. We had a great experience and will return.

Came here to treat some friends a few months back to an elevated culinary experience and that's exactly what Four Monkeys is. Service is wonderful and the food -- impeccable. I enjoyed trying several varieties off the menu from apps to dessert and can't wait to be back! A wonderful spot for any occasion and party.

So he falsely posted on Yelp he had refunded me. So what, huh? So I to get the Better Business Bureau involved. Who cares, right? But personally seeing him repeatedly screaming at his staff was the stake through heart of the self-promoted image of the nicest restaurant host. Apparently an act. Everyone has a rough day tine to time, tempers flare for us all: we are human. But from the repeated tirades I witnessed well within view and earshot of patrons on April 11, 2026, I do not believe the outbursts were isolated incidents. So if you ever go, if you see something, post something. Never in a lifetime of patronizing peaceful pleasant Indian eateries have I ever seen such abusive treatment of staff. Anger and bullying have no home in Indian restaurants or anywhere.

Also, this place has a real issue with time: The one occasion we dined there we sat at the table for over an hour after ordering, waiting. All the while Uber eats etc drivers were gathering and standing, hovering in the dining area waiting too with some were getting downright uncouth. Not a pleasant experience. I can understand why some restaurants won't deal with these drivers at all. At least the employees maintained decorum. My tip: order and pickup but wait a half hour longer than they tell you. Sticky floors and a noticeable odor hit you at the entrance. Hopefully, they'll clean it instead of just hiding it under a rug

The door in the back is just a solid white door with no glass or any way to see in but trust me it takes you into the restaurant For apps we had the pakora basket. It came with a samosa and beetroot tikki as well. The samosa was great and the beetroot tikki had promise but was a little free with the fennel seeds. The spinach pakora - please just offer me this by the basketful! The rest of the pakora (caulflower, onion and potato) were good but after a few we had our share of besan. Also to start was the lasooni gobhi 65. Our son is selectively spice-averse so we asked for the sauce on the side. The cauliflower was fried in what seemed like a thinner besan (chickpea) batter and was red. While it was piping hot, I did not find it too crispy and the sauce in the bowl on the side lacked that garlic oomph. No worries at least the kid loved it. The Paneer Tikka was next. This is where the flavor resides! One of the best paneer tikkas we have had. Edges slightly crisp and flavor still intact with a soft paneer. No cheating with the torch like some restaurants do. Star of the night. Vegetable Jalfrezi - Packed with fresh veggies, savory flavor and not cut with potatoes. This is was blanketed with the tandoori roti we ordered. We will be back, and next time I am heading straight to the same mains we ordered. The food comes out hot and fast, so be ready!

Everything has been great, no exceptions. My SO has been really happy with his entrees too and is looking forward to coming back to see if the vindaloo can make him cry. The flavor profile is great, the portions are massive. I usually default to lamb rogan Josh when I try a new place but have been hitting vegetarian entries since they can be amazing at Indian places and they absolutely are. The price point is decent, very similar to other Indian restaurants of this tier in Jersey. I'm glad they include the rice with the curry which helps the price. They serve papadams with onion, tamarind, and mint chutney to start. Again, I've seen more Indian places omit this or charge for it. Very close to my SOs place, so this will start becoming a regular spot.

But the vegetable Assorted Pakora ( battered and fried veggies) was not good at all. It was doughy and soft, not crispy at all and bland tasting. A total loss. Then the Spring Rolls were a pleasant recovery from that, nice sized, several with the order, and tasted good. The Chicken Pakora (battered fried chicken nuggets) was middle of the road, not too crispy, but the chicken was tender and enjoyable with the spicy dipping sauce. The Onion Kulcha (soft flatbread with onions, herbs and spices in it) was not bad, and went well with the main dish, which was Chicken Nargisi. This is chicken chunks in a spicy coconut milk sauce which was very good. This came with a very generous portion of basmati rice (huge portion, enough for 3-4 people as a side). The rice was aromatic, cooked correctly, not gummy at all. The coconut chicken was seasoned well, the chicken was tender with plenty of sauce. Also a large enough portion to make 2 meals out of it. The Samosas were the standout of the meal, highly recommended.
