Friendly service. Meat samosas flavorful and good size. They did not provide two sets of chutneys for the two orders so they skimped here. Also, the tikka masala sauce was quite watery and suuuuuper salty. We expected better taste and value for appx $55 bill.

Terrible food and unapologetic staff! We rarely takeout Indian food as we prefer to dine in or cook at home. The one Friday night we decide to eat in and we were so disappointed. Chicken 65 was clearly anything but that- chicken in tomatoey sauce with a wannabe chili chicken flavor?? Moving onto the Biryani which would have been the saving Grace but not really- mutton added to an overly spiced rice with the raw taste of masalas. When we called to explain half the order was wrong we were told that's how 65 was made! Uhhmm don't think so...Needless to say we're not going back anytime soon!

Round 2 - paneer masala and litchi paneer

All stars for ambience and customer service ! We ordered garlic naan, Lacha parantha and a new dish on menu - litchi paneer . We found it really blend and owner changed it plus brought another paneer dish for compensation. Being Indian taste might not meet our expectation (we love spices ;) ) but am glad this place is customized for Americans who wudnt turn red eating one spoon full .. Thank you for taking personal note for us ! All the best

I have been coming here many years and the food is delicious. Rice is usually included. I think there are two locations in New Jersey.

Ask the Community - Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine

Is there s different chef food was not the same?

I think there is definitely a different chef. The onions on the chicken tikka used to be sliced large; now they are very thinly sliced. In addition, there is slivered cabbage in the food, and more of that than onions. I've actually contacted Pooja… Read more

But this one didn't have anything going for it to make me want to give it a second chance. From the decor , service , food et all . Nothing worked for us here. This was an impromptu stop to get dinner since we were in the area. It didn't have great Yelp ratings but we still wanted to give it a chance. It was a weekday evening and the place had one table occupied. That gave us some courage to walk in to a seemingly empty restaurant. Since the objective was to have a quick meal we planned to order few basic things . Chicken Biriyani - was quite bad . Rice had an overpowering fragrance of rose water & spices , meat was not fresh & the Biriyani didn't offer a punch! Malabar Chicken Curry - This was just ok. Chicken was not fresh! Malabar Parotha - Flaky & Good. Having tried their basic offerings recommend by the waitress, our experience wasn't promising , as the food wasn't fresh & the place wasn't inviting. Most of the Kerala specialities like Appam , Dosa wasn't available . They seem to be focussed on their lunch buffet, weekend dining & mostly takeout for weekdays. That made dining in on a weekday quite blah! This place is normally way off for us to frequent and given our mediocre experience I wouldn't make the trek !

My sister and I do not mind having some Indian cuisine every so often and this one is close to home so we thought why not give it a try. We came here on a Sunday evening around 6:00pm. The restaurant was empty and for some people an empty restaurant can be a bad sign but for us it turned out to be a good sign. We were greeted when we walked in and seated right away. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive which I love because I love a restaurant that is welcoming. For an appetizer my sister and I shared the goat samosa which was served with tomato chutney. I enjoyed the goat samosa, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the tomato chutney. As for my entree I wanted to try something different because butter chicken is always my go to when it comes to Indian cuisine. For my entree I got the Nepali Festive Thali(veg) which was a platter of rice, lentils, vegetable curry, mustard green leaves, black-eyed pea beans curry, pickles, chutneys, pappad, and it also came with gulab jamun with yogurt. We also ordered a side of garlic naan. I thought this entree was okay and I enjoyed the vegetable curry with the rice and the gulab jamun the most. Overall I will definitely be back. I'm glad I finally got to try this local Indian restaurant in my area.

For an appetizer we had the goat samosa, which turned out to be quite tasty 7/10. For the entree I had the Nepali festive thali chicken and my sister had the veggie option. We both agreed the portion was generous and worth every penny. The only thing I would say is that I'd want a little more seasoning. Other than that 8.5/10. The garlic naan was a 7.5/10 cause it could've used a little more garlic, but that being said it was still yummy. Overall., moksha was a great spot to check out to satisfy my Indian cravings. I will definitely be returning.

The entire experience - from the first time I visited and met with the Manager Teji to the time the Party concluded, it was a great feel. The decorators and the DJ suggested were also awesome and all-in-all made it a memorable experience. I would strongly recommend this place for hosting parties for up to 100 people especially if you like Indian and Indo-Chinese food.
