Huge line in for chocolate event...

2019 FACTORY TOUR A HUGE HIT (BOTH TO INSULIN LEVELS AND DELIGHT LEVELS, THE SAME) I took the annual tour with the fam for $5 a person. Included in it was as much chocolate as a man could fit in his gullet, as well as an introduction into the mastery of Fowler's chocolate candy carving methodology. Did you know that just about all Fowler's chocolate candies are painstakingly made by hand? That's right, they are. That's not to say there isn't a good ammount of conveyor belts and other machines working on them as well, but all those coconut clusters, peanut butter truffles and yes, even the beloved sponge candy is hand-crafted to perfection! I watched the staff on hand mix, bake, form and even saw the sponge candy "sponges" into cubes, then chocolate coating on the conveyor belt before a personal inspection of each one. Unfortunately, pictures were forbidden on the tour, with the penalty being a beautiful melody being sung to you as the Oompa Loompas whisk you off the premises while you wistfully watch the mounds of chocolate pile up knowing you'll eat them nevermore, or at least during the factory tour. With that being said, I don't have much demonstrative evidence to prove to you what I witnessed going on during the tour, but take my more word for it, it was nothing short of magical. They even have "Golden Ticket" winners that win a year's supple of chocolate! I didn't win, but all is well that ends well, I suppose. I wouldn't have lasted a full year to enjoy the full benefit if Fowler's didn't also throw in a triple bypass surgery and a ventilator.

    10/10 pun

Go here for the annual tour, you won't be disappointed!! $5 donation for Boys & Girls Club gets you unlimited samples and an insiders look at the factory. You might even win a year's supply of chocolate! They don't make places like this anymore.

Great chocolate sponge candy. Definitely worth the trip and a great gift if you are visiting the area. It would be 5 Stars but allowing only one customer at a time is a pretty harsh policy even with COVID restrictions.

Fun at this year's factory tour!

When you enter, if you take a left you end up in the Candy Shop, and if you take a right you end up at the Ice Cream Shop. We did a quick pass through of the Candy shop, they have quite the selection, and the lady who was working at the time was incredibly friendly. The candy itself seemed to be a bit on the pricy side for what it was. On to the Ice Cream shop! They had quite a decent selection of flavors, and the day happened to be buy 1 get 1 free Pie slice day, so that is what we did. We went for once slice of the Apple Pie, and one Slice of the Peanut Butter Pie, to share. While the price was good for the pies, considering one slice was free, both slices seemed stale, and the apple pie seemed well underbaked. It was very clean inside, and we had the place to ourselves. I love tipping for good service, when I paid, I tipped 20% even through the employee seemed less than thrilled we were there. Not certain what the tip was for as we ended up having to go grab our own desserts, as well as bus our own table.

Hugh selection of creamy milk and dark chocolates to choose from in the old historic brick Wurlitzer building. They have windows where you can see them make candy. They're famous for their orange chocolate and their chocolate covered sponge candy. I choose milk chocolate sea salt candies and milk chocolate peanut butter cups. Both are mouth watering delicious. They have something for everyone and even sell coffee. ( orange chocolate of course). And if that wasn't enough, they also serve hard and soft ice cream along with soda drinks. I tried the Lavender and vanilla ice cream that was refreshing. There's plenty of free parking in the front. The staff was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place when/if you're in the area!

Sadly disappointed at the customer service. I contacted the store for delivery specifics and I submitted an order online on the afternoon,12/16/25. I was informed by the (young sounding, likely high school age) employee that the orders usually ship 1-3 business days (according to the website US priority mail) but with the holiday may be up to 5 business days.....ok that will still work. I received an email shortly after I ordered online that the order was accepted and being processed. Card was charged on 12/17/25. Order was to have the items during the Christmas holiday. 12/27/25 No order arrived. I sent an email to address listed on website, inquiring about my order. STRIKE 1 12/30/25- NO response from mgt. STRIKE 2 12/30/25 called the store requesting to speak with a manager, request refused. Employee instructed me to send email to the address listed. I stated that had already had been done, had not received a reply, and requested again to speak with a manager, Denied. Employee stated and attempted to check store data base regarding order. Was told that they didn't have the access level to check deeper, Thus the reason to speak with a manager... No information, tracking regarding my order was accessed STRIKE 3 Was told it would be looked into and I would be notified via phone. I understand holiday is busy mail season, US Priority states 1-3 business days, 9 Business days later, no order arrived. Poor service and no confidence in any further order deliveries, based on my experience.
