Absolutely love Fox & Bull Baking. I've been a few times and also stopped by their stand at the farmers market during the summer. They do specialty donuts on Fridays and Sundays and my most recent trip there was to pick up the chocolate peanut butter donuts! Absolutely delicious. The bakery was hosting a coffee pop up, which was a tad confusing during the morning rush but easy to navigate. I met a friend here and enjoyed two pastries. The dining room is cute, filled with plants and enough space to hang out or play with your kids. The reese's pieces donut was immaculate. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing, and although the person assisting us was in the middle of cleaning up, he still greeted us with smiles and such a warm attitude as if the place had just opened and was not closing, which really made our experience so worth it! We originally planned to grab a Matcha and a Latte; however, to our lack of due diligence we learned that this bakery does serve Matcha or the typical coffee shop-style lattes. Instead, the person helping us kindly explained their menu and offered suggestions and wow, we were blown away by how amazing everything tasted! Here's what we ordered: Cold Brew with Raspberry Cold Foam --10/10! Even though they're primarily a bakery, their cold brew base is incredible, and that raspberry cold foam takes it to the next level. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it and honestly wanted more! Iced Berry Hibiscus Tea --9/10! The flavor was fantastic and super refreshing. We just wished it had been a touch sweeter, but overall it was still one of the best hibiscus teas we've ever had! Cinnamon Roll --10/10! This was one of the BEST cinnamon rolls I've ever had! The cream cheese icing on top was soooo delicious and the filling of the roll was just the right amount of gooey! This might be one of the best chocolate donuts I've ever had. The caramel apple was a great seasonal option - full of filling! Get there early before they sell out! I also got the breakfast panini, which was simple but delicious and filling! If you order food at the counter, you get a number and then go find a table. This bakery place has been in my radar for more than 3 months now & somehow I made it here this morning. Heard about this place through my visits to Overland Park farmers market. They do pop-ups at farmer's market every Saturday. So glad to finally visit their place in good ole Grandview. Their baking game is so good, high quality & decent price. They also do have some breakfast/brunch options here & I'm sure they'll work on adding more coffee options. Currently, they have cold brew, vanilla oat cold brew, drip coffee and one more coffee foam in their menu. They also do have some tea options. I have tried their Vanilla oat cold brew (replaced oat milk with normal milk) which is decent. Staff look very helpful with modifications in the drink I requested. On pastries, I tried their almond bear claw and everything danish. Both are very fresh and delicious. I'll visit this place again with some of my friends v soon. Had their cold brew with an almond croissant- perfectly crispy on the outside, sweet almond on the inside. What a great spot! I was heading to my boyfriend's house early this morning and decided to take a little detour to get us breakfast. First impression that this is the ODDEST location for such a nice, high-end shop. It shares a parking lot with a run down shopping center that is anchored by a dollar general. There's no really good way to get here aside from backroads, no highway access so it's not very easy to get to. That said, I was SO happy I stopped by. There weren't any donuts out (a bit disappointed I didn't get to try one), but I got a cinnamon roll, raspberry pop tart, everything danish and the spicy bacon cheese danish. Everything was delicious. The cream cheese frosting on the cinnamon roll was incredible. The space is cute with plenty of seating. At 8 AM on a Saturday, there was only 1 other customer. I'm not usually fond of chocolate for breakfast; but given the expert preparation, there is just enough chocolate to be decadent yet restrained enough to be wonderful regardless of the time of day. The pop tarts are better than any pop tart I've ever had. As for the savory options, I've tried the ham and cheese croissant, which I really enjoyed, and a very rich and flavorful biscuit and gravy. Nestled back near quiet neighborhoods with the faint buzz of 435 in the background, Fox and Bull has brought fresh life to this community. The minimalist design and friendly staff have catapulted this bakery into the forefront of some of the best pastry goods in the city. Recommended are the cinnamon rolls. Oh my lord. Imagine tender, flaky, buttery pastry dough topped with the perfect blend of cream cheese icing that is neither too sweet nor too tart. Seriously, how do people not eat these by the half dozen? (Or maybe they do. Full disclosure I've eaten 2 in one sitting) Secondly, but not in ranking, the blueberry donut. Consider for a moment the number of historic donut places in proximity (Holts/Lamar's etc.). What I'm about to claim may seem pretentious, exaggerated, downright mad...but I assure you there is truth to it: this donut is one of the greatest inventions if mankind. I love donuts, who doesn't? I've been to some top ranked US donut stops (Donut Man, CA; Britts in Wilmington NC) and this CONTENDS with the greatest among them all. The donut is perfectly cooked, just barely crisp on the outside and tender inside with enough substance to feel like you're eating something not just breathing in cotton candy (looking at you Krispy K). The inside contains a lemon crème that will saddle and adventure your being to a picturesque sunset scene on a dairy farm in Wisconsin (maybe you don't want that, but I sure as heck do). The blueberry compote topping this pastry party is, how can I say it, perfect? It's one of the things you want to eat spoonfuls of when your spouse isn't looking. If it were jarred I would be putting it on toast, pancakes, LARGE spoons. However, it isn't too sweet that you hate yourself for doing it. Make sense? You must try this donut. The staff, as I mentioned earlier, seem to be fantastic people that love their craft. Read that again. They love their craft. Look, anyone that loves their craft needs to be visited by people like us. In a world of vending machine packaged fructose cakes, WE DONT DESERVE ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO CARE. But here we are, not far from 435 just drinking in the low-key luxury of people who do. Highly recommend. Buy some extra goodies for your friends and your mom.
