The best donuts I've had in a very long time. Very high quality and not your typical Dunkin/KrispyKreme

2nd trip for Fox & Bull on a Saturday! Great options even at 10:30 in the morning. There is not a lot of filling in them so definitely the focus is the flakiness of the pastry which is very delicious. They have a bulk discount if you order 10. This place is a little gem in South KC. Also two iced oat milk lattes which were very good, too!

The bakery was hosting a coffee pop up, which was a tad confusing during the morning rush but easy to navigate. I met a friend here and enjoyed two pastries. The dining room is cute, filled with plants and enough space to hang out or play with your kids. The reese's pieces donut was immaculate. The pop tarts were more croissant than filling, which is actually my favorite. Big fan, these donuts actually cost less than other, less tasty, ones in the metro.

Honestly, Fox and Bull Baking was such a pleasant surprise! We arrived about 15 minutes before closing, and although the person assisting us was in the middle of cleaning up, he still greeted us with smiles and such a warm attitude as if the place had just opened and was not closing, which really made our experience so worth it! We originally planned to grab a Matcha and a Latte; however, to our lack of due diligence we learned that this bakery does serve Matcha or the typical coffee shop-style lattes. Instead, the person helping us kindly explained their menu and offered suggestions and wow, we were blown away by how amazing everything tasted! Here's what we ordered: Cold Brew with Raspberry Cold Foam --10/10! Even though they're primarily a bakery, their cold brew base is incredible, and that raspberry cold foam takes it to the next level. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it and honestly wanted more! Iced Berry Hibiscus Tea --9/10! The flavor was fantastic and super refreshing. We just wished it had been a touch sweeter, but overall it was still one of the best hibiscus teas we've ever had! Cinnamon Roll --10/10! This was one of the BEST cinnamon rolls I've ever had! The cream cheese icing on top was soooo delicious and the filling of the roll was just the right amount of gooey! We saved the second roll for home and warmed it a bit and it was EVEN BETTER warmed! Fox & Bull Baking is so worth it from the customer service to the items we tried! Although we expected our usual Matcha and Lattes, I can hands down say this is one of our new favorite places. We didn't miss a Latte or Matcha at all! It was really great and refreshing to experience something different for a change!

Absolutely lovely experience! The vibes inside are sunny and warm and comfortable! The employees were welcoming, helpful, and efficient! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and approached the counter! You have to go Thursday-Sunday to get the special brioche donuts! This might be one of the best chocolate donuts I've ever had. The caramel apple was a great seasonal option - full of filling! Get there early before they sell out! I also got the breakfast panini, which was simple but delicious and filling! If you order food at the counter, you get a number and then go find a table. There's a good amount of seating inside considering the small size of the space! Around 9:30 am it started to get a little packed, but everyone was able to find a table to eat. There are also some picnic benches outside! They have a huge parking lot to accommodate the weekend breakfast rush!

This bakery place has been in my radar for more than 3 months now & somehow I made it here this morning. Heard about this place through my visits to Overland Park farmers market. They do pop-ups at farmer's market every Saturday. So glad to finally visit their place in good ole Grandview. Their baking game is so good, high quality & decent price. They also do have some breakfast/brunch options here & I'm sure they'll work on adding more coffee options. Currently, they have cold brew, vanilla oat cold brew, drip coffee and one more coffee foam in their menu. They also do have some tea options. I have tried their Vanilla oat cold brew (replaced oat milk with normal milk) which is decent. Staff look very helpful with modifications in the drink I requested. On pastries, I tried their almond bear claw and everything danish. Both are very fresh and delicious. I'll visit this place again with some of my friends v soon. Plenty of parking space available here. Plenty of seating is available too. Decent ambiance.

Love the vibes as I walk in - fresh, bright, and welcoming! My brother insisted that he take me, and I'm so glad he did! Had their cold brew with an almond croissant- perfectly crispy on the outside, sweet almond on the inside. Got a little jealous watching my brother eat his burrito, but the croissant was more than enough to fill me. His favorite is the raspberry poptart, which also looked amazing! Service was excellent, food great, and plenty of space to enjoy my brother's company while he also worked on his laptop.

I was in the area early enough that I could swing by and try out some goodies. I was a bit too late for the brioche donuts that they sometimes offer on the weekends. But they still had plenty of options. We tried an apple fritter, blueberry pop-tart, cherry danish, and cinnamon roll. They were all really good. The pastry was flaky and the fillings were fresh. My favorite was the cinnamon roll. It was definitely homemade and was so soft. They also had savory options which I'll try on a return visit!

    Early Sunday vibes.

I buy their bread at the Farmer's Market each, but their specialty donuts are exclusive to here. Completely worth getting up early on a Sunday Morning. I still dream of their peach cobbler. This morning a went for the Chantilly. Also treated myself to a breakfast sandwich, delicious. Charming atmosphere. Friendly staff. 10/10

Cold brew, blueberry and lemon donut, strawberry danish

They can take all of my money!!! Fox and bull is right by my new place and I've been here nonstop since I found it!! Oat milk cold brew with cold foam is my constant, and I love trying new pastries every time I go! The strawberry danish and cherry turnover are my favorite. AMAZING prices, service, and cozy ambiance.

The case of the missing pastry. A real who-done-it thriller!

Fresh baked goods! Sadly I don't have a pic of my brioche sandwich or my bear claw - you'll have to trust me. Shop fresh and local!

Good pastries. Nice coffee. Not sure what to say on the variety. Not a lot of kinds of pastries. Really like scones and coffee: wonderful!

they have amazing cinnamon rolls, came in around noon and they still had a pretty decent selection. tried the sweet potato hash and fell in love, and there is not many places that can get me to like Brussel sprouts lol. good service, very cute set up inside!

The service was friendly and "order at the counter." The worker was quick to give suggestions and a layout of the menu. To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.

A few months ago my sister and I hosted a baby shower for our other sister and after looking around an options we decided to go with McLains. It was a smaller group, and we were doing a brunch theme, and our sister LOVES sweets. That paired with our desire to support local, and our shared love of McLains, this was just the most obvious choice. We ended up ordering a cake and first of all I have to say their cake flavor choices are insane - I think we settled on a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (YUM), but I don't think you can go wrong here. We also ordered one of their pre-set pastry bundles for pick up and honestly everything was wonderful. I think I placed the order about a week out and it was ready when I came to pick it up. What pushed this experience into five star category for me? Just the friendliness of the staff, the serving tools they send you home with, and how thoughtful everyone was. The food was also really just exactly what we needed and it was so good there were hardly any leftovers, I think the kids cleared us out by lunch! At any rate, if you're on the hunt for a great spot to support for your next brunch event consider McLains - they won't let you down!
